Setting the Noise Limit

You can set the SoundEar II to provide a visual warning, consisting of a flashing read light, to one of 16 different noise limits ranging from 45 to 115 dB(A).

Mounting and Powering

The microphone is located at the bottom of the sign, ensure that it is not covered up. Also avoid mounting close to absorbing materials.
With a power outlet nearby, mount the sign on the wall using an 8-9mm screw at a height of 150-200cm. Ensure it is securely mounted. A VESA mount is also available for more secure or corner mounting.
Connect to the power outlet using the 24VDC adapter that is included.

  • Green: Sign is on and level is acceptable
  • Yellow: Noise level approaching the limit

  • No disturbing noise
    High concentration level: 35-45 dB(A)

  • Teaching, office or customer service
    Unhindered conversation and concentration: 45-55 dB(A)

  • Industrial work without noisy machinery
    Storage, mounting and laboratory work: 60-70 dB(A)

  • Day care facilities
    Industrial work with noisy machinery: 75-85 dB(A)

  • Concerts, rehearsal rooms
    Music schools (short term): 90-105 dB(A)
