is designed. Installation procedures vary depending on the type of car. Please
verify that the Akrapovic product and this installation manual correspond to
the type of your car.
· For exhaust system only: the exhaust system can get extremely hot during and
after it is used. Make sure not to touch the exhaust system until it is
completely cool. Allow the exhaust and engine to cool down before beginning
installation.

and installation process, as well as any other work done on the Akrapovic
product!
REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM OR OTHER VEHICLE’S STOCK PARTS:
The process of uninstalling the original exhaust system or other parts may
vary depending on the existing exhaust system or other vehicle parts. Please
follow the original vehicle manufacturer’s workshop manual for uninstalling
the original exhaust system or other parts. If you for any reason decide
otherwise, please note that any information provided in this respect herein
should be considered as general information provided for your convenience
only. Akrapovic shall not assume any liability or responsibility with regard
to uninstalling your existing exhaust system or other parts, warranty coverage
of such exhaust system or other parts vehicle or their further fitness for
use. In case your Akrapovic exhaust system or other vehicle parts may not be
used on certain roads or under certain conditions, please keep the stock (or
other) exhaust system or other parts that you can use in such circumstances
legally.

REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM: Put the vehicle onto a car lift. CAUTION:
ensure that the car is lifted safely and properly in order to avoid the risk
of vehicle damage, injury, or even death!
1. Unscrew the marked bolts on both sides of the vehicle and carefully remove
the marked air ducts off the vehicle (F 01, 02, 03). CAUTION: make sure not to
injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

2. Mark the muffler’s inlet pipes at the impressed dots, as shown, carefully
cut the pipes at the cutting lines, disconnect the exhaust valves’ connectors,
unscrew the muffler’s rubber brackets and carefully remove the muffler off the
vehicle (F 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09).

3. Carefully remove the rubber brackets, unscrew exhaust valves’ servo motors
off the stock exhaust system and remove the valves’ spring connections (F 10,
11, 12, 13). INSTALLATION TIP: for easier dismounting, lubricate the rubber
brackets (WD40®). WD-40® is a trademark of the WD-40 Company.

5. Open the trunk and remove the trunk floor and left trunk trim panel, to
get access to electrical wiring harness; check vehicle manufacturer workshop

2. Disconnect all connectors from Controller TNG unit; the actuators’ wiring
harnesses must be lead from the underneath the vehicle, into the trunk (F 40).

3. Lead the Akrapovic left and right valves’ harnesses into the trunk (make
sure, that Akrapovic grommet plugs into place correctly); connect the
Akrapovic connectors to the stock connectors’ as shown (F 41, 42, 43, 44, 45,

4. Carefully separate the GRAY and BLACK wires from the marked harness (F 47,
48). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage the wires during this

5. Install and connect the Controller TNG and CAN sniffer components in the
trunk, as shown; secure all wiring and components in place using tie wraps
from Akrapovic installation kit and reconnect all connectors to the Controller
TNG unit and reinstall the harness cover (F 49, 50, 51, 52). IMPORTANT: make
sure to secure all Control Kit components in such a way, that they won’t touch
any hot or moving parts of the vehicle!

through the CAN sniffer’s wire grooves as shown and reinstall the cover (F

6. Precisely align and apply the drill template stickers from Akrapovic
installation kit onto the rear bumper tail pipes cut-outs, as shown and
carefully drill at center marks, using 3 mm drill bit (F 53, 54, 55, 56, 57).
CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle
during this process! IMPORTANT: be very precise with aligning and applying of
the template stickers!

7. Remove the template stickers and carefully re-drill all four tail pipes’
holes, using 7 mm drill bit (F 58). IMPORTANT: make sure you hold the power
drill perpendicular to the lid’s surface during drilling! Drill the holes at
high power drill speed and with sharp drill bit! IMPORTANT: use the industrial
vacuum cleaner during drilling, to extract drilling chips! CAUTION: make sure
not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

8. Prepare the tail pipes’ installation material (Akrapovic installation kit)
and install Akrapovic Tail Pipes onto the rear bumper, using marked M5x10
bolts; adjust and center the tail pipe in respect to the bumper’s tail pipe
cut out, before tightening the bolts (F 59, 60, 61, 62). CAUTION: make sure
not to injure yourself or damage the tail pipe or bumper during this process!

