Precautions and Safety Warnings
Please read this manual carefully before using your UT240-600 Power +AV
distribution plate, 1U. Keep this manual handy for future reference. These
safety instructions are to ensure the long life of your UT240600 and to
prevent fire and shock hazards.
Please read them carefully and heed all warnings.
1.1 General
- Qualified Altinex service personnel or their authorized representatives must perform all service.
1.2 Installation
- Place in a dry area away from dust and moisture.
- To prevent fire or shock, do not expose unit to water or moisture. Do not place in direct sunlight, near heaters or heat-radiating appliances, or near any liquid. Exposure to direct sunlight, smoke, or steam can harm internal components.
- Handle carefully; dropping or jarring can damage the unit.
- Do not pull any cables that are attached to the UT240-600.
- Install all cables according with the instructions.
1.3 Cleaning
- Clean surfaces with a dry cloth. Never use strong detergents or solvents such as alcohol or thinner. Do not use a wet cloth or water to clean the unit.

Installation Procedures
The UT240-600 is 1U high plate for use in 19” wide mounting rack, multimedia
podium, wall-mount rack, etc.
Step 1. Locate position for the UT240-600, but do NOT install until
cables are ready.
Step 2. Prepare cables/connectors for ports using high-quality components
for best results and durability. Make cables long enough to allow for service
and routing. Do NOT allow cables to just hang from the UT240.
Step 3. For XLR connectors/cables, remove keystone adapters installed in
the port openings by removing M3 nuts and screws (two each) from the back of
the plate.
Step 4. For USB charging ports, install the dual USB charger provided
with the unit into the rear AC socket. Connect the two USB cables provided to
the USB 2.0 couplers
installed in the plate.
Step 5. Secure the unit to the mounting rack using the four screws and
four washers provided with the unit.
Step 6. Make any necessary connections to the ports.
Step 7. Connect the unit’s power cable to a power outlet.
Step 8. Use custom labels by writing name and applying it into recess
above required port if needed.

The UT240-600 is a 1U high full rack wide power/charging plate for AV racks.
There are three power sockets providing up to 12A total power. Two power
sockets are located on the front side of plate for convenient access. One
power socket and a single power cord are located on the back side of the
plate.
Two of the eight customizable ports are designed as USB charging ports. Just
install the dual output USB charger (5V, Total 3.4A Output) provided with the
unit into the rear AC socket. Then, connect two USB 2.0 couplers to the USB
charger using the USB cables (USB A-M to USB -M) provided with the unit.
All eight ports can be easily customized in the field using different types of
connectors and/or cables. Simply remove the blank covers and then install
Keystone ports. All port openings are compatible with XLR type connectors or
Keystone snap-in connectors.
For XLR connectors, remove a keystone adapter connector installed in one the
port openings. To do this, remove M3 nuts and screws (two per each port) from
the back side of the plate. The removed hardware can be used for installation
of XLR connectors.
The UT240-600’s unique design allows users to reposition or remove the
magnetic labels. There are 20 blank magnetic labels provided with the unit.
Write the name of your custom port on the label. Apply labels into the
recessed areas above the snap-in ports. Preprinted custom magnetic labels are
available at an additional cost.
For your convenience, UT240-600 accessories include 4 size 10-32 screws and 4
size 10-32 washers for rack mounting the unit.

Operation
The UT240-600 requires no adjustments for performance. Once set-up, the UT240-600 will work trouble-free without user intervention.
