WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, personal injury and damage, read and strictly follow the instructions below :

Read this manual carefully before using your appliance. It is advisable to keep this manual in a safe place for external consultation.
This appliance is designed and intended exclusively for domestic use and on a flat and dry surface. Due to its construction this device is not intended for outdoor use, indoor use only. This appliance must be connected to an effective grounding system.

Remove all items from the package and remove the adhesive tapes preventing operation of the appliance before use. Assemble the appliance completely before using it. Electrical connections must be made in accordance with current regulations and by a qualified electrician.

Before any electrical connection and in order to avoid any risk of electric shock, switch off all power supply and put back into service only when the installation is completely finished. Plug the appliance into an AC outlet that supplies power (specifications, voltage, frequency, etc.) to the specifications on the appliance’s rating plate. Check that the voltage of your electrical installation corresponds to that of the appliance before connecting it.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they are continuously supervised. This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Children must not play with the appliance. Never leave unattended children near the appliance or persons with disabilities.

Never leave children play with polythene bags or wrapping film, risk of choking. Never leave infants, elderly or sick people in the airflow of the appliance. Keep the appliance in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children, the elderly and the disabled. For safety reasons, never leave the appliance unattended while it is working. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or persons of similar qualification in order to avoid a hazard. Never unplug or move the appliance by pulling on the power cable.

Turn off and unplug the appliance before moving it. Never use the appliance without its protective grilles. Once assembled, it is strictly forbidden to disassemble the protective grilles. Never put your hands and / or objects into the protective grilles. Avoid contact with moving parts.

Do not use water or detergent to clean the appliance. A dry cloth will be preferable. Before cleaning, be sure to switch off the power supply. This appliance is intended for use in an area with good air circulation, and should not be used in a closed room without air circulation. This appliance can be used only inside a sheltered room. Do not use the appliance in a damp place, near a shower, swimming pool, bathtub…

Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Do not expose the appliance to water spray, splashing water. This appliance is not intended for use in barns, stables or similar rooms. Do not place the appliance in or near a heat source. The appliance must not be used in places where the presence of flammable vapors or explosive dust is likely. Thoroughly inspect the appliance and do not use it if it is damaged or if you see any deterioration.

Do not use the appliance if it malfunctions or if its power cord or plug is damaged. Do not use the appliance if its blades, protective grilles, power cord, or plug are damaged, if the fan is not working properly, if it has been dropped, or if it has been damaged in any other way. Contact an authorized service center to have the appliance serviced and repaired.

In the event of abnormal noise, smell or smoke, immediately stop the appliance and call an authorized repairer. If not used, turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the AC power. When the tank contains water, do not move the appliance to avoid splashing or overflowing the tank. The water level must never exceed the maximum level.

Be aware that high humidity levels may encourage the growth of biological organisms in the environment. Do not permit the area around the humidifier to become damp or wet. If dampness occurs, turn the output of the humidifier down. If the humidifier output volume cannot be turned down, use the humidifier intermittently. Do not allow absorbent materials, such as carpeting, curtains, drapes, or tablecloths, to become damp.

Unplug the appliance during emptying and cleaning. Never leave water in the reservoir when the appliance is not in use. Empty and clean the humidifier before storage. Clean the humidifier before next use. The applicable operating temperature range for this unit is 5°C to 45°C. The unit’s motherboard (PCB) is designed with a fuse to provide overcurrent protection. The fuse characteristics are printed on the motherboard, such as: Type 524 or 5 H / 250V / 3.15A…

Do not obstruct air inlets, intakes and outlets.
Carry the appliance in its original packaging. Use only FANELITE spare parts.

WARNING: regarding the use of R290 refrigerant

Do not use any means other than those recommended by the manufacturer to speed up the defrosting process or to clean the appliance.

The appliance should be stored in a room where there is no continuously operating source of ignition (e.g. open flames, an operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater). Do not pierce or burn.

Please note: some refrigerants are odorless.

The appliance must be installed, operated and stored in a room with sufficient floor space for the amount of refrigerant charged in the system. For specific information on gas type and volume, please refer to the nameplate located on the unit.

