Using Your Kambrook Heater
Before First Use
Remove your heater from its carton and associated protective wrapping. Unwind
the cord to its full length and remove any protective cardboard or foam that
may have been used to minimize transportation damage. Place the heater on a
firm, level surface in a stable upright position. Visually inspect the air
inlet and outlets to ensure no foreign material is blocking these areas. The
heater must always be operated with the rear air filter in position.
Turning Your Heater On
Plug the cord into a 230V or 240V electrical outlet. Be sure the plug fits
tightly as a loose fit will cause overheating and damage the plug.
NOTE: To avoid an electrical circuit overload, it is recommended that no
other appliances are plugged into the same circuit with your heater when you
switch the unit on.
Turn the heater on by pressing the main power ‘ON/OFF switch, located at the
base of the heater, to the ‘ON’ position; the heater will “beep” once and the
LCD display screen will illuminate for at least 30 seconds indicating that the
power is on and in standby mode. To start the heater working, press the
‘POWER’ button once; the unit will be in HIGH heat mode (2000 watts). The LCD
screen will display the current room temperature.
Pressing the ‘MODE’ button once will set the heater into the AUTO mode. AUTO
mode allows the heater to maintain the desired set room temperature. In this
setting, the heater will automatically cycle on and off to maintain
temperature (see page 10 under Setting the Variable Temperature).
Pressing the ‘MODE’ button twice will set the heater into the FAN mode, and
the LCD screen will only show the current room temperature.
NOTE: FAN mode is for fan-only operation with no output of heat.
Pressing the ‘MODE’ button three times will cause the heater to go into the
LOW heat mode (1000W). o turn the heater OFF, press the ‘POWER’ button once.
Turn the main
power ‘ON/OFF switch to the ‘OFF’ position and turn it off the power outlet
and remove the plug from the power outlet.

- Press the ‘MODE’ button until the heater is set to AUTO mode.
- To adjust the temperature settings, press the ‘TEMPERATURE’ (+) button to increase and (-) to decrease the temperature. The desired temperature can be set between 15°C and 35°C.
- When the air temperature reaches 2–3°C above the chosen set temperature, the heater will automatically cut out and the LCD screen turns OFF, however, the fan may continue to run for approximately 15 seconds to cool the heater.
- When the air temperature drops below the set temperature, to maintain the set temperature the unit will begin heating again.
Using the Remote Control
The remote control buttons operate in the same way as those on the heater
control panel.
On first use, remove the transparent plastic protector that separates the
Lithium battery from the connectors.
-
A CR2025 3V Lithium battery is provided with the remote. When it is time to replace the battery, open the battery compartment at the back of the remote, pushing the small arched groove to the right and simultaneously pulling out the battery compartment cover by pushing the rectangular groove.
-
Insert the battery, paying attention to the polarity (+ and -). Reinsert the battery compartment into the remote control ensuring that the + symbol is facing upwards when inserted. Make sure the battery compartment is correctly secured.
-
To use the remote control, point it at the display screen on the heater and used it within five meters.
HINT: When correctly inserted, the text on the battery will be facing the
bottom of the remote and the compartment is fitted correctly when it slides in
all the way.
WARNING FOR BUTTON BATTERIES: Keep out of reach of children.
WARNING: Swallowing may lead to serious injury in as little as 2 hours or
death, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the esophagus.
WARNING: If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button
battery immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26
for fast, expert advice.
WARNING: Examine devices and make sure the battery compartment is
correctly secured, e.g. that the screw or other mechanical fastener is
tightened. Do not use if the compartment is not secure.
WARNING: Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely. Flat
batteries can still be dangerous.
WARNING: Tell others about the risk associated with button batteries and
how to keep their children safe.
Safety Tip-Over Cut-Out Switch
There is a tip-over switch fitted to the base of the heater, if the heater is
accidentally tipped over the heater will stop operating. Once the heater is
placed back into an upright Position the heater will be in standby mode and
the settings will need to be selected again.
ThermoGuard Overheating Safety Device
Your heater is fitted with a safety device that switches off the heater in
the event of overheating. Should this heater stop working, turn off the heater
and inspect the air inlet and
outlet for blockages. Wait until the unit is fully cooled for the protection
system to rest before attempting to restart the heater. If the heater fails to
operate or the safety device switches off again. Return the heater to your
nearest service center for examination or repair.
Care and Maintenance
- Ensure that the main power ‘ON/OFF switch of the heater is switched OFF and the unit is disconnected from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Use a clean, dry cloth to clean the external surfaces of the heater. If the heater has collected dust or dirt inside the unit or around the elements, have the unit cleaned by a qualified service agent. Do not operate the heater in this condition.
- Do not attempt to open the case of the heater at any time as there are no customer serviceable parts inside. When not in use, store the heater (preferably in its original box) in a cool, clean, and dry location.
Cleaning the Filter
-
Your Kambrook Ceramic Tower Heater comes with a mesh filter located at the rear of the heater to help keep dust and debris away from the working parts. It is recommended to regularly check your heater’s filter for clogging and dust build-up. The filter should be checked after every use to ensure efficient heating performance.
-
Always switch the main ‘ON/OFF switch of the heater to OFF, then disconnect from the power outlet prior to removing the filter for cleaning.
-
To access the filter, ensure the heater is in the upright position and then remove the filter cover by pulling down on the two release levers at the top of the cover and then carefully pull out the cover until it is completely free from the heater.
-
It is then necessary to separate the mesh from the filter cover. Once separated, shake both the filter cover and the mesh filter into a rubbish receptacle until all fine dust
particles and debris are removed. Wipe over with a soft, dry cloth if required to remove particles. -
To replace, reinsert the mesh filter to the filter cover, align the two tabs at the back of the filter cover with the two holes at the back of the heater and then press down on the cover until it “clicks”.
Hints & Tips to Retain Heat in Your Home
- Don’t overheat your home. The temperature of a heated room in winter should be 18–21°C.
- Your heater will work more efficiently if you stick to Kambrook’s recommended clearance spaces.
- Choose the right size heater for the room type you want to heat. Zone off unoccupied rooms by closing doors and only heat the main living areas. Fit window coverings like curtains to halve winter heat loss.
- Put draft stoppers, such as a rolled-up towel, at the bottom of outside doorways to keep out cold air.
- Keep the heat in and the cold out by installing wall and ceiling insulation. Avoid placing items too close to the heater (both at the front and back) for optimal airflow.
