Install AlinO Seals and AlinO-Gard waterproof membrane on wall by applying modified thin set mortar, using a 3/16 x 3/16 V-Notch trowel. Ensure 2” overlap at every joint, 100% mortar coverage at the back and make sure to remove all air pockets.
-
Measure and cut AlinO-Shower Tray with jig saw or utility knife as per shower floor area.
-
Position AlinO Shower Tray and mark the subfloor to indicate the position of the hole to access pipe outlet.
Remove shower tray and cut a 4-1/2” diameter hole by jig saw or hole-saw and cover drain outlet to protect from debris.
-
Clean subfloor with wet cloth and spread modified thin set mortar by using ¼ x ¼ V-Notch trowel and position AlinO-Shower Tray (flat side face-down). Ensure 100% mortar coverage on the back of the tray.
-
Take out the cover from pipe outlet and connect AlinO
Drain body with pipe outlet by using ABS/PVC glue (may need to add small ABS/PVC pipe if there is any gap between drain connector and pipe outlet) -
Install drain body with modified thin set mortar on shower tray. Press the drain body and hold it for a few seconds to properly bond drain connector with pipe outlet. Remove excess mortar on top of the drain flange and cover drain hole with cloth to protect from debris.
-
(Ignore this step for curb-less shower).
Measure and cut the shower curb as per requirement. Install Shower Curb using modified thin set mortar. Ensure channel side at the bottom and top sloped side are facing towards the shower.
- (Ignore this step if AlinO Gard waterproof membrane is already bonded with tray)
Apply modified thin set mortar on the tray using ¼ x 3/16 V-Notch trowel and install AlinO-Gard waterproof membrane on the tray.
-
Fold AlinO Band into half to create a crease for easy installation and install along the vertical (wall to wall) and horizontal (wall to floor) joint with modified thin set mortar.
-
Install Inside and Outside corners by using modified thin set mortar, and your shower is now waterproof, wait 24 hrs. before tile installation
-
Install Grate Holder with height adjustable ring/collar by using modified thin set mortar. Adjust grate holder to flush with tile. Once the desired height is achieved, align the grate holder with the grout line through lateral movement, and remove the excess mortar, and continue tiling.
-
Snap on stainless steel grate (does not require any screws) and your shower is ready for use.
-
For Tile Insert: Cut and then install a tile with modified thin set mortar on the reverse side of the stainless-steel
Grate. Remove excess mortar. Place the Grate with tile fitted on the grateholder (tile side face-up). Wait 24 hrs. and your tile insert shower is ready for use.
