Installation
The refrigerator should be installed in accordance with local electrical code requirements. The refrigerator should also be placed in a location that is strong enough to support its total weight, keeping in mind that it will weigh substantially more when fully loaded than when empty. Before you plug the refrigerator into a power supply, be sure to let it stand upright for at least 24 hours to allow the compressor’s oils to settle.
Unpacking the Refrigerator
Warning: Use two or more people to move and install the refrigerator. Failure to do so can result in back or another injury. Carefully remove the packaging materials. Remove any shipping tape and glue from your refrigerator before use. Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or glue. These products can damage the surface of your refrigerator.
Warning: Do not remove any safety, warning, or product information labels from your refrigerator.
Types of Installation
This refrigerator has been designed for freestanding or built-in installation.
In each case, there must be adequate ventilation and access for service.
Freestanding Installation:
A free-standing installation will allow you to install the refrigerator in
almost any place you desire. You must follow the stated instructions for
electrical requirements and leveling the refrigerator.
Built-in Installation:
A built-in installation will allow you to install the refrigerator under a
counter as long as the required clearance space around the refrigerator is
provided. It is necessary to allow adequate ventilation space around the unit,
including at the back of the unit.
The following additional items must be observed:
- Place the refrigerator in front of the installation location. Adjust the feet and place the unit flat on the floor or on a platform depending on your installation requirements.
- If the electrical outlet for the refrigerator is behind the cabinet, plug in the refrigerator.
- Push the refrigerator into position.
Warning: DO NOT install the refrigerator behind a closed cabinet door.
Clearance Requirements
Notes:
- To ensure proper service access and ventilation, allow between 1 – 2 inches of clearance at the back as shown in the diagram.
- The installation should allow the unit to be pulled forward for servicing, if necessary.
- A standard electrical supply (115 VAC only, 60 Hz), properly grounded in accordance with National Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances, is required.
When installing the refrigerator under a counter, follow the recommended
spacing dimensions shown.
To ensure proper service access and ventilation, allow at least 1-2” of
clearance at the back, 1/4 ” at the top, and 1/4 ” at the sides. If the door
side is against a wall, allow at least 2 1 /16” of clearance. The installation
should allow the unit to be pulled forward for servicing, if necessary.

Note: The refrigerator should be installed on a firm and level surface
that will be able to support the entire weight of a fully-loaded unit. It is
important for the refrigerator to be level in order to work properly. If
needed, you can adjust the height of the refrigerator by rotating the feet.

Electrical Requirements
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD!
- Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
- Never remove the grounding prong from the plug.
- Never use an adapter to bypass the grounding prong.
- DO NOT use an extension cord.
- Failure to follow these instructions can result in fire, electrical shock, or death.
Before you move your refrigerator into its final location, it is important to make sure you have the proper electrical connection:
- A standard electrical supply (115 V, 60Hz), properly grounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances, is required.
- It is recommended that a separate circuit, serving only your refrigerator, be provided. Use receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
- The fuse (or circuit breaker) size should be 15 Amps.
Recommended Grounding Method
For your personal safety, this appliance must be grounded. It is equipped with a power supply cord that has a 3-pronged grounding plug. To minimize possible shock hazards, the cord must be plugged into a mating 3-pronged wall socket, and grounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances. If a mating wall socket is not available, it is the personal responsibility of the customer to have a properly grounded, 3-prong wall receptacle installed by a qualified electrician.
Leveling the Refrigerator
The refrigerator should be installed on a firm and level surface that will be able to support the entire weight of a fully-loaded unit. It is important for the refrigerator to be leveled in order to work properly. It can be raised or lowered by rotating the plastic sheaths around each of the feet on the bottom of the machine. If you find that the surface is not level, rotate the feet until the refrigerator becomes level. You may need to make several adjustments to level it. We recommend using a carpenter’s level to check the machine. Turn the leveling feet to the right to lower that side of the refrigerator. Turn the leveling feet to the left to raise that side of the refrigerator
Important: Once you are ready to install the unit in a cabinet or directly on the floor, you must adjust the feet to level the refrigerator.
Installing the Door Handle
To install the door handle:
- Open the door and carefully pull the door gasket around the area where the handle is to be installed.
- Insert each Phillips head screw through the gasket side of the door until the screw passes through the door.
- Align the handle with the screws and tighten using a Phillips head screwdriver until the handle is flush against the door frame.
- Carefully press the door gasket into its original position.
Caution: Do not over-tighten the screws as this may cause damage to the handle or to the stainless steel door.
Installing the Shelves
To prevent damaging door gasket, make sure to open the door fully before pulling the shelves off their tracks.
- Open the door completely.
- Ensure that the metal guide posts are attached to the back of the shelf.
- While lifting the right side of the shelf up 45°, rest the left metal guide post on the shelf track.
