WARNINGS & SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Paddle sports can be dangerous and physically demanding. Participation in paddle sports can result in serious injury or death. Consult your physician before beginning paddle sports training. To use this product with maximum safety, please read and follow these instructions:

  • Never wrap the leash around your hand or fingers.
  • Applying force via the leash can otherwise cause serious injury to your hand or fingers, in the worst cases even amputation.
  • A SUP leash can get caught on objects underwater, especially on reefs or rocks.
  • To reduce the risk of drowning, practice quickly opening the velcro fastener at the ankle before using the leash.
  • SUP leashes are not intended for use in rivers with current or white water rapids.
  • Be trained in first aid before using this product and carry a first aid and rescue/safety kit.
  • Do not exceed your abilities as a paddler. Be aware of your limitations.
  • Never use this product in waves unless you are properly trained.
  • Attend courses regularly to keep your knowledge and skills up to date.
  • Do not consume any mind-altering substances (e.g. alcohol, drugs) before or while using this product.
  • Always wear a suitable buoyancy aid.
  • Dress appropriately for the weather conditions to prevent hypothermia or heat stroke.
  • Always hold on to your SUP paddle – the SUP paddle is an important part of your manoeuvrability and safety. A floating paddle can be a hazard to others in the water or watercraft.
  • Always check the condition of your fin to ensure it is smooth and free of cut edges that can seriously injure you or others.
  • Only use additional equipment approved by the manufacturer.
  • Never paddle alone.
  • Be aware of changing wave conditions, tidal changes, dangerous currents and river water levels.
  • Never paddle at high tide.
  • Know about unfamiliar waters and breakwaters before leaving the shore.
  • The user of this product acknowledges that he/she understands and assumes the risk associated with paddling. The manufacturer assumes no liability for any damage or injury to you or any other person resulting from the use, misuse, lack of judgment or improper application of this product.

USE

Attach the end of the safety line to the D-ring of your paddle board and the other end to your ankle with the cuff. Make sure the velcro fastener is tightly closed and fits securely and comfortably. Make sure that all components – cuff, connector modules and leash – are firmly connected and not damaged before use.