The device must be installed, used and stored in a room with a floor space greater than 4 m2. All national gas regulations must be observed. Make sure that the ventilation openings are never blocked. The device must be stored in such a way as to prevent mechanical damage. The device should be stored in a well-ventilated area and the room size should match the room area specified for operation. Any person working on or opening the cooling system must hold a current certificate issued by an approved assessment authority, attesting to their ability to handle refrigerants safely in accordance with a recognized assessment specification.

Repair operations must not be carried out only as recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Maintenance and repair operations which require the intervention of other qualified persons must be carried out under the supervision of the person competent for the use of flammable refrigerants. The appliance should be stored in a room where there are no continuously operating open flames (e.g. an operating gas appliance) or sources of ignition (e.g. an operating electric heater).

This symbol indicates that the appliance uses a flammable refrigerant. In the event of a leak and exposure to an external ignition source, there is a risk of fire.

Any intervention on the appliance by an unqualified person is prohibited.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING

Remote control

Control panel

  • Your appliance is already assembled and ready to use. Plug in the power cord. Using the control panel or remote control :

Power On/Off

  • Press this button to turn the unit on or off.

Function

  • Press this button to select the function : air conditioner, dehumidifier, fan. The corresponding indicator lights up indicating the selected function.

Temperature +

  • Cooling function: This button increases the preset temperature by 1℃ with each press and the maximum limit is 30℃.
  • Dehumidification function: This button increases the preset humidity by 5% with each press and the maximum limit is 90%.
  • HUMIDITY ADJUSTMENT: “CO (continuous dehumidification)” → 30% → 35% → 40% → 45% → 50% → 55% → 60% → 65% → 70% → 75% → 80% → 85% → 90% → “CO (continuous dehumidification)”.

Temperature –

  • Cooling function: This button decreases the preset temperature by 1℃ with each press and the minimum limit is 17℃.
  • Dehumidification function: this button decreases the preset humidity by 5% with each press and the minimum limit is 30%.
  • HUMIDITY ADJUSTMENT: “CO (continuous dehumidification)” → 90% → 80% → 80% → 75% → 70% → 65% → 60% → 55% → 50% → 45% → 40% → 35% → 30% → “CO (continuous dehumidification)”.

Screen

The display shows the current setting temperature or timer setting. The screen is also used to display error codes in the event of a fault, see ERROR CODES (at the end of this manual)

Speed

Press this button to select fan speed, low speed (LOW), high speed (HIGH) or automatic (AUTO). If AUTO is selected (during cooling function), the unit will automatically adjust the speed between LOW and HIGH depending on the difference between the setting temperature and the room temperature.

Timer

  • Timer (On): The on timer is used to turn the device on automatically once the selected time has been reached. Press this button (device off) to set the timer (from 1 to 24 hours). Once the selected time has been reached, the device will turn on automatically.
  • Timer (Off): The sleep timer is used to automatically turn off the device once the selected time has been reached. Press this button (appliance running) to set the timer (from 1 to 24 hours). Once the selected time has been reached, the device will automatically turn off.

The indicator lights up when the timer is activated.

Fan function

  • When the fan function is used, the compressor does not operate.
  • The ventilation speed can be adjusted with the speed button.

Dehumidifier function

  • When the dehumidifier function is used, the humidity of the ambient air can be reduced.

Sleep mode

  • In cooling mode, press the SLEEP button to adjust the temperature.
  • Press the SLEEP button again to cancel the setting.
  • The indicator lights up when this mode is activated.

Oscillating mode

  • Press this button to activate oscillating mode (up/down). Press again to turn off oscillating mode.
  • Note: The shutters will close automatically when the device is turned off.

The indicator lights up when this mode is activated.

Alarm

  • When the water tank is full, “E4” will be displayed on the screen.
  • Please empty the water tank, reinstall the tank and press the power button to restart the device.

Adding water

  • Technology without hot air and without evacuation pipe, the heat is absorbed by the water contained in the tank which evaporates gradually.
  • When the water fill indicator is on, please fill the water tank (do not exceed the maximum limit indicated) and then turn the device back on.

