  • Only use the kettle with the teapot or lid attached or the kettle will otherwise not switch automatically to keep warm.
  • If not using the kettle (e.g. away on holiday), unplug it.

Before using it for the first time

  • Remove any stickers or film.

  • Unwind the cable to the required length and plug in.

  • Boil some water and discard.
    →“Boiling water” see page 10

  • Rinse the teapot and tea filter.

Tip: When the water comes to a boil for the first time, add a tablespoon of white vinegar.

Making tea

Image sequence C
The preparation of Turkish tea is described here. Other types of tea may become bitter due to the long steeping time.

  1. Fill the kettle with water, observing the min and max markings.
  2. Place the kettle on the base.
  3. Fill the tea filter about 1/3 full with Turkish tea.
  4. Hang the tea filter in the teapot by the handle.
  5. Place the teapot on the kettle.
  6. Set the selection button to “boil” .
  7. Press the On/Off switch down. The switch lights up.
  8. As soon as the water has boiled, the kettle automatically switches to “keep warm” . The indicator light lights up.
  9. Remove the teapot and pour in the hot water.
  10. Refill the kettle with fresh water and place on the base.
  11. Place the teapot on the kettle. Set the selection button to “boil” .
  12. As soon as the water has boiled, the kettle automatically switches to “keep warm” . The indicator light lights up. The tea is kept warm.

Tips:

  • Add the Turkish tea to the tea filter and briefly rinse under hot running water. This will remove dust residue from the tea and improve the taste.
  • Turkish tea should be left to steep for at least 20 min. to extract the full flavor.
  • Always use up the tea extract in the teapot and do not refill with water.

Info: The water and tea are kept warm by setting the switch to . This saves up to 90% energy. If the kettle is refilled with fresh water, first bring the water to a boil and then keep it warm.

Notes:

  • Water should only be boiled with the lid closed and the limescale filter inserted.
  • For reasons of physics, condensation may form on the base. This is a normal process, and the kettle is not leaking.
