Get Situated
- Grab your sturdy walking/jogging shoe or work boot that you’ll wear most often with the brace. But don’t put it on just yet. For best comfort, a tall sock that extends above the brace is recommended.
- If wearing pants, roll them up for initial fitting. Once fitted, the pant leg should be on the outside of the brace.
- Determine hinge setting. Your brace has arrived in the locked position, similar to a walking boot. If limited range or full motion is desired, see hinge adjustment instructions on reverse side.
- If you have someone to assist with fitting and adjustments, ask them. It may help, but it’s not required.
Sit
Find a p lace to sit in a standard height chair.
With your shoe and brace in-hand, test the stirrup strap length by inserting
your shoe into the brace.
If you can’t fit the shoe in the brace, loosen the stirrup strap l hole at a
time using the adjustment tools to pry the stirrup strap off the peg.
If there’s extra space between the shoe and brace, tighten l hole at a time.
Note: You may not need to adjust the stirrup strap.
Slide
Put on your shoe.
While seated, bend your knee slightly more than a right angle with your knee
over your toe. Then slide the brace over your shoe from back to front, keeping
your leg in the same position.
IMPORTANT!
Lift the brace up on the heel where it meets the body of the shoe (the sole-
counter junction), approximately 1″ above where the back of the shoe meets the
ground. When in the correct position, you should feel it pop/lock into place
on the back of the shoe.
Strap
Once around the shoe, gauge the tightness of the footplates. They should fit snug.
Feed straps land 2 through the D-Ring and tighten in sequence.
Adjust straps 3 and 4 to center the brace on your leg, framing equal parts ca
lf and shin.
Double-check to ensure your leg is parallel with the uprights.
Feed straps 3 and 4 through the D-Ring and tighten in sequence.
TIP Align D-rings on straps 3 and 4 with the edge of the upright so they
do not contact the leg or get in the way of the hook and loop.
Secure
Re-tighten each strap in same order (7, 2, 3, 4) for comfort and stability.
OPTIONAL STEPS
Once your brace is securely fit, you may trim off excess strap in front of a cut line on straps 7 and 2.
