A Closer Look
Plug In & Use
This carrier only cools when powered. To start your vaccine and sample carrier simply plug it in, using the correct cable to either mains electricity or a 12v socket in a vehicle.
Once turned on, the digital display will count down from 99.9 and you will hear the fan start working. When the temperature display shows 0.0, the display will go through the following sequence:
CAL means calibration.
This display shows the calibration off set, in this case +0.2 degrees.
Warning: This should only be adjusted by a suitably trained engineer.
SEt means set point.
This is the target temperature the carrier is set to run at. It is factory set
to 5oC. You can change this by pressing the – or + button twice and then – or
- until you reach the desired temperature.
Act means actual temperature.
This shows the air temperature detected by the probe inside the carrier.
Initially it will show ambient temperature.
This will decrease closer to the set point as the carrier cools.
The set point can be checked by pressing the – or + buttons once. Take care NOT to change the set point whilst checking.
The set point and calibration setting will not be aff ected by disconnection from a power source as they can only be changed by using the – or + buttons. The calibration setting should only be changed by a person trained in calibrating medical equipment.
Warning: The controller will go through the above sequence EVERY time it is connected to power. Do NOT press the – and + buttons unless you want to change the settings.
Always ensure the carrier is on a fl at surface when in use and that the front of the carrier is not obstructed or covered as the cooling system requires adequate ventilation.
The Labcold vaccine and sample carrier is designed for temporary temperature control during transit or short term use only. It is NOT designed to be run for long periods of time nor for permanent storage or transport of blood components.

Trouble Shooting
My carrier is not working
- Check that the carrier is plugged in and the plug socket is turned on
- Try another appliance in the power socket. If this appliance works but your carrier doesn’t, please contact your retailer
- If using a vehicle power socket make sure it is not dirty and a good connection is being made
There is water in my carrier
Ice can form on the inside of the carrier, especially if used in unusually high humidity or if the top is open for a long time. Simply unplug the carrier from it’s power source and remove the water and dry fully before using again.
My thermometer shows a diff erent temperature to the set point
This is normal. The actual temperature varies in normal operation, especially if the lid is opened or a large amount of product at room temperature is added to the carrier. To help improve the stability of the internal temperature it is recommended that you use the insulation pad included.
