IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions. Misuse of appliances may result in personal injury.

  2. To protect against the risk of electrical shock, do not put the Motor Body of the appliance, USB Adapter, USB Cable or Battery in water or other liquid.

  3. European Union only: Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  4. European Union only: This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance out of reach of children. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.

  5. Remove the Battery before assembling or disassembling and before cleaning. To unplug the adapter, grasp the plug and pull it from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.

  6. Avoid contacting moving parts.

  7. Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the Battery.

  8. Do not operate any appliance or USB Adapter with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact KitchenAid at their customer service telephone number for information on examination, repair, or adjustment. This will ensure that the safety of the appliance and accessories is maintained.

  9. The use of accessories/attachments not recommended or sold by KitchenAid may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

  10. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter.

  11. Do not let the cord contact hot surfaces, including the stove.

  12. Keeps hands and utensils out of the container while blending to prevent the possibility of severe injury to persons or damage to the unit. A scraper may be used but must be used only when the unit is not running.

  13. Blades are sharp. Handle Carefully.

  14. When mixing liquids, especially hot liquids, use a tall container or make small quantities at a time to reduce spillage.

  15. To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutting blade on the base without first putting the bowl properly in place.

  16. Be certain the cover is securely locked in place before operating the appliance.

  18. Do not incinerate this appliance even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.

  19. Keep hands and utensils away from the cutting blade while chopping food to reduce the risk of severe injury to a person, or damage to the appliance. A scraper may be used, but only when the appliance is not running.

  20. Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

  21. Refer to the “Care and Cleaning” section for instructions on cleaning the surfaces in contact with food.

  22. When mixing liquids, especially hot liquids, use a tall container or make small quantities at a time to reduce spillage.

  23. Disconnect the Battery from the appliance before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.

  24. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the
    off-position before connecting to the Battery, picking up or carrying the appliance. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the switch or energizing an appliance that has the switch ON invites accidents.

  25. Recharge only with the adapter specified by the manufacturer. The adapter that is suitable for one type of Battery may create a risk of fire when used with another Battery.

  26. Use appliances only with KitchenAid 12 V Battery. The use of any other batteries may create a risk of injury and fire.

  27. When Battery is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the Battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

  28. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the Battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the Battery may cause irritation or burns.

  29. Do not use a Battery or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.

  30. Do not expose a Battery or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 129°C may cause an explosion.

  31. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the Battery or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the Battery and increase the risk of fire.

  32. Never service damaged batteries. Service of batteries should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorised service providers.

  33. Do not use the appliance in rain or wet conditions. Do not expose to rain — store indoors.

  34. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

  35. Do not operate the Blending Arm, Chopper attachment, or Whisk continuously for more than 1 minute.

  36. When emptying the bowl or during cleaning, be careful if hot liquid is poured into the food processor or blender as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to sudden steaming.

  37. Remove empty Batteries from the appliance and safely dispose.

  38. If the appliance is stored unused for a long period, remove the Battery.

  39. If the Battery leaks, remove the Battery from the appliance and do not use the Battery again.

  40. Rechargeable Batteries are to be removed from the appliance before charging.

  41. IMPORTANT: Use only with approved USB Adapter by market.

  42. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

    • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • farmhouses;
    • by clients in hotels, motels and other residential-type environments;
    • bed and breakfast type environments.

Always dispose of the Battery-operated products according to federal, state, and local regulations. Contact a recycling agency in your area for recycling locations.

GETTING STARTED

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Charge the Battery until it is fully charged.
  2. Clean all the parts and accessories (see “Care and Cleaning” section).
  3. Remove all packaging materials, if present.

NOTE: Some dust may be on the product. This is due to the recycled materials used in packaging. This can be cleaned with a soft towel.

BATTERY CHARGING
USING THE USB CABLE

  1. Attach the USB Cable to the adapter. Connect the other end of the USB Cable to the Battery.
  2. Plug the adapter into a power source.

PRODUCT USAGE

NOTE: Do not place the adapter in an area of extreme heat or cold. It will work best at normal room temperature.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the Variable Speed Controller is not pressed and the Battery is removed before attaching or removing parts or accessories.

  1. Insert the Battery into the Battery slot located at the top of the appliance, and make sure it is aligned. The LED will light and display the Battery level for five seconds, then turn off.

