The HL-NE-01 humidifier on the principle of evaporation. A filter with a large working surface facilitates the evaporation process to a large degree (evaporation of water forced by airflow). The built-in hygrometer features a digital display and continuously monitors the relative air humidity indoors.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove the device from the packaging, remove all labels, stickers, fillers and shipping safeguards. Make sure the device has not been damage during transport. Contact the seller in case of any doubts.
  2. Make sure the electrical mains parameters match the data on the device’s name plate.
  3. Place the device on a hard, dry, stable, flat and horizontal surface. Make sure there is at least 10 cm of space to walls, furniture, etc. The humidifier can only work in a vertical position.
  4. Remove the device’s housing (3), remove the floater locking ring (4) and then remove the filter (6) – Fig. 1. Remove the protective film (if present on the filter) and place it back in the tank (10). Reinstall the floater’s ring and the device’s housing (3). The housing (3) only fits the water tank (10) in one position.
  5. Pour water into the tank (10).

FILLING THE WATER TANK

CAUTION! Always switch the humidifier off and disconnect it from the power mains before filling or emptying the water tank. Only use cold, potable water or distilled water. Do not add any essential oils or any other additives to water.

  1. Slightly tilt the water intake (8).
  2. Carefully pour in around 3 litres of cold, fresh water into the tank (10) – Fig. 2.
  3. Use the water level indicator (9) to monitor the level of water (10) in the tank. The “MAX” level is equivalent to around 3 litres of water.
  4. Do not overfill the water tank – this may damage the device or cause malfunctions.
  5. After filling the tank, return the intake (8) to the original position

USING THE HUMIDIFIER

  1. Connect the power supply unit’s cord (11) to the socket (12) and the power supply unit to the mains.
CAUTION! The humidifier has been designed to operate in ambient temperature from 5 to 40°C. The surface of the room where the humidifier is operating should not exceed 44m2.

  2. Activate the device with the switch (2a) – once the humidifier is activated, the LED display (2g) shows the current level of relative humidity in percents. If the room’s humidity is over 80%, the display shows “HI”.

  3. Pressing the night mode / night lamp button (2b) for the first time activates the night lamp. The lamp operates in 7 alternating colours. Pressing the night mode / night lamp button (2b) for the second time sets the colour of the night lamp to the colour active when the button was pressed for the second time. Pressing the night mode / night lamp button (2b) for the third time deactivates the night lamp and activates the night mode – the LED display switches off and the fan’s speed is reduced. Pressing the (2b) button for the fourth deactivates the night mode. When in night mode, it is possible to adjust the airflow and the humidity level and to set the delayed stop function – 5 seconds after adjusting the parameter, the humidifier continues operating in the night mode.

  4. Press the button (2c) to activate the automatic mode. When this mode is active, the humidifier will attempt to reach humidity at 50%. As this value approaches, the fan’s speed will be reduced. Pressing the button (2c) again switches this function off. The operation of the automatic mode is indicated by the activation of a relevant icon on the LED display. Activating the automatic mode deactivates the night mode, if it has been already activated. It is possible to activate the lamp, set the delayed stop and adjust the fan’s speed in the automatic mode, but only if the room’s humidity is below 50%.

  5. Use the humidity level button (2d) to set the room’s target humidity. The target humidity value is shown on the LED display. Pressing the button (2d) consecutively adjusts the value as follows:
    CO – 40% – 45% – 50% – 55% – 60% – 65% – 70% – 75% – CO – etc (CO – continuous operation, with no target humidity value)
Once the room’s humidity starts approaching the set value, the fan’s speed will be gradually reduced. Once the room’s humidity exceeds the 5% difference to the set value again, the fan is activated again. Setting the humidity value to a value lower than the current one will not activate the humidifier or only activate it for a brief time. Since the device’s hygrometer has been calibrated for specific physical conditions (temperature, pressure, airflow), the indicated value may differ slightly from the room’s actual humidity. After 5 seconds from pressing the button (2d) last time, the LED display resumes showing the room’s current humidity.

