How to Locate the Leak?

In rare cases in which there is a leak requiring repair, you must find the source of the leak first. There are 3 ways to find out the source of the leak. Before inspecting the source of the leak, make sure the mattress is fully inflated and check the valve area first to see If the valve causes the leaking.

  • METHOD 1 : Locate the leak by listening. Place your ear 5-7cm/2-3in away from the mattress. Press upon the air mattress which is fully inflated until you find the source of the hissing sound.

  • METHOD 2: Locate the leak with your wet hands.
Move the wet palm slowly around the surface of the air mattress. Feel the escaping air brush “against” your hand.

  • METHOD 3: Locate the air leak by using soap bubbles.
Add a little liquid dish soap to a spray bottle of warm water. Mix thoroughly to ensure that you can get an even amount of soap across the whole mattress. Spray or wipe around the valve first. Escaping air will cause bubbles to form on the surface.

  • Tips: Spray the surface of the mattress systematically. Start with the seams, followed by the rest of the fabric. The leak will reveal itself with soap bubbles. Don’t worry about getting soap on the mattress. This can be wiped off later and the mattress will dry. Mark the leak with a permanent marker once you locate it.

How to Repair

  • STEP 1
Completely deflate the mattress before you can use any kind of adhesive patch to repair your mattress, it must be 100% dry.

  • STEP2
Clean and dry the area around your leak. Gently press the center with your thumb to push out any wrinkles, then press down on the patch.

  • STEP3
Place a heavy object on top of the patch and check if it’s fixed in 2-4 hours.

  4. If you are using the air mattress for more than one night, supplement the mattress each day with 10-15 seconds of air to maintain its firmness.
  5. Always make sure the control dial is in the “OFF” position after inflating. It is not recommended to run the air pump for longer than 5 minutes.