Continuous drainage

  • When dehumidifying, water can be stored in the water tank or continuously discharged through a PVC tube (not included).
  • Before draining the water continuously, please remove the water tank and connect a drain tube to the drain hole. Then replace the water tank. The drainage tube should be placed lower than the drainage hole to allow water to drain.
  • When the drain tube is not installed, water will drain directly into the water tank. When the water tank is full, the screen will display “E4” then the device will stop. At this point the tank should be emptied.

Notes

  • If you plan not to use your device for a long time, we advise you to unplug it from the mains.
  • Before the 1st use of the device, please remove the water tank and connect the water pipe into the drainage hole. Make sure the water line is pointing vertically downward.

FULL/EMPTY THE WATER TANK

  • Before emptying or filling the water tank, be sure to switch off the power supply.

To fill or empty the tank

  • Turn off and unplug the device. Remove the water tank then empty or pour out the water.
  • Replace the water tank. Press the POWER button to turn on the device.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Before cleaning your appliance, carefully read the safety instructions in this manual.

We recommend that you keep your appliance clean and clean it at least once a month. It is recommended that you periodically check the condition of the power cord. If necessary, replacement requires the use of a special tool : contact an authorized service center for repairs. If the unit is not used for a long time, store it away from dust and moisture ; We recommend using its original packaging.

Before cleaning, be sure to switch off the power supply. To remove dust inside and on the grilles, use a vacuum cleaner with a suitable nozzle. Do not disassemble the fan to clean it. Do not use water or detergent to clean the appliance. Use a soft, dry cloth. Regularly clean the water tank and all parts in contact with water.

Cleaning the filters

The filter frames and filters on both sides of the device can be easily removed by gently pressing the frame. Wash the filters with cold water (at a temperature below 40℃) every two weeks and replace the filters after they have air-dried naturally.

Troubleshooting

Information on servicing

  1. Checks to the area
    • Prior to beginning work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks are necessary to ensure that the risk of ignition is minimised. For repair to the refrigerating system, the following precautions shall be complied with prior to conducting work on the system.
  2. Work procedure
    • Work shall be undertaken under a controlled procedure so as to minimise the risk of a flammable gas or vapour being present while the work is being performed.
  3. Checking for presence of refrigerant
    • The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector prior to and during work, to ensure the technician is aware of potentially flammable atmospheres. Ensure that the leak detection equipment being used is suitable for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e. non-sparking, adequately sealed or intrinsically safe.
  4. Presence of fire extinguisher
    • If any hot work is to be conducted on the refrigeration equipment or any associated parts, appropriate fire extinguishing equipment shall be available to hand. Have a dry powder or CO2 fire extinguisher adjacent to the charging area.
  5. No ignition sources
    • No person carrying out work in relation to a refrigeration system which involves exposing any pipe work that contains or has contained flammable refrigerant shall use any sources of ignition in such a manner that it may lead to the risk of fire or explosion. All possible ignition sources, including cigarette smoking, should be kept sufficiently far away from the site of installation, repairing, removing and disposal, during which flammable refrigerant can possibly be released to the surrounding space. Prior to work taking place, the area around the equipment is to be surveyed to make sure that there are no flammable hazards or ignition risks. “No Smoking” signs shall be displayed.
  6. Ventilated area
    • Ensure that the area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated before breaking into the system or conducting any hot work. A degree of ventilation shall continue during the period that the work is carried out. The ventilation should safely disperse any released refrigerant and preferably expel it externally into the atmosphere.
  7. Checks to the refrigeration equipment
    • Where electrical components are being changed, they shall be fit for the purpose and to the correct specification. At all times the manufacturer’s maintenance and service guidelines shall be followed. If in doubt consult the manufacturer’s technical department for assistance.
    • The following checks shall be applied to installations using flammable refrigerants:
    • The charge size is in accordance with the room size within which the refrigerant containing parts are installed;
    • The ventilation machinery and outlets are operating adequately and are not obstructed;
    • If an indirect refrigerating circuit is being used, the secondary circuit shall be checked for the presence of refrigerant;
    • Marking to the equipment continues to be visible and legible. Markings and signs that are illegible shall be corrected;
    • Refrigeration pipe or components are installed in a position where they are unlikely to be exposed to any substance which may corrode refrigerant containing components, unless the components are constructed of materials which are inherently resistant to being corroded or are suitably protected against being so corroded.
  8. Checks to electrical devices
    • Repair and maintenance to electrical components shall include initial safety checks and component inspection procedures. If a fault exists that could compromise safety, then no electrical supply shall be connected to the circuit until it is satisfactorily dealt with. If the fault cannot be corrected immediately but it is necessary to continue operation, an adequate temporary solution shall be used. This shall be reported to the owner of the equipment so all parties are advised.
    • Initial safety checks shall include:
    • That capacitors are discharged: this shall be done in a safe manner to avoid possibility of sparking;
    • That there no live electrical components and wiring are exposed while charging, recovering or purging the system;
    • That there is continuity of earth bonding.

