Product Usage Instructions
Installation Guide
The Installation Guide provides important information and notes for the
installation and operation of the UniversalFit lamps. Please adhere to the
following points:
- Not compatible with luminaires using a remote starter.
- Modifications void the warranty.
- Must replace fluorescent lamps as specified on the product label.
- Install with ballast listed in Philips TLED compatible ballast list.
- Refer to www.philips.com/lighting for the latest ballast compatibility guide.
Instructions for Philips UniversalFit LED Lamps
- Switch off power to the luminaire.
- Remove diffuser (if provided).
- Remove existing fluorescent lamps from the luminaire.
- Note: Verify the fluorescent tube type is listed on the label of Philips UniversalFit LED lamp.
- Install Philips UniversalFit LED lamp (one for each fluorescent lamp removed, ensure pins are firmly seated in the lamp holders).
- Replace diffuser (if removed in step 2).
- Switch on power to the luminaire.
Type A Lamp Instructions
This lamp is intended for direct substitution of a fluorescent lamp and
operates from the integral ballast without modifications to the fluorescent
luminaire.
Safety Information
Lamps must be operated within an ambient fixture temperature of -4F (-20C)
and 113F (45C) to ensure UL compliance. This device is not intended for use
with emergency exits or for emergency lighting.

Instructions

Switch-off power to the luminaire

Remove diffuser (if provided)

Remove the existing fluorescent lamps from the luminaire.
Note: Verify the fluorescent tube type is listed on the label of Philips UniversalFit LED lamp. -
Install the Philips UniversalFit LED lamp (one for each fluorescent lamp removed, ensure pins are firmly seated in the lamp holders).

Replace the diffuser (if removed in step 2).

Switch on power to the luminaire.
CAUTION – IF THE LAMP OR LUMINAIRE EXHIBITS UNDESIRABLE OPERATION
(BUZZING, FLICKERING, ETC.), IMMEDIATELY TURN OFF POWER, REMOVE LAMP FROM
LUMINAIRE AND CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER
CAUTION – RISK OF FIRE. DO NOT INSTALL IN A PRE-HEAT LUMINAIRE
CAUTION – RISK OF FIRE. PERFORM A VISUAL INSPECTION TO ENSURE LAMPHOLDERS
ARE N OT DAMAGED OR LOOSE. IF DAMAGED, CORRODED, CHARRED, BLACKENED, OR LOOSE,
CONTACT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN FOR PROPER REPLACEMENT.
- TYPE A LAMP – Intended for direct substitution of a fluorescent lamp and operating from the integral ballast without any modifications to the fluorescent luminaire.
- This device complies with Part 18 of the FCC Rules.
- THIS PRODUCT MAY CAUSE INTERFERENCE TO RADIO EQUIPMENT AND SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED NEAR MARITIME SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT OR OTHER CRITICAL NAVIGATION OR COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT OPERATING BETWEEN 0.45 – 30MHZ.
