PTZ Installation
Thank you for purchasing PTZ Cam’s UV510a, perhaps the finest camera available
as we hope you will soon find out.
Setting up your camera should be a simple and straightforward process of
unpacking and mounting on a tripod, wall bracket, or just placing it on a
desk. The screw hole in the bottom of the unit is a 1/4″ diameter 20 thread
hole (a common tripod size but also available from your hardware store and
online).
The unit can be powered by the included power supply or by POE. Any POE switch
should suffice as there are no special requirements like POE+ or POE++. Power
Over Ethernet gives you the advantage of supplying control and power and
receiving video all through one cable which can make installation easier.
Once you have your camera mounted and powered you will need to configure the
network settings of the camera to match those of your network. The default IP
address of the camera is 192.168.5.163. Each camera needs its own IP address.
If you have 3 cameras and a network of 192.168.1.x then the cameras will have
to be set to 192.168.1.163, 1.164, 1.165, etc. You can also just turn on DHCP
if you have a router supplying that for your cameras and the router will
assign the IP address.
Configuring the camera’s Network Settings requires a few steps you might not
be familiar with. To access the camera’s web UI you will need a browser on the
same network as the camera. Simply put the IP address of your computer will
need to be 192.168.5.x (where x is some number between 1 and 255 but not 163).
How do we do this?
Windows:
Open Control Panel and select Network and Sharing Center. If you don’t see it,
first select Network and Internet.
Choose Change adapter settings.
Double-click the connection that you want to change the IP address on Select
Properties. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Change to Use the following IP Address and enter 192.168.5.100, 255.255.255.0,
192.168.5.1 and you can leave the rest blank.
Click Ok to close this dialog and then enter 192.168.5.163 into your nearest
browser. User and Pass is admin.
Click Configuration. Click Ethernet. Set the IP address or select DHCP
The IP address needs to be on the same network as the devices you intend to
connect with. For example, if you have a vMix machine at 192.168.1.127 then
you need to set the camera to 192.168.1.x network for them to talk to each
other and share NDI.
Click Save, Click Reboot, Reboot.
Put the IP address of your computer back to what it was and now you should be
able to type in the address of the camera(s) in your browser on your normal
network and access their control and NDI.
