Installation

Pressing the Geberit Mapress ball valve

The Geberit Mapress ball valve does not influence the direction of flow of the medium. The ball valve can be installed in any direction of flow and in any installation position.

Prerequisite

– Minimum space requirements L2 are ensured.

1 Ensure that the Geberit Mapress ball valve is free of dust and foreign bodies. Clean with water or steam if required.

2 Press the connections. → See installation manual 965.739.00.0 ‘Processing Geberit Mapress system pipes’ and operating instructions of the pressing tools used.

Commissioning

Checking the function

The force may be much stronger when the actuator lever is actuated for the first time or if it has not been used for some time.

▶ Open and close the actuator lever (3x).

Result

✓ Ball valve is ready for operation

Checking the Geberit Mapress ball valve for tightness

CAUTION
Risk of scalding from leaking medium (hot water)
▶ Maintain safety distance.
▶ Wear protective equipment.

▶ Test the ball valve for tightness at the gland.

Result

✓ If the ball valve is leaky, tighten the gland more securely. → See “Tightening the gland”, page 18.

Tightening the gland

1 Close the ball valve.

2 Demount the actuator lever.

A gland that is tightened too securely will cause the actuator lever to be stiff.

3 Tighten gland to torque specified in Table 4.

4 Mount the actuator lever.

5 Check function and ball valve for tightness.
→ See “Checking the Geberit Mapress ball valve for tightness”, page 17.
