  1. Using a pen or small cylindrical rod, insert it into the shock absorber protective pack. Avoid sharp or pointed edges to prevent damage (refer to Picture 1 and Picture 2).
  2. Create a cavity, remove the pen or rod, and check for stitching inside the absorber. Use a flashlight in dark environments for better visibility (refer to Picture 3).

Upon acknowledgment and RMA request within 3 months of receipt of the safety notice, Honeywell will issue a credit note for affected products returned due to missing stitching.

We assure you that other Honeywell Miller Fall Protection products are safe to use and not impacted by this notice.

Dear Customer,

WARNING! All recipients of this Product Market Action Notice must read, understand and follow all instructions carefully.

While there have been no reported incidents due to this safety issue, Honeywell Personal Protective

Equipment has issued this Product Market Action Notice because the use of the product could result in serious injury or death.
It is not possible to check the physical stitching without tempering the protective case of the shock absorber, hence we advise below non-destructive inspection method to check on the stitches.

The following information provides detailed instructions on immediate actions you are required to take:

  • These products must be immediately separate from work area/ field/ stock
  • These products must be checked before use as per Instruction below.

Inspection instruction:

  1. By using a pen or a small cylindrical rod, insert into the shock absorber protective pack. Please do not use any item that has sharp or pointing edges, to prevent damage to the shock absorber  (Picture 1 and Picture 2)
  2. Create a cavity and remove the pen or cylindrical rod, check if there is presence of stitching inside the absorber (Flashlight would be helpful if the surrounding is dark) (Picture 3)
