UPSTREAM SIDE
Step 2 – Clip in the Tungsten Needles
Insert the 3 Tungsten Needle Rods (F) into the 3 needle support guides and
clip them into place.
The needle rods go into the guides and are clipped into place with a twisting
motion going from the bottom up. (Fig. 9)
WARNING
DO NOT FORCETHE RODS. They twist in easily and snap into position.
As an option, the needle rods can be left in a downwards facing position to
create installation space if required. They must be flipped up into position
after the metal cabinet is secured in place.
AIR FLOW
UPSTREAM SIDE
Step 3 – Secure the cabinet
Secure the Metal Cabinet (C) into position.
The outer duct needs to be at least 16”x25”. (Fig. 10a)
INSTALLATION CAUTION
MAKE SURE TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE CLEARANCE FOR CHARGING NEEDLES.
NOTE
NEEDLE RODS AND POWER BAR MUST BE FACING UPSTREAM.
Secure the Metal Cabinet (C) into position.
The outer duct needs to be at least 20”x25”. 20”x25”.
(Fig. 10b)
At least 10″ front clearance and 4″ top & bottom clearance is needed for the
charging needles. (Fig. 11A) If clearance is not available, remove needle rods
that have insufficient clearance. (Fig. 11B) The Power Bar has built-in
intelligence and will adjust output automatically for optimum performance.
Step 4 – Install Grounding Screen
The Grounding Screen (B) slides into the U-channel slot downstream of the
air cleaner.
The grounding screen is downstream of the Power Bar and Needle Assembly.
(Fig. 12)
DOWNSTREAM SIDE
Step 5 – Insert Media Cartridge
Slide the media cartridge into the center U-channels with black stripes
UPSTREAM.
Be sure to push it all the way in so that it is flush with the cabinet front.
(Fig. 13)
Step 6 – Attach Front Cover Panel
There are three steps to installing front door on the UltraClean 99. 6a) Align
the front door with the sides of the metal cabinet. On the base of the door
there is a metal clip that fits into the base of the metal cabinet (Figure
14a)
Align & lower the front door on a slight angle so the base door lip slots
into the metal cabinet base (Figure 14b)
6b) There is a black spring loaded locking button recessed in the top of
the front door. Push this black locking button down and HOLD DOWN. (Figure
15a)
6c) Push the door forward so that it is flush with the metal cabinet & aligned
with the sides of the cabinet then release the black locking button. This will
“lock” the front door into place. NOTE: Be sure to hold the button down until
the door is flush before you release it. (Figure 15b)
Step 7 – Wiring connection
Note: This UltraClean 99 High Temp model can be converted in the eld
between 120 & 240 volt.
The unit is factory set with one of the voltages based on the part code below
and must be connected to that voltage. IF you wish to change the voltage or
need to change the voltage in the eld follow the voltage conversion directions
below.
FACTORY SET VOLTAGES BY PART CODE
120V, 50/60Hz, 2A- 7RUC1625 & 7RUC2025
240V, 50/60Hz, 1A- 7RUCH1625 & 7RUCH2025
120 Volt High Temp Models 7RUC1625 & 7RUC2025
- Green wire goes to ground .
- White wire to neutral.
- Red wire to EAC board terminal or 120Volt fan circuit
NOTE: Black wire is tied o & non functional.
It is provided in case you need to eld convert the unit to 240 volt.
240 Volt High Temp Models 7RUCH1625 & 7RUCH2025
- Green wire goes to ground.
- Black wire to 240V L1 line voltage,
- Red wire to 240V L2 line voltage
NOTE: White wire is tied off and non functional. It is provided in case
you need to convert to 120 volt in the field.
THE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE POWER CAN BE TURNED ON FOR THE SYSTEM
VOLTAGE CONVERSIONS
The UltraClean High Temp model can be converted in the field to 120 volt or 240 volts. These models are shipped from the factory with one voltage identified by the part code. To convert the voltage, follow the directions below.
120 Volt conversion to 240 Volt
1. Disconnect all power
2. Remove the UC 99 access door by depressing the black recessed button
in the top of the unit. Hold the button down and angle the door forward to
release|
3. Remove the two upper electronic module access screws on the top of the
metal cabinet near the front edge on the left and right side
DO NOT DISCARD – You will need to reinsert these screws
4. Pull on the white safety switch button on the right side of the upper
electronic module to slide the board forward until you can see the two small
black voltage switches with red toggles near the back of the module|
5. Move both red toggles on the top of the black switches from 115V to
230V. The black switches with red toggles are identified on the green circuit
board as SW1 and SW2.|
6. Make sure all wires are connected and nothing has become loose.NOTE: The
module must be inserted into the left & right side rail slots. Be sure to
insert and align properly.|
7. Slide the module back in and reinsert the screws DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.8.
Reinsert the door.9. Follow the 240 Volt wiring instructions above to complete
the install & the conversion to 240 volts.10. Replace the label on the top of
the air cleaner checking off the 240-volt model code. This is important to let
any future technician know that the model is now 240 Volt.|

TROUBLE SHOOTING
The drawing below details the fuses and the circuits that they protect. The upper cabinet module has 4 fuse protectors and each one has a plastic cap. The cap must be removed to provide access to the fuse for inspection and replacement if required. If a fuse is “blown” be sure to recheck your wiring for the voltage required. Also inspect that no wiring is pinched, exposed, or damaged. If a connection has been made in error or there is a voltage spike in the system a fuse may blow and require replacement.
NOTE: All UltraClean 99 units come with spare fuses so DO NOT DISCARD. It is best to leave these fuses at the jobsite in a place that is easily accessed by a servicing technician or a technician can tag them and store them in a toolbox.
If all connections have been made correctly then everything will operate as specified. If there is a connection issue or lack of power in the unit be sure to inspect the fuses in the upper cabinet module. (See fuse diagram below)
