Instructions: This tool may be used “on” or “off” the car.
IMPORTANT: Do not kink or put pressure on the brake line.
- Remove the old brake pads.
- Select the proper adapter and install it on the 3/8″ square end of the pusher screw.
- Place the tool in the caliper. Turn the 1″ hex counter-clockwise until the backing plate pushes against the caliper and the adapter and its pin(s) seat against the piston. NOTE: Do not over-tighten the 1″ hex making the piston hard to turn.
- Use a 9/16″ wrench or ratchet and 9/16″ socket to turn the pusher screw until the piston bottoms in its bore.
NOTE: Some pistons turn clockwise while others turn counter-clockwise; consult your shop manual for the car you are servicing. For the counter-clockwise rotation the 1″ Hex Nut must be turned more times at a faster rate of rotation in order to keep the adapter engaged with the piston.
