VacSacc 9410-001 Tissue Collection Device Instruction Manual

The Tissue Collection Device is designed to separate up to 200 ml of tissue or other solid matter from aspirate. The device may only be used in conjunction with a VacSax 8.5 mm port cap disposable liner. The unit carton can be used for the internal transportation of the tissue collection device to other areas. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure the safe functioning of the devices.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Remove tissue collection device from its packaging, retain carton and bag for later transportation/disposal.

Install the VacSax liner in its canister and connect to the vacuum source according to its instructions for use. Before use, ensure the small tab on lid is located between the embossed indicating arrows on the side of the bowl, this will ensure the spout is correctly located in the sump.

Slide the extended lip on the tissue collection device between the handle of the liner and the liner itself, as shown in Fig. 1. Push the device down until it locks into its position.

Connect the supplied tissue collection device tubing onto the Patient port of the liner cap; connect the other end of the tube to the Vacuum (out) port of the tissue collection device. See fig. 1.
INSTRUCTIONS

Connect the patient or catheter tubing to the Patient (in) port of the tissue collection device, the stepped port will accept 11.5, 12.7 and 14mm bore tubing. Set vacuum at desired level, and check there is vacuum present at the Patient (catheter) end of the tubing.

The tissue collection device is now ready for use.

If flow becomes low, your tissue collection device may be blocked or full, check vacuum is present by removing the tube from the Vacuum (out) port. Replace tissue collection device if necessary.

Performance:
Collection capacity: 200ml
Maximum working vacuum: -93 Kpa (-700mm/Hg)

At this point formalin or similar preservative may be added via the Patient port or the lid/basket removed.

  • Remove stopper from Patient port and separate the smaller stopper.

  •  Push the large stopper firmly over the Patient port, and the smaller stopper over the Vacuum port see fig 2.
