The HPE Networking Instant On Access Points AP21 is the low-density work horse of the Wi-Fi 6 series. Hosting up to 1.5 Gbps over its two dual-band antennas, this access point will bring high speed connectivity to areas 1500 square feet and smaller. The AP21 access point is ideal for set and forget deployments that need only 1-2 APs, like small retail stores, pop-up shops, and startups.

The HPE Networking Instant On Access Points AP22 is our core Wi-Fi 6 access point that gives you the bang for your buck. It hosts a 2×2 antenna array supporting 2 spatial streams with a max aggregate data rate of 1.7 Gbps. The AP22 is ideal for corporate offices, healthcare facilities and hybrid classrooms that require EN certification, or hybrid classrooms. This access point has the same security and reliability as the AP25 at a more attractive price.

The HPE Networking Instant On Access Points AP22D is the more versatile version of the AP22. It has the same antenna array and spatial streams (2×2:2) but has a 2.5GbE uplink port and four 1GbE downlink ports for hardwired devices. The AP22D can also supply Power over Ethernet (PoE) to two of the downlink ports at 15W (PoE 802.3af) when powered with Class 6 PoE 802.3bt or the optional DC power supply. When powered by Class 4 PoE 802.3af, the AP22D will supply power to one port at 15W (PoE 802.3af). This makes the AP22D great for IP phones or receipt printers in areas that need more Ethernet ports and only one in-room Ethernet port is available. Great for boutique hotel rooms, home offices, or reception areas.

The HPE Networking Instant On Access Points AP25 is our top performer, with a 4×4 antenna array that supports 4 spatial streams to provide coverage and speed in device-dense networks, and is best if used in common areas where 100 or more of your customers can gather. The AP25 2.5GbE uplink port enables more network bandwidth to support the wireless maximum 5.3Gbps throughput for connected clients compared to traditional 1GbE uplink in other Wi-Fi 6 access points.

Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)
Allows access points (APs) to handle multiple Wi-Fi 6-capable clients on each channel simultaneously regardless of device or traffic type. This improves efficiency by boosting overall capacity, while reducing latency.
Target Wake Time (TWT)
Ideal for IoTs that communicate infrequently, TWT establishes a schedule for when clients need to communicate with an AP. This helps reduce power consumption, extending the battery life of clients.
