WARRANTY

This appliance has a 10 year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty.
If your device breaks down within the 10-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it.

RECYCLING INFORMATION

This symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it must be brought
to the applicable collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product. The packaging is recyclable. Please treat the packaging ecologically.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:

  • Read all instructions carefully. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

    • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • farm houses;
    • by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    • bed and breakfast type environments.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • This appliance shall not be used by children from 0 to 16 years. This appliance can be used by children aged from 16
    years and above if they are continuously supervised. This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 16 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be carried out by children.

  • This appliance should be positioned in a stable situation with the handles positioned to avoid spillage of the hot liquids.

  • The appliance must be disconnected from its power source when not in use, during service and when replacing parts. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
    The surface(s) marked with this symbol are liable to get hot during use. It is advised not to touch the surfaces of the appliance other than the handles to avoid burns.

  • Make sure all packaging materials and promotional stickers have been removed before using the appliance for the first time.

  • Never leave the appliance unattended while it is functioning.

  • Do not use or store this appliance outdoors.

  • Do not move the appliance while in use or when the oil is still hot. Allow to cool before moving the appliance.

  • Do not use this appliance for other than intended use.

  • Check carefully that the voltage and frequency of the power net match the indications on the rating label of the appliance.

  • The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded in accordance with all local standards and requirements.

  • This appliance is to be operated filled with frying oil to at least the minimum oil level and not exceeding the maximum level marked on the appliance.

  • We only recommend the use of frying oil for this appliance. Use frying fat at your own risk. Neither the manufacturer, importer, or the supplier may be held liable for any injury or damage caused by the usage of wrong oil or fat.

  • Only use the connector or unit with incorporated thermostat delivered with the appliance.

  • Only use the utensils delivered with the appliance.

  • Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug or in the event the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the DOMO Service Department or its service agent for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. Do not try to repair the appliance yourself.

  • To protect against electrical shock or burns, do not immerse unit, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.

  • A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. DO NOT USE WITH AN EXTENSION CORD.

  • Unwrap the cord completely to prevent overheating of the cord.

  • Do not let the power supply cord hang over the edge of a counter, or touch hot surfaces.

  • Do not allow the power cord supply to run underneath or around the unit.

  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or sink, or in a heated boven.

  • Do not place near flammable materials, gases or explosives.

  • Do not place near objects that may catch fire such as curtains, towels … .

  • Make sure the appliance is correctly assembled, then plug the cord in the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn controls to “OFF” or “0” position, then remove the plug from the wall. Never pull the cord or appliance to remove the plug from the socket.

  • It is necessary to replace the oil after 7 to 10 frying sessions.

  • Do not use the appliance if there is any water in it or if the parts are still wet after cleaning.

  • Failure to maintain this appliance in a clean condition could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation.

  • During frying, hot steam may come through the filter, or slight splashing may occur. Keep hands and face at a safe distance during operation.

  • To avoid oil splashes, you must first remove the excess ice from frozen foods.

  • In case of fire, never try to extinguish with water. Remove the cord, close the lid and smother the flames with a damp cloth.

  • Any injury or damage caused by failure to comply with these rules are at your own risk.

  • Neither the manufacturer, importer, or the supplier may be held liable.

  • CAUTION: the lid of the fryer is a dust cover and may only be put on the device when it is cold and not in operation.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

  1. Before first use clean the deep fryer according to the instructions.

  2. Place the deep fryer on a horizontal, heat resistant surface.

  3. Place the handle in the horizontal position until it clicks.

  4. Open the lid and remove the basket.

  5. Fill the frying pan with liquid oil, suitable for heating, until the oil level is situated between the “MIN” and “MAX” level indicated in the body. Don’t ever use the appliance when there is too much or too little oil in the body.

  6. Place the basket back in the body.

  7. Place the plug in the outlet.(220-240V~ 50Hz), the red light will switch on.

  8. Turn the appliance on by using the temperature switch.

  9. Select the desired temperature with the temperature knob. The oil will start to heat up. The green light will come on when the desired tempeature is reached. The deep fryer is now ready for use. When the temperature of the oil gets too low the indication light of the temperature will go off and will light up again when the desired temperature is reached again.

  10. Place the food you wish to fry in the basket, place the basket carefully back into the oil. Only place food into the basket until it is half full, for a better baking result.
    Note: to preserve the quality of the oil it is recommended to spice up the food after frying.

  11. Remove the basket carefully out of the oil and check if the food is thoroughly cooked.

  12. Let the food drip out for 10 to 12 seconds.

AFTER USE

  1. Turn off the appliance by turning the temperature knob to the minimum position.
  2. Remove the plug from the outlet.
  3. Place the basket back in the body. Close the lid.
  4. Wait for the deep fryer to cool down completely before storing it.

Unplug the appliance before cleanning it.

CLEANING THE OUTSIDE OF THE APPLIANCE

  • Clean the outside of the deep fryer after every use with a damp cloth, soaked in a bit of soapy water.
  • The control panel cannot be put in water or any other liquid.

CLEANING THE INSIDE OF THE APPLIANCE
Clean the inside of the deep fryer every time you change the oil. Clean it as described below, to keep your deep fryer in optimal condition.

  1. Remove the lid.
  2. Take out the frying basket.
  3. Remove the heating element from the body.
  4. Pour the oil out of the pan. Remove crusts or stains with household paper. The tough stains can be removed with a kitchen sponge, nylon brush or cloth, with mild soapy water.
  5. The frying basket, lid with filter and frying pan are dishwasher safe.
  6. Dry the lid, frying basket and pan thoroughy before placing them back into the deep fryer.

MAINTAINING THE APPLIANCE

  1. The temperature and the frequence in use are the most important factors for deterioration of the frying fat.
  2. For tasteful and healthy frying it is advisable to change the oil regularly. Furthermore, regular changing of the oil will make cleaning of the body and the basket a lot easier.
  3. Some food such as food coated with breadcrumbs or spicy foods and meats, can make the oil deteriorate faster. Change the oil when it gets dark or dirty or starts smoking or foams abnormally.
  4. Change the oil completely, don’t mix old oil with new oil.
  5. Filtering the oil regularly will improve the quality of the fryed foods, but won’t make the oil deteriorate slower.
  6. Store the frying fat in a cool dark place. When you seldomly use your deep fryer, change the oil every 5 to 6 months.
  7. Dispose of the frying oil according to the regulation in your town. Never pour old oil into the sink or toilet. This could block the drainpipe and is not ecologically responsible.

Deep frying oil – Change after +/-
Arachide oil 8 à 10 uses
Vegetable oil 10 à 12 uses
Olive oil 8 à 10 uses
Note: The above mentioned recommendations are for an average family and a normal use.

CULINARY TIPS

PREPARING A FEW RECIPES
Ever time you heat up the oil, this will diminish the quality of the oil. Switch off the deep fryer after every use. Replace the oil regularly, especially when the oil is dark or dirty, or when it foams abnormally.

FRENCH FRIES

  1. Use thick potatoes which aren’t too fresh. Cut them up in slices. Clean the slices under running water and dry them off.
  2. Bake your fries in two times :
    • First frying : 150-160°C : 5 tot 10 minutes (depending on the amount)
    • Second frying : 175 – 185°C : 2 tot 4 minutes

Let them drip out thoroughly before serving.

FROZEN FOODS

  1. Frozen foods cool of the oil strongly. Therefore don’t use any large portions.
  2. Shake the food above the sink to remove most of the ice.
  3. Place the temperature switch to 180°C. Place the basket slowly into the frying pan, prevent strong foaming of the oil.
