AlinO AL-LSD-SQ-GLD30 Linear Drain Installation Guide

Things need to consider before starting your project:

Materials required:
Modified thin set mortar. 2” No Hub Coupling
ABS / PVC pipe (small pc.) ABS / PVC Glue Masking tape

Tools Required:
5 gallons bucket Mixing paddle and Power drill Jigsaw Utility Knife (or scissors) ¼”x3/16” (6mm x 5mm) V-notched trowel Proper trowel to set the tiles level

Off-Center drain application : Measure distance from the wall to the center of the drain, and deduct 2.5” for drain body support and cut Off-Set Tray (27.5” x 36”).

Please ensure the floor and work area are clean, and debris or filth cannot get into the shower drain during assembly. Please cover drain using the masking tape or cloth.
Please note that a 2” No Hub Coupling (Not included) is required to make the connection.
A small piece of 2” pipe may be required to fill up the gap between the AlinO Linear drain and drain pipe.

Once location for drain is identified, cut a 3-1/4” to 3.75” hole in the substrate, and install drain body support with modified thin set mortar.

AlinO Linear Drain Installation:

Wall drain application: Center of drain hole should be 2-1 / 4” from expected finished wall surface.

Center drain application: Measure distance from each wall to determine drain location. Cut Tray to fit or add AlinO Linear Extensions kit, if required.

Join AlinO Linear Drain with 2” No Hub Coupler. Measure the distance between drain and the pipe, cut a small piece of 2” pipe to join (if required) by using ABS/PVC solvent. Apply modified thin set mortar on the substrate, and position drain body support and then drain body.

AlinO Linear Tray installation:

Use modified thin set mortar on the substrate surface and back of the AlinO Linear Tray (flat side) to ensure 100% coverage.
Note: Top sloped surface is already preboned with AlinO-Gard waterproof membrane and ready for tile.

Waterproof AlinO Gard on walls:

Install AlinO-Gard waterproof membrane on the wall with modified thin set mortar and ensure 2” overlap at every joint.

Install all pre-formed inside and outside AlinO-Corners on all corners of the Tray. Cut AlinO Band to length. Fold in half lengthwise to create crease for easy install. Apply modified thin set mortar and press in place using a flat trowel for every horizontal and vertical joints.

Stainless Steel Grate and Tile Insert

Use Height adjustable knobs (bottom of the grate holder) to adjust grate height to Flush or 1mm below the finished tiled
shower floor surface. Position hair catcher on the drain hole.

Ensure all plastic clips are attached with the bottom of the grate.

Stainless Steel Grate:

Placed stainless steel grate on grate holder.

Tile Insert:

Reverse the grate and ensure all clips are switched to bottom side of the grate.
Cut a piece of tile to fit into grate and install tile by using modified thin set mortar, and place into to the Grate holder.
