We understand that people usually do not like to read long-form technical documents, so we have put the most important points at the beginning of the manual. Please DO READ the first four sections (1, 2, 3 and 4) carefully; otherwise, this product is nothing but a paperweight.

How to Use

  1. Plug in the detector.
  2. Three lights (Green, Yellow, Red) will flash, and there will be a voice prompt – “Alarm is initiating. Please wait 3 minutes for sensor preheating”.
  3. Do not apply gas to test during the warm-up process because the gas will not be detected. During the warm-up process, shortly press the Test Button to switch languages (Chinese and English), default is English.
  4. Press the Test Button, three lights will flash and there will be a voice prompt.
  5. There are different outputs dependent on gas concentration:

How to Test Functionality (Very Important)

We strongly recommend to not directly releasing gas from the stove in the kitchen. Light natural gas (methane) will directly rise towards the ceiling and heavy liquefied gas (propane) will sink to ground. The released gas will not be enough to trigger the detector even though it can be smelled. There is a risk of explosion if the entire room accumulates enough gas.
The TEST/MUTE button only tests the buzzer and light functionality, not the sensor. To test the sensor functionality, use a lighter to release some gas around the sensor area for 6~8 seconds, and the detector will be triggered immediately. Make sure to extinguish any flame when releasing test gas or else any gas will be combusted and unavailable to be detected.
Note: Recommended at least once every 3~4 months.
Attention: Do not spray any cleaning products or agents, such as antiseptic sprays, air fresheners, etc. onto the product panel. This may damage the sensor inside, lead to false alarm
or malfunction.

How to do periodic testing
a. Use a lighter to release gas around 1 for 6-8s to trigger device alarm.
b. Recommended at least once every 3-4 months.
c. Make sure to extinguish any flame when releasing test gas or else any gas will be combusted and unavailable to be detected.

How to enter into Auto-calibration process (Very Important)

Occasionally, affected by environmental factors such as humidity or temperature changes, the digital display may show 1, 2 or 3 instead of 0. To correct, press the test button for 5~6 seconds, the device will enter into auto-calibration mode and reset to zero in about 180 seconds. If you can’t enter into auto-calibration mode, please send an email to: support@yeezou.com to get support prior to posting a negative review.

Where to Install

Natural Gas is typically supplied through a main utility line connected to your home. Natural Gas is comprised of methane gas and is much lighter than air; and in case of gas leakage, natural gas rises towards the ceiling and accumulates in areas near the ceiling. If you are a user of natural gas, mount your detector around 0.3~1.5meters (12 ~60 inches) away from the ceiling and 1.5~3 meters (60~120 inches) away from the gas supply to ensure the earliest opportunity to detect a leak.
Propane is typically supplied to homes via delivery truck in liquid form and stored near the home in propane tanks. Propane and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) are often used synonymously.
Propane is much heavier than air and will collect at lower levels. If you are a user of propane, mount your detector around 0.3~1.5meters (12 ~60 inches) away from the ceiling and 1.5~3 meters (60~120 inches) away from the gas supply to ensure the earliest opportunity to detect a leak.

General Instructions

Y301/Y302 combustible gas detectors (hereinafter referred to as “detector”) are designed to detect explosive gases (natural gas and LPG) in the air for houses, offices, and similar spaces.
These detectors are electrical alarm apparatuses located in a fixed place to both work constantly and give out a visual/audible alarm. The detectors are equipped with a high-performance Gas Sensor that has excellent sensitivity. The digital display and audible alarm notifies users of the presence and relative concentration of combustible gas.

Yeezou Y301 Natural Gas Detector and Propane Alarm - Product
Layout

It is very important to mount the detector in a location with the highest potential for gas accumulation. The detector should not be located in the following places:

  1. Locations that smell
  2. Directly over a sink
  3. Vaporous places
  4. Over the oven or chimney hood
  5. Close to a vacuuming fan (exhaust fan, etc.)
  6. Close to door or window
  7. Locations with a temperature under 0 ℃ or over 55 ℃
  8. Locations with dirt and dust that may block the detector
  9. Locations that are wet/moist
  10. Locations with furniture or large items that may block air movements
  11. Locations away from apertures and ventilation channels, as air stream may be too high resulting in decreases gas concentration.
  12. Detector should not be assembled over or near a gas appliance as a small normal gas release at the beginning may lead to undesired alarms over time.

Maintenance

  1. Periodically observe the detector to make sure the Green Power Indicator is on. Press the Test button, three lights will then flash and there will be a voice prompt. This should be done once every two weeks.
  2. Use a lighter or similar item to test functionality as shown in the above Test section. The number on the digital display will change accordingly. It is recommended to test at least once every 3~4 months.
  3. Unplug the detector and wipe only with a damp cloth as needed. Do not apply abrasive solvents or other cleaners. Chemicals can permanently damage or temporarily contaminate the sensor inside.
  4. Avoid spraying air fresheners, hair spray, paint, or any other aerosols near the alarm.
  5. During any remodeling activities such as painting, wall brushing, wall-papering, staining or stripping floors/furniture, make sure to wrap the detector with plastic bags and move to a remote location to prevent possible damage or contamination of the sensor.
  6. Do not paint the unit. Paint will seal the vents and interfere with the operation of the sensor.

Warning: Alcohol vapor and similar substances (sprays, intense cigarette smoke, torch gases, cleaning agents, chemical substances with strong odors, intense meal and water vapors) can damage the sensor or lead to alarm malfunctions and temporary readings that are not proper gas readings.
The detector is only used to reduce and prevent accidents, it cannot account for everything.
Please pay attention to your daily life and be aware of safety and security concerns to minimize any risks.

What to Do in Case of Alarm

If the detector indicates an alarm signal or a gas odor is detected without a signal, keep calm and perform the following actions:

  • Shut off the gas source from the main gas control-valve or storage tank (LPG).
  • Close gas valves and gas tools (such as cookers), starting from the closest one.
  • Open the doors and windows in order to increase ventilation.
  • Do not use a lighter or a match; put out all the open fires, smoky materials, and sources that may lead to spark and/or fire.
  • Do not touch any electrical hardware including gas detector devices; do not turn them on/off, and do not interfere with their plugs (fuses, doorbells, electric switches, etc.).
  • Do not use any mobile phones and radio devices to avoid the risk of a spark.
  • Extinguish any fires, including smoky materials.
  • Call your gas distribution company from a suitable and safe location.
