Universal Wall Remote

GENERAL INFORMATION

This remote controller is designed for 3-speed ceiling fan to separately control your ceiling fan speed and light brightness.
There are eight buttons to control the speed of the fan and off, and timing.
The light dimmer button will control the light brightness dimmer and off ( dimmable LED or incandescent only ). The blue indicator on the transmitter will light when one of the eight buttons is pressed.

INSTRUCTION OF INSTALLATION AND OPERATION

Read instructions completely before installing the remote.

WARNING: If the color of the household supply wires is different than what is referred to in the instructions below, a professional electrician should determine proper wiring.

CAUTION:

  • Do not install in damp For indoor use only.
  • Do not use with fans that have integrated remote
  • Do not use with hugger-style
  • Be sure the outlet box is properly grounded or that a green or bare (ground) wire is
  • This unit is intended to control a ceiling fan with electrical source of AC 110/120V,
  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do NOT use a full-range dimmer switch to control the fan

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Use existing pull chains on the desired fan to set fan speed to HIGH and to turn the light
  2. Turn off circuit breakers and wall switch to the fan.   DANGER: Failure to disconnect power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death.
  3. Lower the canopy of the previously assembled fan and insert receiver into the mounting bracket with antenna end first and the flat side facing the ceiling. Note: If installing this product with a new fan, insert the receiver in the mounting bracket before wiring the fan; wire the fan according to these instructions, then continue fan assembly as directed in the fan’s instruction manual.
  4. CONNECT TO

Red receiver wire(AC IN L)…….. Red supply wire
White receiver wire(AC IN N)……. White supply wire
White receiver wire(TO MOTOR N)……. White com(FAN/LIGHT N) wire
Black receiver wire(TO MOTOR L)……. Black fan wire
Blue receiver wire(TO LIGHT L)……. Blue light wire

  1. Wrap electrical tape (not included) around each wire connector down to the wire. Then, push wire connections into the outlet box. Place the White wire connections on the opposite side of the outlet box from the Black and Blue wire

  4. Remove the battery door from the back of the remote using a flat-head screwdriver (not included). Insert the CR2032 batteries into the remote; ensure the positive pole of the batteries face up and then replace the battery Press the HIGH SPEED button to ensure the LED indicator illuminates and the fan turns on.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

To operate the fan using the remote, make sure fan pull chain is on high and light is turned on. Then press and release the following buttons:
Fan Off – Turns the power to fan off.
Light On/Off – Turns the light on and off. Press and hold to dim or brighten lights (for dimmable bulbs only).
High Speed – Turns on fan at high speed. Medium Speed – Turns on fan at medium speed. Low Speed – Turns on fan at low speed.
LED indicator should illuminate when any remote button is pressed. If not, replace the CR2032 batteries.
LEARN button – Syncs remote to receiver (see TROUBLESHOOTING for instructions).
Note: To access LEARN button, remove battery door from back of the remote using a flat-head screwdriver.

Connecting to the Smart Life App

  1. First download the free “Smart Life” App from the App Store or Google Play or scan the QR Code below. Note: This ceiling fan needs to use 4Ghz WIFI to work when connecting the device, and after connecting, it can use the 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz.

  2. Open the Tuya Smart App to create your The account with “Smart Life” can be registered through E-mail or Mobile phone.

  3. Connect the device to the Smart Life App:(Two ways to connect)

A. AutoScan(WIFI&BluetoothOn)

  1. Click ” +” and then click “Add Device”
  2. Automatic scanning will begin
  3. Disconnect the power of the ceiling fan for 5 seconds, then turn it back on, press and hold the “” button for 5 seconds until the

light flashes twice to enter AP mode

  1. Once the device is scanned, click “Add”
  2. Connect to the home WiFi
  3. Wait for the connection to complete

B.   Manual Addition(WIFI&BluetoothOn)

  1. Click ” +” and then click “Add Device”

  2. Select “Small Home Appliances” on the left and find “Fan(BLE)”

  3. Disconnect the power of the ceiling fan for 5 seconds, then turn it back on, press and hold the ” ” for 5 seconds until the light flashes twice to enter AP mode

  4. Click “Next” to start searching for the device

  5. Once the device is found, connect your home WiFi

  6. Wait for the connection to complete

  7. Connect the device to the Alexa:

Connecting to Smart Devices

  1. Make sure you have connected the device to the app and it is working normally
  2. Open Alexa app, go to the skill to search “Smart Life” skill
  3. Link the skill, log in with your Smart Life App account and password, then authorize and connect with Smart Life App
  4. Then the Alexa will find the device automatically

2.  Connect the device to the Google Assistant:

  1. Make sure you have downloaded and installed the “Smart Life” application and added and connected your smart devices
  2. Open “Google Assistant” and click on the small circle icon in the upper-right corner, then click the “Devices” option
  3. Click “Add devices” and then click “Link a smart home device”
  4. Click the search button in the upper-right corner, search for “Smart Life”, and select it
  5. Choose “Agree and link”
  6. Log in to your Smart Life account and click “Authorize”
  7. Finish the setup

TROUBLESHOOTING

LED indicator on the remote illuminates, but the remote won’t control the

fan. The remote may need to be re-synced.

The remote is synced to the receiver at the factory. Occasionally, power surges can cause the remote to become un-synced. Whenever necessary, follow the syncing instructions below.
SYNCING INSTRUCTIONS: Switch the power to the fan off and back on again. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the HIGH SPEED and LOW SPEED buttons (or the “LEARN” button, located in the battery compartment) for 5 seconds. Fan will turn on at low speed and light off. This confirms the syncing process is successful.

The LED indicator on the remote does not illuminate.

The battery most likely needs to be replaced or it is not oriented correctly in the battery compartment. If battery is depleted rapidly, please replace the battery in a timely manner.

The LED indicator stays on.

Ensure one of buttons is not stuck in the down position.

Remote controls more than one fan.

Turn off the power to the fans you don’t want synced. Follow the syncing instructions listed above. Then, turn on the power to the other fans

Dimming feature does not function.

Ensure the bulbs are incandescent or other dimmable bulbs

Fan will not run at high speed.

If your fan has manual pull chains to operate the fan speed, be sure the pull chain is manually set to HIGH SPEED. If your pull chain is set to LOW or MEDIUM SPEED, the remote will not override the manual pull chain setting.

Light will not turn on.

If you fan has manual pull chains, be sure the light pull chain is set to ON. The remote will not override the manual pull chain setting.