Repairs to sealed components

  1. During repairs to sealed components, all electrical supplies shall be disconnected from the equipment being worked upon prior to any removal of sealed covers, etc. If it isabsolutely. necessary to have an electrical supply to equipment during servicing, then a permanently operating form of leak detection shall be located at the most critical point to warn of a potentially hazardous situation.
  2. Particular attention shall be paid to the following to ensure that by working on electrical components, the casing is not altered in such a way that the level of protection is affected. This shall include damage to cables, excessive number of connections, terminals not made to original specification, damage to seals, incorrect fitting of glands, etc.
    • Ensure that apparatus is mounted securely.
    • Ensure that seals or sealing materials have not degraded such that they no longer serve the purpose of preventing the ingress of flammable atmospheres. Replacement parts shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

NOTE

  • The use of silicon sealant may inhibit the effectiveness of some types of leak detection equipment. Intrinsically safe components do not have to be isolated prior to working on them.

Repair to intrinsically safe components

  • Do not apply any permanent inductive or capacitance loads to the circuit without ensuring that this will not exceed the permissible voltage and current permitted for the equipment in use.
  • Intrinsically safe components are the only types that can be worked on while live in the presence of a flammable atmosphere. The test apparatus shall be at the correct rating.
  • Replace components only with parts specified by the manufacturer. Other parts may result in the ignition of refrigerant in the atmosphere from a leak.

Cabling

Check that cabling will not be subject to wear, corrosion, excessive pressure, vibration, sharp edges or any other adverse environmental effects. The check shall also take into account the effects of aging or continual vibration from sources such as compressors or fans.

Detection of flammable refrigerants

  • Under no circumstances shall potential sources of ignition be used in the searching for or detection of refrigerant leaks. A halide torch (or any other detector using a naked flame) shall not be used.

Leak detection methods

  • The following leak detection methods are deemed acceptable for systems containing flammable refrigerants.
  • Electronic leak detectors shall be used to detect flammable refrigerants, but the sensitivity may not be adequate, or may need re-calibration. (Detection equipment shall be calibrated in a refrigerant-free area.) Ensure that the detector is not a potential source of ignition and is suitable for the refrigerant used.
  • Leak detection equipment shall be set at a percentage of the LFL of the refrigerant and shall be calibrated to the refrigerant employed and the appropriate percentage of gas (25 % maximum) is confirmed.
  • Leak detection fluids are suitable for use with most refrigerants but the use of detergents containing chlorine shall be avoided as the chlorine may react with the refrigerant and corrode the copper pipe-work.
  • If a leak is suspected, all naked flames shall be removed/ extinguished.
  • If a leakage of refrigerant is found which requires brazing, all of the refrigerant shall be recovered from the system, or isolated (by means of shut off valves) in a part of the system remote from the leak. Oxygen free nitrogen (OFN) shall then be purged through the system both before and during the brazing process.

Removal and evacuation

When breaking into the refrigerant circuit to make repairs – or for any other purpose –conventional procedures shall be used. However, it is important that best practice is followed since flammability is a consideration. The following procedure shall be adhered to:

  • Remove refrigerant;
  • Purge the circuit with inert gas;
  • Evacuate;
  • Purge again with inert gas;
  • Open the circuit by cutting or brazing.

The refrigerant charge shall be recovered into the correct recovery cylinders. The system shall be “flushed” with OFN to render the unit safe. This process may need to be repeated several times. Compressed air or oxygen shall not be used for this task.

