Important Safeguards

  Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.

When using electrical products, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:

  • Do not install the product near heat sources (air conditioners, radiators, humidifiers etc.).
  • This product contains no user serviceable parts and requires little maintenance. Leave any servicing or repairs to qualified personnel only. » Do not open the product housing. Do not insert any foreign objects into the inside of the housing.
  • This product employs non-replaceable LED light sources.
  • Do not immerse the product in water. » Always switch off the product before cleaning.

Battery Warnings

NOTICE  The batteries are not included.

  • Always insert batteries correctly with regards to polarity (+ and -) marked on the battery and the product.
  • Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed from product and properly disposed.
  • Replace the batteries when the light output starts to become weak. Do not mix old and new or other battery types.
  • Replace all batteries at the same time.
  • Replace fully discharged batteries immediately.

Intended Use

  • This product is intended to provide light when ambient lighting becomes insufficient. It is ideal for adding light to kitchens, bathrooms, children’s bedrooms, landings and hallways.
  • This product is intended to be used in indoor areas only.
  • This product is not intended for use with emergency exits.

Before First Use

Risk of suffocation! Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

  • Remove all the packing materials.
  • Remove and review all components before installation.
  • Check the product for transport damages.

Preparation

Inserting batteries

NOTICE

  • Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use.
  • Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
  • Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+and-).
  1.  To open the battery compartment cover (F), push the cover downwards and lift up (Fig. 1).
  2. Insert 4x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment and close the cover (F) (Fig. 2).

Installation

  • When installing the product above stove tops and sinks, follow the minimum safe distances (Fig. 3).

  • This product should be installed and maintained only by an experienced adult. If in doubt, consult a professional

  • An adult must install/assemble this product.

  • Do not hang anything on the product. Before mounting, determine the suitable mounting location. The product must be fixed to a wooden or masonry/concrete wall using fasteners that are appropriate for the mounting surface.

  • Do not install on drywalls, wall boards or thin plywood. The mounting surface must be capable of supporting the weight of the product. Do not drill into any pipes or power lines beneath the surface during mounting holes preparation. Use voltage/metal detector before dilling any holes to eliminate any such potential risks.

Wall and under-counter mounting

  1. Mark 2 drill holes on the wall 1.97″ (5 cm) apart (Fig. 4).
  2. Drill 2 holes to a depth of 0.98″ (25 mm) and then install the wall anchors (H) into the holes (Fig. 5 and 6).
  3. Align the holes on the mounting bracket (E) with the holes on the wall and install the screws (G) into the wall anchors (H) (Fig. 7).
  4. Insert the product into the mounting bracket (E) bottom side first then press the top side down to secure in place (Fig. 8).

Operation

  • To switch the product on, press the on/off button (A) once (Fig. 9).
  • To switch the product off, press the on/off button (A) again (Fig. 9).

Cleaning and Storage

NOTICE

  • Switch the product off before cleaning.
  • During cleaning do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.

Cleaning

  • To clean the product, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. )
  • Wipe the product dry after cleaning. )
  • Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.

Storage

  • Store the product in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