  6. Use the button (2e) to set the device’s delayed stop time (TIMER). Press the button (2e) consecutively to increase the hour count until the humidifier is deactivated. The time can be set from 1 to 12 hours, in 1-hour increments. The symbol “00” means that the device is operating with no timer settings. The activation of the delayed stop function is indicated by the icon “Hr” shown on the LED display. After 5 seconds from pressing the button (2e) last time, the LED display resumes showing the room’s current humidity.

  7. Use the button (2f) to set the fan’s speed, which directly affects the intensity of humidifying. Four fan speeds are available: “1”, ”2”, ”3” and ”4”, where “1” is the lowest speed and “4” is the highest speed. If the room’s current humidity level exceeds the configured level, the fan’s speed cannot be adjusted. After 5 seconds from pressing the button (2f) last time, the LED display resumes showing the room’s current humidity.

  8. A couple of drops of essential oil can be added to the oil container (13), so that pleasant fragrance can permeate into the room during operation of the humidifier. Press the container gently to slide it in or out.
CAUTION! If condensation forms on the humidifier’s external surface, immediately switch it off, disconnect from the mains and wipe dry.
CAUTION! Do not add any essential oils directly to the water – use the dedicated fragrance container only.

  9. Monitor the level of water in the tank daily using the indicator (9) and refill if needed. Once the water tank is empty, the humidifier continues operating for several hours in order to completely dry the filter and prevent the proliferation of mould and bacteria after it is deactivated. This is initially indicated by two flashing, horizontal bars on the LED display (for 7 hours, at average fan speed) and then by continuously on horizontal bars (for 10 hours, at low fan speed).

  10. Once the humidifier’s operation is completed, use the switch (2a) to deactivate it and disconnect it from the mains.

  11. Every time the humidifier’s operation for the day is completed, empty the unused water (if the scheduled break in operation is more than one day).

  12. The humidifier can work as a typical fan, without a water tank. Place the fan on its side with the power supply port facing up as shown in Figure 3 and point it in the appropriate direction as needed. The fan function is turned on after turning the fan on with the switch (2a) and pressing and holding the airflow speed button (2f) this way you will force the fan to work (without checking the presence of the water container). The device is turned off when the button (2a) is pressed again.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CAUTION! Always disconnect the humidifier from the power supply unit before cleaning and servicing it. Do not submerge the humidifier in water or other liquids. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents and detergents or abrasive tools to clean the device.

  1. Remove the humidifier’s housing (3) from the water tank (10). Remove the floater’s ring (4), the filter (6) and the floater (5).

  2. Use a damp and gentle cloth to clean the humidifier’s housing and wipe it dry afterwards.

  3. Fill the water tank (10) with warm water and wash it. Use a mild cleaning agent for stubborn dirt. Clean the water tank frequently, once in 1-2 days.

  4. Gently wash the floater (5) in water.

  5. The evaporative filter’s service consists in making sure that the filter is completely dry after washing (if the break in operation is more than one day).

  6. Descale the water tank (10) periodically. Fill the tank with a mixture of vinegar and water (1:1 proportions) and leave for several hours. After descaling, pour out the mixture and rinse the tank with fresh water.

  7. The humidifier features a working hours counter. Upon reaching 4320 working hours (180 days), the device will request the replacement of the evaporative filter (6) with a new one – the LED display will show a message “FR”. Once the filter has been replaced, reset the filter’s timer by pressing and keeping depressed, for 3 seconds, the switch (2a), while the humidifier is on. When replacing the filter follow the procedure (Fig. 4 shows the installation of components):

    • switch the power supply unit off, disconnect it from the mains and from the humidifier
    • remove the humidifier’s housing (3) from the water tank (10)
    • remove the floater locking ring (4) from the evaporative filter
    • remove the old filter from the tank and install a new one
    • install the floater locking ring (4) on the filter
      – install the housing (3) on the water tank (10).
CAUTION! Do not activate the humidifier without a correctly installed floater locking ring. Before installing a new filter, always make sure its protective film has been removed.
  8. A clean and dry humidifier must be stored in a cool and dry place.
