How to Locate the Leak
In rare cases where there is an air leak requiring repair, you must find the
source of the leak first. There are 3 ways to help you locate the leak easily.
Make sure the mattress is fully inflated before inspecting.
METHOD 1
Locate the leak by listening. Place your ear 5-7cm/2-3in away from the mattress. Press upon the air mattress which is fully inflated until you find the source of the hissing sound.
METHOD 2
Locate the leak by wet hand. Press and move your wet palm around the
surface of the fully-inflated mattress and feel for the escaping rush of air.
METHOD 3
Locate the air leak by using soap bubbles. Add a little liquid dish soap to
a spray bottle of warm water. Mix thoroughly and spray around the whole
mattress. Escaping air will cause bubbles to form on the surface.
Tips
spray the surface of the mattress systematically. The leak will reveal
itself with soap bubbles. Don’t worry about getting soap on the mattress. This
can be wiped off later and the mattress will dry.
METHOD 1
Locate the leak by listening. Place your ear 5-7cm/2-3in away from the
mattress. Press upon the air mattress which is fully inflated until you find
the source of the hissing sound. Mark the leak with a permanent marker once
you locate it.
How to Repair
STEP 1
Completely deflate the mattress before you can use any kind of adhesive patch
to repair your mattress, it must be 100% dry.
STEP 2
Clean and dry the area around your leak. Gently press the center with your
thumb to push out any wrinkles, then press down on the patch.
STEP 3
Place a heavy object on top of the patch and check if it’s fixed in 2-4 hours.
Important Tips
- When opening the package, there may be an odor from the product due to its PVC material. Please keep it in a ventilated place and the odor will dissipate soon after.
- When inflating the air mattress for the first time, it is better to let the mattress rest for 8-12 hours so that the seams can buffer.
- It is normal for the air mattress to lose a small amount of air after it is fully inflated.
- If you are using the air mattress for more than one night, supplement the mattress each day with 10-15 seconds of air to maintain its firmness.
- Always make sure the control dial is in the “OFF” position after inflating. It is not recommended to run the air pump for more than 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes of continuous use, the air pump will start to generate heat.
