- Read all instructions before using this appliance.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. The temperature of accessible surfaces can be high when the appliance is in operation. Wear kitchen gloves when handleing hot materials and allow metal parts to cool before cleaning. Allow units to cool completely before putting on or removing parts.
- Keep hands and utensils out of the appliance when used. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use a kitchen glove and handles or knobs. ATTENTION: The surface is heated during use.
- Always unplug the appliance from the outlet before moving or cleaning
- When the appliance is not in use and before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the outlet.

- Do not place too large food or metal utensils on the appliance as they may create a risk of fire or electric shock.
- Use extreme caution when removing food.
- Do not use abrasive or metallic materials to clean the appliance, this may damage the surface.
- To turn off the appliance, place all controls in the “OFF” position.
- Always connect the cable to the appliance before connecting the cable to the power outlet. To disconnect, set all controls to “OFF” and then remove the plug from the power outlet.
- This appliance is not intended for operation by means of an external programmer or by means of an external remote control system.
KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice a little smoke and/or a slight odor. This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been used a few times.
ADDITIONAL SAFEGUARDS
DO NOT OPERATE THE APPLIANCE IF THE POWER CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF THE APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY, OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
EXTENSION CORDS
A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-
supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension
cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally by children or the user.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
BEFORE FIRST USE
- Unpack the appliance and all parts. Remove packaging materials and labels.
- Remove the detachable accessories from the appliance.
- Wash the grill and grease collection tray with soapy water, rinse and dry with a cloth or paper towel.
- Place the base on a flat, heat-resistant surface, then place the tray on the base making sure it is fully fitted and stable.
- Pour water into the tray taking care not to exceed the maximum mark (Max) this decreases the emission of smoke or odors during cooking. Never use the appliance without water.
- Place the grill in place making sure it fits well and stable.
- Insert the thermostat in place making sure it fits well.
- Do not place the appliance under the cabinets or too close to the wall to allow heat to flow without damaging the area.
- Make sure the thermostat is in OFF (far left) position and plug the appliance into an outlet.
- NOTE: During the first few minutes of initial use before cooking, you may notice some smoke and/or an odor of the appliance. This is normal and it will disappear. It will not reappear after the appliance has been used a couple of times.
FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
CAUTION: The surfaces of the appliance get hot. To avoid accidental burns, scalping, or steam being released while cooking, always manipulate the appliance by using an oven mitt.
USING THE APPLIANCE
- Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal and level surface. Do not place appliance on non-heat-resistant surfaces.
- Once the appliance is assembled and watered, operate the thermostat knob by turning it to the right and let it heat.
- Place food on the grill using a kitchen glove or tweezers.
- You can adjust the temperature according to the type of food or recipe. Usually the largest foods are ready in 20 minutes or less.
- Once the cooking is finished, turn the thermostat knob completely to the left and remove food from the grill using a kitchen glove or tweezers, taking care not to burn.
- Disconnect from the power outlet.
IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING: Never use the appliance without water in the tray. Only for indoor use. Do not add water if the appliance is in use and hot. The maximum amount of water is 1.5L. Never use carbon or similar fuels, this appliance is electric.
NOTE: Always supervise food to avoid overcooking. Flip the food during the process if necessary. Always wear kitchen gloves to avoid the risk of burns.
USEFUL TIPS
- Frozen foods and meats will take longer to cook. It is advisable to prepare the meats in advance and let sit are at room temperature.
- When using the appliance, smoke is likely to be present at the beginning in cooking. Removing excess fat from food before cooking can reduce this.
- Do not move the artifact while in use. Pay attention the tray does not run out of water.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it and allow it to cool completely.
- Wash all removable accessories with soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Do not immerse the thermostat in water or any other liquid. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Do not use any metal products to clean the surfaces of the appliance to prevent surface damage.
CAUTION: DO NOT IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE, THERMOSTAT, CABLE OR PLUG IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS.
STORAGE
After following the cleaning and maintenance steps, pick up the power cord. Store the appliance in a dry, clean place.
