Overview

This Quick Start Guide (QSG) provides the basics to set up the DEN Smart Home app and configure a Smart Strike. Refer to the complete Installation Guide and User Guide located at densmarthome.com for more information on installing the SmartStrike and using the app.

Before you begin

In order to setup and use the DEN Smart Home app there are items required such as the Smart Strike and access to the QR for the Smart Strike. Ensure that the Smart Strike is close by and the battery door is removed and available. Important!
Always use 2 AA Lithium batteries.

Install the DEN Smart Strike™ app

The app is available for download in the Google Play store and the iOS App Store.



Create a DEN User Account

Open the app and select register at the bottom of the screen.

Enter your name and select next.

Create a password and select next.

Add a profile Image from your phone’s camera or gallery.
A message will appear indicating that the account has been created. However, before it can be used your email must be verified. Check your email for a message from DEN Smart Home to verify your account. Once verified, return to the app to login.

Register Your SmartStrike™


Enter the credentials for your account and select  sign In.

Setup two-factor authentication. Refer to the app User Guide for details on two-factor  authentication.

Remove the battery door from the SmartStrike and  scan the QR code located on the inside of the door.
Reattach the battery door to the Smart Strike.

When the device is located, select add to location to proceed.

Create a location for the  SmartStrike and select next.

Add an image for the location from your phone’s camera or gallery.

Create a name for the SmartStrike that best identifies the door it will unlock.

The SmartStrike will perform a test to verify connection.

When the device registered message appears the SmartSrike can now be used.

If a device out of range message appears, move closer to the SmartStrike and try connecting to the SmartStrike.

If a SmartStrike already registered message appears, unregister the device. Refer to app User Guide for steps.