- Slowly push the shelf back until the right metal guide post reaches the vertical indentation in the cabinet.
- Gently set the shelf down on the track.
Removing the Shelves
- Open the door completely.
- Remove all of the contents loaded on the shelf, if applicable.
- Ensure that the shelf is pushed back completely.
- Carefully lift either the left or right side of the shelf up 45°.
- Pull the shelf forward until it is completely removed from the inner compartment.
Operation
Installation Checklist before Operation
- Have all packing materials and tape been removed from the interior and exterior of the refrigerator?
- Have the installation instructions been followed, including connecting the machine to electricity? And has proper grounding been installed for the refrigerator?
- Has the machine been leveled?
- Is the refrigerator in a site where the ambient temperature is between 50° F and 90° F all year round?
- Is there a clearance of at least 1- 2” at the rear, 1/4” at the top, and 1/4” at the sides for proper air circulation?
Using the Temperature Control Panel
The refrigerator has a temperature range of 34° F to 65° F
Power Button: Turns the unit on and off. Press and hold this button for
approximately 3 seconds to adjust between power on and power off.
Light Button: Press this button to alternate between the three internal
light colors: Blue, white, and amber. Please refer to the “Internal Light”
section for further details.
Up Button: Press this button on the control panel to increase the
temperature by 1-degree increments.
Down Button: Press this button on the control panel to lower the
temperature by 1-degree increments.
Run Light: When lit, the unit is in cooling mode.
**The Celsius (C) or Fahrenheit (F)** indicator will be lit depending on
which unit of temperature measurement is being used. To switch between C and
F, press and hold both the Up and Down buttons simultaneously for
approximately 3 seconds. A beep will sound and the indicator light will
illuminate next to the desired temperature setting.
Sabbath Mode
This refrigerator is programmed with a Sabbath Mode. In Sabbath Mode, the refrigerator will continue to cool and maintain temperature. However, the refrigerator will no longer respond to user interactions. All lights, display(s), and indicators are turned off, and all alarms are disabled. To enter Sabbath Mode, hold the Power button and press the Up button twice. The control panel will beep twice indicating that the refrigerator is in Sabbath Mode. To exit Sabbath Mode, perform the same action and the control panel will beep twice indicating that the refrigerator is no longer in Sabbath mode. The refrigerator will return to normal operation.
Caution: If you turn the refrigerator off, please wait at least 5 minutes before turning it back on
Note: The refrigerator is equipped with a temperature memory function. If power is suddenly lost, the previously set temperature will be saved and the refrigerator will return to this setting once power is restored. Allow at least 24 hours for the set temperature to be reached.
Internal Light
This refrigerator is equipped with top and side internal lights that can be set to a blue, white, or amber color. The internal lights will illuminate each time the door is opened and fade off once the door is closed. This feature is triggered by a sensor located on the front vent. This sensor allows the refrigerator to recognize when the door is open or closed.
Note: We run tests on every unit that we produce in our factory. Because of this, your model may default to any of the above colors out of the box. Simply cycle through until you reach your desired internal light color.
Normal Sounds
Your new refrigerator may make noise during normal operation. Most of these
sounds are normal. Hard surfaces like the floor and walls can make the sounds
seem louder than they actually are.
The following describes several sounds you may hear and what may be making
them:
- Rattling noises may come from the flow of the refrigerant or the water line. Items stored on top of the refrigerator can also make noises.
- The high-efficiency compressor may make a pulsating or high-pitched sound.
- Water running from the evaporator to the water bin may make a splashing sound.
- As each cycle ends, you may hear a gurgling sound due to the refrigerant flowing in your refrigerator.
- You may hear air being forced over the condenser by the condenser fan.
Temperature Alarm
If the interior temperature is higher than 73°F (23°C), “HI” is shown on the temperature control panel and the temperature alarm will sound continuously after one (1) hour. This indicates that the inner temperature is too high. If the inner temperature is lower than 25°F (-4°C), “LO” is shown on the temperature display panel and the temperature alarm will sound continuously after fifteen minutes. If one of these situations occurs please reference the troubleshooting section found in this manual or contact Avallon for support.
Door Ajar Alarm
This refrigerator includes a door ajar alarm, which will sound if the door is open for more than three (3) minutes. Leaving the door open for extended periods of time will cause poor cooling performance and may shorten the life of the refrigerator. Keep the doors closed as much as possible
Defrosting
Note that under most refrigerating settings, the unit will automatically defrost under most ambient conditions. However, on colder settings, some frost may build up. Additionally, the more humid the ambient conditions, the more frost may build up. Keep the door closed as much as possible and avoid opening the door unnecessarily to minimize frost build-up. If frost is preventing the door from closing properly, you may need to power the unit off until the frost melts. Use a soft absorbent towel to dry the unit.
Warning: Never attempt to remove frost with a sharp object!
