Installation
To install the JVC CS-DR1721 car stereo speaker, follow these steps:

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS VALID ONLY IN THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND THE COMMONWEALTH OF PUERTO RICO.

WHAT WE WILL DO:
If this product is found to be defective within the warranty period, JVC will repair or replace defective parts with new or rebuilt equivalents at no charge to the original owner. Such repair and replacement services shall be rendered by JVC during normal business hours at JVC-authorized service centers. Parts used for replacement are warranted only for the remainder of the Warranty Period. All products may be brought to a JVC authorized service center on a carry-in basis.

WHAT YOU MUST 00 FOR WARRANTY SERVICE:
Please do not return your product to the retailer. Instead, return your product to the JVC-authorized service center nearest you. If shipping the product to the service center, please be sure to package it carefully, preferably in the original packaging, and include a brief description of the problem(s) and a copy of the proof of purchase to verify the purchase date. WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
This limited warranty provided by JVC does not cover:

Products that have been subject to abuse, accident, alteration, modification, tampering, negligence, misuse, faulty installation, lack of reasonable care, or if repaired or serviced by anyone other than a service facility authorized by JVC to render such service, or if affixed to any attachment not provided with the products, or if the model or serial number has been altered, tampered with, defaced or removed;
Initial installation, installation, and removal of cabinets or mounting systems.
Operational adjustments covered in the Owner’s Manual, normal maintenance, video and audio head cleaning;
Damage that occurs in shipment, due to act of God, and cosmetic damage;
Signal reception problems and failures due to line power surges;
User Removal Memory Devices/Video Pick-up Tubes/CCD Image Sensors are covered for 90 days from the date of purchase;
Accessories;
Batteries (except that Rechargeable Batteries are covered for 90 days from the date of purchase);
Products used for commercial purposes, including, but not limited to rental.
Loss of data resultant from malfunction of hard drive or other data storage device;

There are no express warranties except as listed above.

THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY HEREIN. JVCKENWOOD CANADA INC. (hereafter called “JVC”) gives the following express warranty for each new JVC product distributed in Canada by JVC and sold by an authorized JVC dealer. JVC warrants that this JVC product is free, under normal use and maintenance, from any defects in material and workmanship subject to the following terms and conditions:

To Obtain Warranty Service:
- JVC products requiring service must be presented together with proof of purchase.
- The JVC product must be brought in for service to an authorized JVC Service Centre.
Limitation:
This Warranty shall not apply to:
- Repair or replacement of any cabinets, batteries, plates, connection cords, antennas, dust covers, knobs, speaker grills and speaker cones
- Any defects caused or repairs required as a result of misuse, abusive operation, negligence, improper use, and/or insufficient care.
- Any defect caused or repairs required as a result of not following the instructions in the operation manual.
- Any JVC product tampered with, adjusted, or repaired by any party other than JVC or authorized JVC Service Centre personnel.
- Any JVC products on which the serial number has been defaced, modified, or removed.
- Maintenance, cleaning, or periodic check-up
- Conversion to foreign or domestic voltage or frequency.
- Any JVC product without the Canadian Electrical Safety Regulations ID.
- Any JVC products used for commercial or institutional, rental, or display purposes.
- Parts ….. 1 year (except video head – 90 days)
- Labour … 90 days
- Any JVC product which has been resold and is no longer owned by the original purchaser.
- Product purchased from “outside Canada”, “bankruptcy” or “liquidator”.
- Any defects caused by fire, flood, lightning, power surge, or other events beyond the control of JVC.
- FOR AUTO PRODUCTS
  The warranty does not cover the elimination of car static or electrical interferences, cleaning of the head, adjustments, or labor costs for the removal or reinstallation of the unit for repair.
Standards:
If any defects should be found in a JVC product within the applicable terms, necessary repairs shall be made at no cost to the purchaser for parts or labor when JVC acknowledges that such defects are due to faulty material or workmanship.
Exclusion of All Other Express Warranties:
This warranty constitutes the entire express warranty given by JVC for JVC products and no dealer or service center personnel or his, it’s or their agent or employee is, or are authorized to extend or enlarge this warranty on behalf of JVC.
Disclaimer of Consequential Damage:
To the extent the law permits, JVC disclaims any responsibility for loss of time or use of its product, transportation costs, or any other indirect, incidental, or consequential damage or inconvenience.

CAUTION
To avoid the risk of human injury or property damage, be sure to read and observe the following Safety precautions.

Consult a professional technician to install and connect the speaker. – Incorrect Installation may lead to traffic accidents or malfunctions.
Avoid Installation where the speaker In unstable. -Make sure that the speaker is stationary and does not rattle. Displacement of the speaker may cause injury.
Do not modify the speaker.- Doing so may result in smoke or fire.
Do not place your hands on the speaker.- The speaker becomes hot after an extended operation. Touching it in such a condition may cause burns.
Keep the volume of sound at an optimum level. – Not being able to hear sounds from outside of your car can lead to traffic accidents.
In case of abnormality, stop the use and disconnect the speaker. – If the operation is continued, smoke or fire may result. Disconnect the speaker and ask for servicing.

FOR PROPER INSTALLATION AND USE

Please read the Instructions carefully before using this speaker.

