Instructions:

  1. Set the barking brake, jack up front of vehicle and support with appropriate jack stands. While you can install the links with the vehicle on the ground, we recommend jacking it up to relieve tension on the sway bar. If not using a jack, turn each wheel opposite of the side you are working on.

  2. Once secure, remove front wheels. Again, not necessary, but will make installation a lot easier and accessible.

  3. Loosen the factory sway bar link on each side. Leave in place until ready to swap with the new links. (Fig. 1)
    Assembly Instruction

  4. Start with the lower mount and attach it to the lower control arm using the supplied hardware (countersunk bolt with nut and washer). Align the edge of the bracket inline with the ridge of the arm, as shown below (Fig. 2A),
    Assembly Instruction
except for Badlands, you will need to clock the lower mount slightly so that you can line everything up (Fig. 2B).
    Assembly Instruction
Tighten down the lock nut while holding the top with an allen wrench.

  5. Next you can insert the lower end of the shock (blue side) into the mount with an aluminum misalignment spacer on each side with the beveled edge toward the shock. This will be a tight fit. Have the bolt ready with a washer at the head to slide through the mount, spacers and shock, then loosely attached with another washer and lock nut on the end. Leave loose until both sides are installed. (Fig. 3).
    Assembly Instruction

  6. For the upper mount, you will need to tighten down the jam nut snug against the shoulder in the middle of the bolt, add a misalignment spacer then insert into the upper hole in the shock, followed by another spacer, washer and lock nut to attach the shock. Next, you will need to align the other side of the bolt with the hole in the factory sway bar. This may require you to manually pull the sway bar into place. Insert the bolt through the sway bar and secure with a washer and lock nut on the other side. (Fig. 4)

  7. Repeat for the other side of the vehicle. Once everything is attached, you can tighten up all the nuts to be securely in place. We recommended 60 ft-lbs for the1/2” grade 8 hardware, and 70 ft-lbs for the larger 9/16” end.

  8. Re-install the wheels and carefully lower the vehicle. Regularly check the torque on the hardware with your usual maintenance.

PLEASE NOTE:

It is the vehicle owner and/or operators’ responsibility to periodically inspect and maintain installed parts to ensure that they are in satisfactory working order within manufacturer’s specifications.