9. Reinstall the stock heat shields; check vehicle manufacturer workshop
manual for details and correct tightening torques (F 63). CAUTION: make sure
not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

10. Attach the valve’s wiring and connectors onto the heat shields, as shown
and secure them, using tie wraps from Akrapovic installation kit (F 64, 65).

11. Slide the double clamps from Akrapovic installation kit onto the stock
pipes, as shown (F 66). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage

12. Assemble the stock rubber brackets and stock exhaust valve actuators onto
the Akrapovic muffler, using stock spring connections and bolts, as shown (F
67, 68, 69, 70). INSTALLATION TIP: for easier mounting, lubricate the rubber

13. Protect the sharp edges of all four muffler outlets (using duct tape or
equivalent), as shown (F 71). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or
damage the muffler during this process!

14. Carefully install the Akrapovic muffler onto the vehicle; tighten both
rubber brackets onto the chassis, connect the exhaust valve actuators, align
the muffler in respect to the chassis, center the double clamps in the middle
of the joints, tighten the clamps to the specified torque and remove the duct
tape off the muffler outlets (F 72, 73, 74, 75). CAUTION: make sure not to
injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

15. Remove the marked stock press-on nuts from air ducts and both sides of
rear bumper (F 76, 77, 78). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or

16. Assemble the left and right Akrapovic tail pipe brackets with press-on
nuts from installation kit (F 79). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself
or damage the brackets during this process!

17. Install the brackets onto both tail pipes, using M6x10 bolts and safety
washers from installation kit (F 80).

18. Install air ducts onto the vehicle, using stock bolts (check vehicle
manufacturer workshop manual for details and correct tightening torques) and
M6x16 bolts from Akrapovic installation kit, on marked positions (F 81, 82).

FINAL INSTALLATION: IMPORTANT: reinstall the dismounted or partially removed
stock parts (wheel arches, bumper etc.); check vehicle manufacturer workshop
manual for correct procedures and tightening torques.
IMPORTANT: make sure all the nuts and bolts are sufficiently tightened. In
case the Akrapovic product touches the cowling or other parts, repeat the
adjustment of the product or contact your authorized dealer.
IMPORTANT: clean all Akrapovic product’s surfaces before the first start of
the engine or the stains will burn onto the surfaces!
IMPORTANT: in case any component of the Akrapovic product is equipped with DMC
code sticker, the sticker and glue residue should be removed from the
component, before first use!
MAINTENANCE OF THE AKRAPOVIC PRODUCT: 1. Clean all Akrapovic product’s
surfaces. Cleaning will prevent spots from burning onto the
surface. Do not use aggressive chemical cleaners, because they can damage the
surface: · Titanium surfaces (titanium muffler’s outer sleeve, titanium pipes
etc): use a soft cloth
sprayed with a multi-purpose spray lubricant (WD-40® or equivalent), then
wipe with a soft dry cloth.
· Carbon-fiber surfaces (carbon-fiber outlet cap, carbon-fiber muffler’s outer
sleeve, carbon-fiber bracket etc): use a soft dry cloth sprayed with all
purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
· Painted surfaces (painted outlet cap, painted muffler’s outer sleeve,
painted bracket etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner,
then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
· Chrome plated surfaces (chrome plated outlet cap, chrome plated muffler’s
outer sleeve etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner,
then wipe with a soft dry cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING: Problem

Exhaust gas leaks out of the muffler/pipe clamp connections
loosened clamp
connection is not completely joined
No supply
Valves are not moving

Solution tighten the clamp to specified torque
tap the connection into place and tighten the clamp to specified torque
Check green LED on the Controller TNG.
If the LED is off:

Check electrical connection
and connectors
· valves
Check fuse for exhaust
Check green LED on the Controller TNG.
If the LED is continuously ON:

There are no errors
detected.
If the LED is continuously blinking:
·
There is an error detected.
Connect the Controller TNG to PC via
USB cable and use Akrapovic Tools
diagnostic utility. This action can be
performed only by authorized Akrapovic
dealers.
