EXTENSION CORDS
A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detach-able
power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension
cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally by children or the user.
POLARIZED PLUG
This product has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit contact a qualified electrician. Do
not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
HOW TO OPERATE
BEFORE FIRST USE:
- Unpack the product and all of its parts. Remove all packaging materials, including any stickers or labels.
- Read these instructions carefully.
- Clean the interior surface of the product with a damp cloth. Wipe dry with a soft cloth immediately. Do not use abrasive materials. Wipe down the exterior with a soft dry cloth.
- NEVER IMMERSE THE PRODUCT OR CORD IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
- Position the product on a stable, dry, flat, heat-resistant surface near an electrical outlet.
- Unroll the electrical cord.
- Operate this product on a separate outlet and circuit from other appliances to avoid overloading the circuit.
CAUTION : The surfaces of the appliance get very hot. To avoid accidental burns or scalping from the steam being released while cooking, always open and close the lid by using an oven mitt.
FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
USING THE PRODUCT:
- This product is intended ONLY for household use of baking arepas.
- Premake the arepa dough following the instructions, and put aside the dough. (See “steps to making arepas”)
- Lift the lid to the open position
- Coat the non-stick surface with a small amount of vegetable oil. This can be done with a paper towel or with a non-stick cooking oil spray. Wipe off any excess oil. It is recommended to periodically do this before each use to maintain the quality of the non-stick coating.
- Check and confirm the voltage of the product is the same as the outlets. Then, plug the electrical cord carefully into a separate outlet from other appliances to prevent the circuit from being overloaded.
- The red indicator light will turn ON once the appliance is plugged in.
- Lower the lid to the closed position to preheat the appliance until the green indicator light turns ON. The green indicator light will turn ON when the appliance reaches the maximum operating temperature. The appliance is ready to cook as soon as the green light turns ON. Note: The green indicator light will turn ON and OFF; it does not reflect cooking completion only temperature cycles from minimum (green light OFF) to maximum (green light ON).
- Once the green indicator light turns ON, carefully open the top lid using an oven mitt to avoid burns from coming in contact with the hot surface.
- Place dough into the non-stick-coated cavities, making sure it does not overflow onto the flat plate surface.
- Close the lid and let cook for approximately 7-10 minutes or until fully cooked.
- After the arepas are ready, carefully remove them by using an oven mitt and a heat-resistant wood or plastic spatula. Do NOT use metal utensils because they will scratch and damage the surface.
- If cooking more than one batch in a session, after removing the first batch, use an oven mitt to close the lid to maintain heat. Note: DO NOT leave the appliance plugged in without any dough inside for longer than 2 minutes.
- As soon as you are finished cooking, unplug the product and allow it to cool down.
CLEANING
Proper maintenance will ensure many years of use of your product. Clean the product after every use following these steps. This product contains no user- serviceable parts and requires little maintenance.
WARNING : The surfaces of the item will get very hot during use, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
- Clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive or metallic materials.
- To remove the dough baked onto the cooking surface, pour a small amount of cooking oil onto the hardened dough. After 5 minutes, carefully wipe with a paper towel or dry cloth.
- Never use abrasive cleanser, or scouring pads when cleaning the appliance, as those may damage the surfaces.

DO NOT IMMERSE THE PRODUCT, THE POWER CORD, OR PLUG INTO WATER OR ANY LIQUIDS.
STORAGE
- After following the steps of cleaning and maintenance, collect the power cord and place it in the cord storage.
- Store the appliance in a dry and clean place.

- Place the arepas on a wire rack to cool down for a few minutes. Do not pile them on top of one another after cooking, otherwise they will soften.

- If the dough is too soft and hard to manage, place more flour and knead until it is easy to make a small ball. Make sure the dough is not too dry, it should be soft to the touch.
- When making the dough you can add a tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese or salt for added flavor.
- You can top with your favorite ingredients including but not limited to cheese, cold cuts, cooked meats, and fresh vegetables such as tomato or avocado.

- /4 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 cup white corn flour
- /2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup water
Steps
- Mix milk, cream cheese, and salt in a mixing bowl.