Be careful not to accidentally kick or apply any sort of strong impact to the speaker.
To prevent damaging the speaker, turn off the power of the amplifier before connecting it to the speaker.
Do not use the provided parts for other purposes (Ex. using a speaker cord instead of a power cord). Otherwise, malfunction or fire hazard could result.

Information on Disposal of Old Electrical and Electronic Equipment (applicable for countries that have adopted separate waste collection systems)

Products with the symbol (crossed-out wheeled bin) cannot be disposed of as household waste. Old electrical and electronic equipment should be recycled at a facility capable of handling these items and their waste byproducts.
Contact your local authority for details on locating a recycling facility nearest to you.
Proper recycling and waste disposal will help conserve resources whilst preventing detrimental effects on our health and the environment.

This unit has been properly designed, tested, and inspected before it was shipped to you. If the property is installed and operated in accordance with the instructions furnished, it should give optimum reliable performance.

For Australian Customers
Our Products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The benefits of this warranty are in addition to any rights and remedies imposed by Australian State and Federal legislation that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this warranty is to be interpreted as excluding, restricting, or modifying any State or Federal legislation applicable to the supply of goods and services which cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.

For New Zealand Customers
The benefits of the express warranty described below are in addition to your statutory rights and remedies under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 that cannot be excluded. If you are acquiring a Product for the purposes of a business, to the extent permitted by law, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply. Otherwise, nothing in this warranty is to be interpreted as excluding, or restricting, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. To the extent permitted by law, all other warranties, guarantees, or representations (whether implied by statute, common law, or custom of the trade or otherwise) in respect of the Product, not expressly included in this warranty, are excluded.

SCOPE OF EXPRESS WARRANTY

Subject to the “EXCLUSIONS”, “PROCEDURE WHEN REQUESTING SERVICE UNDER THE EXPRESS WARRANTY, and “LIMITATIONS” below, each of the Products is expressly warranted under normal installation and use against defects in material and workmanship during the Warranty Period.
This warranty is not transferable to a subsequent customer if the Product is sold by the original purchaser during the Warranty Period.
During the Warranty Period, JCKENWOOD will cause the Product or the defective part of the Product to be repaired by providing to any VCKENWOOD Authorised Service Centre for JVC products in Australia or New Zealand (as applicable to the country of purchase) free of charge parts necessary to correct any defect in material or workmanship.
JCKENWOOD reserves the right to replace defective parts of the Product with parts and components of similar quality, grade, and composition where an identical part or component is not available.
Products presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished products of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.

WARRANTY PERIOD
The JVC brand car stereo and personal audio components are expressly warranted for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of the original purchase.

CONDITIONS OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY
The following are not covered by this express warranty:

Voltage conversions;
Cabinets, grilles, other exterior finishes, belts, tape heads, and other nondurable parts and accessories;
Any fault caused by faulty installation, water damage, the vehicle (including its electronic system), or connection to an incorrect power supply;
Periodic check-ups which do not disclose any defects covered by this warranty;
Products on which the serial number has been defective, modified, or removed;
Products that have been subject to abnormal conditions, including environment, temperature, water, fire, humidity, pressure, stress or similar;
Alleged defects that are within acceptable industry variances;
Damage or deterioration:
- Resulting from the installation and/or removal of the product.
- Resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow instructions contained in the Owner’s Manual.
- Resulting from the installation of parts or accessories that do not conform to the quality or specifications of the original parts or accessories.
- Occurring during shipment (claims must be present to the shipper); and
Damaged magnetic tapes.

The warranty does not extend to:

Installation and removal charges; or
Shipping charges to or from an authorized JCKENWOOD Service Centre for VC products.

PROCEDURE WHEN REQUESTING SERVICE UNDER THE WARRANTY

When requesting service under the SVCKENWOOD warranty, preferably make your Product available for inspection and testing to the dealer from whom you made the purchase, or to the nearest Authorised JVCKENWOOD Service Centre for JVC products, or ship your Product in its original packaging, or equivalent, with shipping charges and insurance prepaid, to the Authorised JVCKENWOOD Service Centre for JVC products. Otherwise, contact JCKENWOOD at the contact address listed below.
Attach the following to the Product:
- the warranty record in the back of this page together,
- a valid purchase docket attached; and
- a detailed description of the problem encountered, including details of any problems which relate to associated equipment.
If such inspection and testing find no defect in the Product, the purchaser, at JVCKENWOOD’s discretion must pay JCKENWOOD’s cost of service work, evaluation, and testing.
Make sure you recover this card, your purchase docket, and your repair docket when accepting the equipment back after repair or after your claim is rejected.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Proper maintenance and use are important to the performance level of all products. Therefore, you should read your instruction manual.
Retain your purchase docket together with this warranty record in a safe place, and present them both to prove your eligibility for warranty service.
We recommend that you keep all the original packaging as it provides the best protection you can have for the transportation of your equipment in the future.
The location of the nearest JVCKENWOOD Service Centre for VC products can be obtained from the dealer.

LIMITATIONS

To the extent permitted by law, JVCKENWOOD makes no express warranties or representations other than those set out in this warranty.
The repair or replacement of the unit or part of the unit is the absolute limit of JVCKENWOOD’s liability under this express warranty.
