We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your
appliance. Always read and obey all safety messages.
This is the safety alert symbol.
This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and
others.
All safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word
“DANGER” or “WARNING.” These words mean:
DANGER You can be killed or seriously injured
if you don’t immediately follow instructions.
WARNING You can be killed or seriously injured
if you don’t follow instructions.
All safety messages will tell you what the potential hazard is, tell you how
to reduce the chance of injury, and tell you what can happen if the
instructions are not followed.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

Read all instructions. Misuse of appliance may result in personal injury.

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

To protect against fire, electrical shock and injury to persons do not immerse Base, cord, plug, or Electric Kettle in water or other liquids.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest Authorized Service Facility for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.

The use of accessories/attachments not recommended or sold by KitchenAid may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury to persons.

Do not use the appliance outdoors.

Do not let the cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

Do not use appliance without Lid properly closed. To fill the Electric Kettle open the Lid by pressing the Lid Open Button.
To close, push the Lid down until it locks into place. A clicking sound will be heard which indicates the Lid is locked. -
Scalding may occur if the Lid is removed during the brewing cycle.

The Kettle is only to be used with the stand provided.

This appliance should only be used to heat water.

Do not use the appliance with loose or weakened handle.

Do not clean Kettle with cleaners, steel wool, or other abrasive materials. To prevent damage to the appliance do not use alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning; use a soft cloth and a mild detergent.

Refer to the “Care and Cleaning” section for instructions on cleaning the surfaces.

Do not overfill the appliance.

Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in operation.

To disconnect, turn any control to off, then remove plug from wall outlet.

This product is designed for indoor household use only. Not designed for commercial use.

The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use. Do not touch hot surface. Use handles.

Electrical Shock Hazard
Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adaptor.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow the electrical shock.
Voltage: 120 V~
Frequency: 60 Hz
NOTE: The Electric Kettle has a 3 prong grounded plug. To reduce the risk
of electrical shock, this plug will fit in an outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit in the outlet, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the
plug in any way.
Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a
qualified electrician or serviceman install an outlet near the appliance.
INSERTING AND REMOVING THE FILTER
Inserting the Filter: The Filter is located behind the Spout inside the Electric Kettle. Open the Lid. Slide the Filter down into the slot behind the Spout, making sure that the curve facing outward on the Filter matches to the curve of the Electric Kettle. Removing the Filter: Open the Lid. Grasp the top of the Filter, behind the Spout, and pull out to remove.
PRODUCT USAGE
BEFORE FIRST USE
Before first use, fill the Electric Kettle to the maximum level, then boil and
discard the water.
NOTE: The Electric Kettle is designed for water only. Do not put any
other liquids or substances in the Electric Kettle.
FILLING THE ELECTRIC KETTLE
- Open the Lid of the Electric Kettle by pressing the Lid Open Button.
- Fill the Electric Kettle. There must be a minimum of 0.5 L to operate.
- Push the Lid down until it locks into place. You will hear a clicking sound which indicates the Lid is locked.
- Place the Electric Kettle on the Base.
SETTING THE WATER TEMPERATURE
- Slide the Temperature Selector Lever on the Base to the desired setting (50-100°C).
- Press the Power Button ( ) on the side of the Base. The controls will light up and the Electric Kettle will begin to heat.
NOTE: The Electric Kettle will stop automatically once the set
temperature is reached. The heating cycle can also be turned off manually by
pressing Power Button ( ).

The Electric Kettle can be turned off in several ways:
- Press Power Button ( ) while in Heating Mode.
- Unplug cord when Electric Kettle is not in use.
CARE AND CLEANING
IMPORTANT: Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
CLEANING THE ELECTRIC KETTLE AND BASE
IMPORTANT: Before cleaning, always disconnect the Electric Kettle from electrical outlet and make sure that the Electric Kettle has cooled completely.
- Wash Electric Kettle and Base by hand with a damp cloth. Dry and polish with a soft cloth. Abrasives and scouring agents of any kind are not recommended.
CLEANING THE FILTER
- Remove Filter from Electric Kettle (see “Inserting and Removing the Filter” ); then rinse under running water.
- Clean under hot water with a soft brush or cloth to remove deposits, and replace Filter by sliding the Filter into the slot behind the spout.
NOTE: If calcium deposits remain on the Filter, let it stand overnight in a solution of water and white vinegar. Rinse the Filter thoroughly and replace in the Electric Kettle.
DESCALING THE ELECTRIC KETTLE
Calcium deposits may form on the interior metal parts of the Electric Kettle. To get the best performance from the Electric Kettle, clean periodically. The cleaning interval will depend on the hardness of the water put into the Electric Kettle. The use of a commercial descaler is recommended.
If a commercial descaler is not available:
- Fill the Electric Kettle with white vinegar to the minimum 0.5 L mark.
- Add water to the 1 L mark.
- Boil and allow to stand overnight.
- Empty the solution from the Electric Kettle.
Fill the Electric Kettle with water, bring to a boil and drain out the water.
Repeat this step twice. The Electric Kettle is now ready to use.
LIMITED WARRANTY AND SERVICE
KITCHENAID® PRODUCT WARRANTY FOR THE 50 UNITED STATES, THE DISTRICT OF
COLUMBIA, PUERTO RICO, AND CANADA
This limited warranty extends to the original purchaser and any succeeding
owner for the product operated in the 50 United States, the District of
Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
Length of Warranty: One Year Limited Warranty from date of delivery.

KitchenAid Will Not Pay for (What is Not Covered By This Limited Warranty):
a) Commercial, non-residential, or multiple family use or use inconsistent with product instructions and manuals.
b) Defects or damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire flood, or acts of God.
c) Any shipping or handling costs to deliver your product to an Authorized Service Center.
d) Replacement parts or repair labor costs for the product operated outside the 50 United States, District of Columbia, Puerto
Rico, and Canada.
e) Damages, defects, or repairs caused by unauthorized servicers or use of non-genuine or third-party parts; however, use of unauthorized service providers or non-genuine or third-party parts will not void this warranty.
f) Cosmetic damage (e.g., scratches, dents, chips, and other damage to finishes), unless damage results from defects in materials and workmanship and is reported to KitchenAid within 30 days from date of delivery.
g) Discoloration, rust or oxidation of surfaces resulting from caustic or corrosive environments (e.g., high salt concentrations, high moisture or humidity or exposure to chemicals).
h) Products with original, factory-installed model/serial numbers removed, altered or not easily determined.
i) Incidental or consequential damages resulting from product failure.
j) Consumable parts or accessories. -
DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES
Implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to ten years or the shortest period allowed by law. Some states and provinces do not allow limitations on the duration of implied warranties of merchantability or fitness, so this limitation may not apply to you. -
HOW STATE LAW APPLIES
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state or province to province. Some states and provinces, such as California, do not allow for limitations on the date your warranty coverage begins, so this limitation may not apply to you.

We’re so confident the quality of our products meets the exacting standards of KitchenAid that, if your product should fail within the first year of ownership due to defects in materials or workmanship, KitchenAid will arrange to deliver an identical or comparable replacement to your door free of charge and arrange to have your original product returned to us. Your replacement unit will also be covered by our one year limited warranty.
If your product should fail within the first year of ownership, simply call our toll-free Customer eXperience Center at 1-800-541-6390 Monday through Friday. Please have your original sales receipt available when you call. Proof of purchase will be required to initiate the claim. Give the consultant your complete shipping address (no P.O. Box numbers, please).
When you receive your replacement product, use the carton, packing materials, and prepaid shipping label to pack up your original product and send it back to KitchenAid.
