When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

These warnings apply to the robot, charging dock and charger. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY:

  1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or reasoning capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, only if they have been given supervision or instruction by a responsible person concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  2. To prevent injury, always carry the appliance by the handle provided. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts such as the wheels and the brush bar.

  3. Unplug from the mains electricity supply before cleaning or performing any maintenance on the appliance.

  4. To prevent unintentional starting, be careful to keep your hands and fingers away from the LCD screen especially when picking up or carrying the appliance. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the LCD screen invites accidents.

  5. The battery is not user-replaceable. If the battery needs replacing, the complete appliance must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer or a designated service agent in order to avoid a hazard.

  6. The battery used in this appliance may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not place the robot on or near a cooker or any other hot surface and do not disassemble, short-circuit the battery’s contacts, heat above 60°C (140°F), or incinerate this appliance even if it is severely damaged. The battery might catch fire or explode.

  7. Use only as described in the Dyson User manual. Do not carry out any maintenance other than that shown in the manual, on the MyDyson™, on the Dyson website, or as advised by the Dyson  Helpline.

  8. If a service or repair is needed, contact the Dyson Helpline so we can discuss the available options. Do not disassemble the robot as incorrect reassembly may result in an electric shock or fire.

  9. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by, or near, children and pets. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the robot. Do not allow children or pets to sit on the robot.

  10. Do not use robot with pets without supervision.

  11. Do not let the power supply unit, charging dock or robot get wet, they are suitable for dry locations ONLY. Do not charge or operate outdoors or on wet surfaces or where contact with, or immersion in, water is a possibility. Do not handle the plug, charging dock or robot with wet hands.

  12. Do not use robot with/around any liquid or semi-liquid (pet mess) spillages.

  13. Do not operate the robot in areas where there are open fireplaces, lit candles or fragile objects.

  14. Ensure balconies are physically blocked before using robot.

  15. Do not operate the robot where it can pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as petrol, or use in areas where they or their vapours may be present and do not operate the robot where it can pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.

  16. To ensure that the robot does not create any hazard, ensure that all of the sensors are kept clean and clear of any debris.

  17. Risk of falling: Do not use the robot in any area where it can access a down stairway or balcony or any other drop off or edge. Do not use in high or narrow spaces such as a shelf or stairs.

  18. Ensure that everyone in the household is aware of the appliance when it is in use, particularly when using the scheduled clean function available via the MyDyson™ app.

  19. Do not operate the robot in a room where an infant or child is present and unattended or sleeping.

  20. Ensure floors are clear of any electrical cables and other items that may cause an obstruction in the robot.

  21. Do not operate the robot in areas with exposed electrical outlets in the floor.

  22. If the robot passes over a power cord and drags it, there is a chance an object could be pulled off a table or shelf. Before using the robot, pick up objects like clothing, loose papers, pull cords for blinds or curtains, power cords, and any fragile objects.

  23. Be aware that the robot moves on its own. Take care when walking in the area that the robot is operating in to avoid stepping on it.

  24. Do not use the robot to pick up sharp objects, glass.

  25. Do not use without the clear bin and filter(s) in place.

  26. Do not use with a damaged cable, charger or charging dock. If the robot is not working as it should, has received a sharp blow, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, do not use and contact the Dyson Helpline.

  27. Do not touch the charging points on the appliance or the charging dock with any object.

Additional information

  • Using your robot
    To turn your robot off manually, press and hold the LCD screen until it goes blank or disconnect the charging dock from the power supply.

  • Cleaning your robot
    Clean your robot and the navigational camera with a dry cloth only. Do not use any lubricants, cleaning agents, polishes or air fresheners on any part of your robot.

Maintaining your robot

  • Remove your robot from the charging dock before carrying out any maintenance.
  • Empty the bin as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX level.
  • Wash the filter when prompted by your robot. After washing, allow the filter to dry for at least 48 hours before placing back into your robot.
  • This robot has carbon fibre brushes. Take care if coming into contact with them, as they may cause minor skin irritation. Wash your hands after handling the brushes.
  • Refit all parts securely before using.

Battery safety instructions

  • Your robot won’t operate or charge if the ambient temperature is below 5°C (41°F). This is designed to protect both the motor and battery. The recommended temperature range for storage, operating  and charging your robot is between 18°C (64°F) and 28°C (82°F).
  • If the battery needs replacing, please contact the Dyson Helpline.
  • The battery is a sealed unit and under normal circumstances poses no safety concerns. In the unlikely event that liquid leaks from the battery, do not touch the liquid and observe the following precautions:
  • Skin contact – can cause irritation. Wash with soap and water.
  • Inhalation – can cause respiratory irritation. Expose to fresh air and seek medical advice.
  • Eye contact – can cause irritation. Immediately flush eyes thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
  • Disposal – wear gloves to handle the battery and dispose of immediately, following local ordinances or regulations.

MyDyson™ app connectivity

  • You must have a live internet connection in order for the MyDyson™ to work.
  • The robot can connect to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz networks which includes most routers. Check your router documentation for compatibility.
  • Dyson endeavours to ensure that our technology is compatible with current operating systems but this is not guaranteed. If you have any questions or would like to check the latest compatibility, please contact the Dyson Helpline.
  • Your mobile device must have Bluetooth® wireless technology 4.0 support (Bluetooth Low Energy) in order to set up a connection with the robot. Check your device specification for compatibility.

What is covered

  • The repair or replacement of your Dyson machine (at Dyson’s discretion) if it is found to be defective due to faulty materials, workmanship or function within two years of purchase or delivery (if any part is no longer available or out of manufacture, Dyson will replace it with a functional replacement part).
  • Where this machine is sold outside of the EU, this guarantee will only be valid if the machine is used in the country in which it was sold.
  • Where this machine is sold within the EU, this guarantee will only be valid (i) if the machine is used in the country in which it was sold or (ii) if the machine is used in Austria, Belgium, Denmark,

What is not covered
Dyson does not guarantee the repair or replacement of a product where a defect is the result of:

  • Accidental damage, faults caused by negligent use or care, misuse, neglect, careless operation or handling of the machine which is not in accordance with the Dyson User manual.
  • Use of the machine for anything other than normal domestic household purposes.
  • Use of parts not assembled or installed in accordance with the instructions of Dyson.
  • Use of parts and accessories which are not genuine Dyson components.
  • Faulty installation (except where installed by Dyson).
  • Repairs or alterations carried out by parties other than Dyson or its authorised agents.
  • Blockages – refer to the Dyson User manual for details on how to look for and clear blockages.
  • Normal wear and tear (e.g. fuse, brush bar etc.).
  • Use of this machine on rubble, ash, plaster.
  • Reduction in battery discharge time due to battery age or use (where applicable).
  • If you are in any doubt as to what is covered by your guarantee, please contact Dyson.

Summary of cover

  • The guarantee becomes effective from the date of purchase (or the date of delivery if this is later).
  • You must provide proof of (both the original and any subsequent) delivery/purchase before any work can be carried out on your Dyson machine. Without this proof, any work carried out will be chargeable. Keep your receipt or delivery note.