  2. If using a Pan Guard, place it on a flat surface. To insert the Pan Guard, angle the Blending Arm to one side of the mounting clip. Then, gently pull the other mounting clip outward and push down the Blending Arm. Ensure the Mounting Clips are secured into place.

  3. Insert the Blending Arm into the handle and twist it to lock. Press and hold the Unlock Button first, then the Variable Speed Controller to start. Use your free hand to cover the top of the Blender Jar for better stability and to avoid splashing. The LED will light and display the Battery level for five seconds, then turn off.
    NOTE: Do not immerse the Motor Body into liquids or other mixtures.

  4. Use the draw-up motion with the Cordless Hand Blender to move the ingredients within the Jar. Slowly draw it upwards against the side of the Jar. Repeat the process until the ingredients are at the desired consistency.

  5. When finished, press and hold the Battery Unlock Button to remove the Battery.
    TIP: A quick pulse is a second ON and one-second OFF operation. Do not operate the Blending Arm or Whisk continuously for more than 1 minute.

USING THE CHOPPER ATTACHMENT
Use to cut and chop beef, onion, garlic, cheese, carrots, nuts, etc.
NOTE: Recommended volume chopper attachment: raw meat (0.4 lb), cheese (0.2 lb), vegetable (2 cups), quick pulse until desired size.

  1. Insert the Chopper Blade into Chopper Bowl*. Add ingredients to the Bowl. For best results, cut the food items into 3/4″ (2 cm) pieces.
  2. Align the Chopper Attachment with the Motor Body and press together. Do not twist the Motor Body into place.
  3. Press and hold the Unlock Button first, then the Variable Speed Controller to start. For best results, “pulse” the power by pressing and releasing the Variable Speed Controller until ingredients reach the desired consistency.
  4. When chopping is complete, release the Variable Speed Controller.

USING THE WHISK ATTACHMENT
Use the Whisk* to whip cream, beat egg whites, mix instant puddings, vinaigrettes, mousse, or for making mayonnaise.

  1. Insert the Whisk into the Whisk Adapter until it locks in place. Insert the Whisk accessory into the Motor Body and twist it to lock until it clicks.
    Only available with models 5KHBRV05 and 5KHBRV75.

  2. Insert the Cordless Hand Blender into the mixture. Press and hold the Unlock Button first, then the Variable Speed Controller to start.
    NOTE: After whisking is complete, release the Variable Speed Controller; then remove the Cordless Hand Blender from the mixture.

CARE AND CLEANING

IMPORTANT: Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance. Make sure that the Variable Speed Controller is not pressed and the Battery is removed before attaching or removing parts or accessories.

  1. Remove the Blending Arm, Pan Guard, or Whisk Accessory* before cleaning
  2. Dishwasher-safe parts — top rack only: Pan Guard, Chopper Bowl, Whisk, Blender Jar, and Lid. Wash Blender Arm in hot, soapy water.
  3. Wipe the Motor Body with a damp cloth. Mild dish soap may be used, but do not use abrasive cleansers.

SCOPE AND TERMS OF THE GUARANTEE

  • The Guarantor grants the Guarantee for the products mentioned under Section 1.b) which a consumer has purchased from a seller or a company of the KitchenAid-Group within the following countries: U.K., Ireland, or the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
  • The Guarantee period depends on the purchased product and is as follows:
  • One Year full guarantee from date of purchase.

  • The costs of repair, including spare parts, and any postage costs (if applicable) for the delivery of a defect-free product or product part shall be borne by the Guarantor. The Guarantor shall also bear the postage costs for returning the defective product or product part if the Guarantor or the country specific KitchenAid customer service centre requested the return of the defective product or product part. However, the consumer shall bear the costs of appropriate packaging for the return of the defective product or product part.
  • To be able to make a claim under the Guarantee, the consumer must present the receipt or invoice of the purchase of the product.

LIMITATIONS OF THE GUARANTEE

  • The Guarantee applies only to products used for private purposes and not for professional or commercial purposes.
  • The Guarantee does not apply in the case of normal wear and tear, improper or abusive use, failure to follow the instructions for use, use of the product at the wrong electrical voltage, installation and operation in violation of the applicable electrical regulations, and use of force (e.g. blows).
  • The Guarantee does not apply if the product has been modified or converted, e.g. conversions from 120 V products to 220- 240 V products.
  • The provision of Guarantee services does not extend the Guarantee period, nor does it initiate the commencement of a new Guarantee period. The Guarantee period for installed spare parts ends with the Guarantee period for the entire product.
