Watch in amazement as two life-like jellyfish gently float and sway in the water when you activate your switch. Just fill the tower with distilled water, and add the plastic jellyfish and a steady flow of air will circulate and animate the jellyfish. Great for teaching cause and effect and for encouraging visual attention. Size: 2¾”L x 2¾”W x 9″H. Requires 3 AA Batteries. Weight: 2 lbs.
WARNING : Choking hazard. Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

Operation

  1. Jellyfish Lamp requires 3 AA batteries. The battery compartment is located under the base of the unit.
  2. Carefully turn the unit over, and remove the battery cover. Install new batteries, being careful to observe proper battery polarity.
  3. Alkaline batteries must be used only (e.g. Duracell or Energizer brand).
  4. Do not use rechargeable batteries or any other type of batteries because they supply lower voltage and the unit will not perform properly. Never mix old, new or different types of batteries. Replace the battery compartment cover.
  5.  Lift off the black cover of the bottle and the rubber stopper at the top of the bottle and fill the bottle with 75% distilled water only. Do not use tap water.
  6. Please Note: The jellyfish are extremely delicate. Handle very carefully. Carefully and slowly place them into the bottle.
  7. Fill the container the rest of the way with water and replace the rubber stopper and black cover.
  8. Next plug in your external capability switch into the female 1/8″ jack, located on the side of the unit. If your switch has a ¼” male plug, then order one of our #1170 ¼” to 1/8″ adapters. Make sure the male plug is pressed firmly into the female jack, there should be no gaps. Set the Jelly Ball Lamp’s ON/OFF switch to OFF for external switch use. You can now activate the Jellyfish Lamp with your switch.
  9. When you activate your switch the Jelly Fish will float accompanied by illuminating light. Once you release your switch the Jelly Fish with sink and light will stop.
  10. The Jellyfish Lamp can be used normally without the use of a switch.

Troubleshooting

Problem: The Jellyfish Lamp does not turn on when the switch is depressed.
Action #1: Make sure that you press all connections firmly together. Any gaps may interrupt the electrical connection. The Jellyfish Lamp’s ON/OFF switch needs to be set to OFF for external switch use.
Action #2: Make sure batteries are fresh.
Action #3: Try a different switch with your Jellyfish Lamp to rule it out as the source of the problem.

Notes

  • If the Jellyfish Lamp is not used for an extended period, make sure to remove the batteries and empty the water.
  • This unit is intended for indoor use only.

Care of Unit

The Jellyfish Lamp can be wiped clean with any mild household multi-purpose, non-abrasive cleaner and disinfectant. We recommend Simple Green, which is a non-toxic biodegradable all-purpose cleaner. Do not submerge the unit in any fluids, as it will damage the contents and the electrical components. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface of the unit.
