IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

When using electrical devices, the basic safety measures must always be observed, including the following:

  • READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

  • In the unlikely event that the device should become defective, never try to carry out the repair yourself. Always have repairs carried out by a qualified technician.
    Make sure the voltage in your outlet is the same as the voltage indicated on the appliance’s rating label.

  • Always switch off the appliance before unplugging it from the wall socket. Remove the plug by gripping it – do not pull the cord.

  • Turn the power off and remove the plug when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning.

  • Do not touch the plates with the non-stick coating when the appliance is on.

  • The external surface may become hot when the appliance is in use. To avoid burns, do not touch these parts of the device.

  • Do not use your appliance with an extension cord unless this cord has been checked and tested by a qualified technician or service person.

  • Supervision by an adult is necessary if the appliance is used by children or persons with disabilities. .

  • Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • Never leave an appliance unattended while in use.

  • Do not use an appliance for any purpose other than its intended use.

  • Do not place an appliance on or near a hot gas flame, electric element, or any other appliance.

  • Do not let the power cord of an appliance hang over the edge of a table or bench top or touch any hot surfaces.

  • Appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged has malfunctioned or has been damaged in any manner. In order to avoid the risk of an electric shock, never try to repair the appliance yourself. Take it to an authorized service station for examination and repair.

  • Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.

  • Unplug the unit when finished using it.

  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE

Before using the appliance check that the cooking plates are clean and free of dust. If necessary, wipe over with a damp cloth.
IMPORTANT: When your appliance is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is normal with many heating appliances. This does not affect the safety  of your appliance.
PREHEATING

  1. Place the waffle maker on a flat, level surface.
  2. This appliance must be connected to an earthed socket.
  3. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. The red and green indicator lights are going on and the appliance heats up.
  4. The temperature reaches the right temperature when the green light goes off.

BAKING WAFFLES

  1. Prepare the waffle dough according to the recipe on the dough packaging.
  2. Preheat the appliance as described in ‘Preheating’.
  3. Open the waffle iron and grease the plates lightly with oil or baking spray.
  4. Pour the waffle batter into the center and close immediately the appliance. The batter will go evenly distributed over the whole surface of the plate.
  5. Bake the waffles until they are the desired color. Normal cooking time is approximately 3-5 minutes. This depends on the dough used and your personal taste.
  6. To remove the waffles, always use a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use a sharp object or metal, as this will damage the non-stick surface of cooking plates.
  7. After use, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before storage.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Do not hold onto the handle of the appliance during cooking, as this will prevent the batter from rising.
  • During cooking, the thermostat indicator light (green) will come on and got off again at regular intervals in order to ensure the cooking temperature remains constant.

CLEANING AND CARE

  1. Clean the waffle maker after each use.
  2. Always turn off the power and remove the plug after- and before cleaning.
  3. The cooking plates are coated with a non-stick cooking surface, therefore little cleaning is required. Simply wipe cooking plates over with a damp cloth.
  4. Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquid.
  5. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, powders, or cleaners.
  6. Do not place it in the dishwasher.

STORAGE

  • Always unplug the appliance before storage.
  • Always make sure the appliance is cool and dry before storage.
  • Wind the cord around the appliance and store the appliance vertically to save space.

Disposal of waste equipment by users. This symbol means do not dispose of your product with your other household waste, instead, you should protect human health and the environment by handing over your waste equipment to a designated collection point for the recycling of your waste and electronic equipment.