Flushing shall be achieved by breaking the vacuum in the system with OFN and continuing to fill until the working pressure is achieved, then venting to atmosphere, and finally pulling down to a vacuum. This process shall be repeated until no refrigerant is within the system. When the final OFN charge is used, the system shall be vented down to atmospheric pressure to enable work to take place. This operation is absolutely vital if brazing operations on the pipe work are to take place. Ensure that the outlet for the vacuum pump is not close to any ignition sources and there is ventilation available.

Charging procedures

In addition to conventional charging procedures, the following requirements shall be followed.

  • Ensure that contamination of different refrigerants does not occur when using charging equipment. Hoses or lines shall be as short as possible to minimise the amount of refrigerant contained in them.
  • Cylinders shall be kept upright.
  • Ensure that the refrigeration system is earthed prior to charging the system with refrigerant.
  • Label the system when charging is complete (if not already).
  • Extreme care shall be taken not to overfill the refrigeration system. Prior to recharging the system it shall be pressure tested with OFN. The system shall be leak tested on completion of charging but prior to commissioning. A follow up leak test shall be carried out prior to leaving the site.

Decommissioning

Before carrying out this procedure, it is essential that the technician is completely familiar with the equipment and all its detail. It is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are recovered safely. Prior to the task being carried out, an oil and refrigerant sample shall be taken in case analysis is required prior to re-use of reclaimed refrigerant. It is essential that electrical power is available before the task is commenced.

  • Become familiar with the equipment and its operation.
  • Isolate system electrically.
  • Before attempting the procedure ensure that:
    • Mechanical handling equipment is available, if required, for handling refrigerant cylinders;
    • All personal protective equipment is available and being used correctly;
    • The recovery process is supervised at all times by a competent person;
    • Recovery equipment and cylinders conform to the appropriate standards.
  • Pump down refrigerant system, if possible.
  • If a vacuum is not possible, make a manifold so that refrigerant can be removed from various parts of the system.
  • Make sure that cylinder is situated on the scales before recovery takes place.
  • Start the recovery machine and operate in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Do not overfill cylinders. (No more than 80 % volume liquid charge).
  • Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of the cylinder, even temporarily.
  • When the cylinders have been filled correctly and the process completed, make sure that the cylinders and the equipment are removed from site promptly and all isolation valves on the equipment are closed off.
  • Recovered refrigerant shall not be charged into another refrigeration system unless it has been cleaned and checked.

Labelling

Equipment shall be labelled stating that it has been de-commissioned and emptied of refrigerant. The label shall be dated and signed. Ensure that there are labels on the equipment stating the equipment contains flammable refrigerant.

Recovery

When removing refrigerant from a system, either for servicing or decommissioning, it is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are removed safely. When transferring refrigerant into cylinders, ensure that only appropriate refrigerant recovery cylinders are employed. Ensure that the correct number of cylinders for holding the total system charge is available. All cylinders to be used are designated for the recovered refrigerant and labelled for that refrigerant (i.e. special cylinders for the recovery of refrigerant). Cylinders shall be complete with pressure relief valve and associated shut-off valves in good working order. Empty recovery cylinders are evacuated and, if possible, cooled before recovery occurs.

The recovery equipment shall be in good working order with a set of instructions concerning the equipment that is at hand and shall be suitable for the recovery of flammable refrigerants. In addition, a set of calibrated weighing scales shall be available and in good working order. Hoses shall be complete with leak-free disconnect couplings and in good condition. Before using the recovery machine, check that it is in satisfactory working order, has been properly maintained and that any associated electrical components are sealed to prevent ignition in the event of a refrigerant release. Consult manufacturer if in doubt.

The recovered refrigerant shall be returned to the refrigerant supplier in the correct recovery cylinder, and the relevant Waste Transfer Note arranged. Do not mix refrigerants in recovery units and especially not in cylinders. If compressors or compressor oils are to be removed, ensure that they have been evacuated to an acceptable level to make certain that flammable refrigerant does not remain within the lubricant. The evacuation process shall be carried out prior to returning the compressor to the suppliers. Only electric heating to the compressor body shall be employed to accelerate this process. When oil is drained from a system, it shall be carried out safely.

Check that the plug has been wired correctly.
