Overview

The device consists of several parts:

  • Contoured attachment plate
  • High-deflection AMPS adapter with PPK-1 mounting plate

Total installation time for a shipset (CA and FO) is approximately five (5) minutes. Captain and First Officer devices are mirrored and have the same installation and removal process. Installation does not require tools. Accomplishing the steps detailed in the manual provide any user with required data for successful installation or removal. Aircraft Manufacturing Tolerances

The A320 is produced in two different facilities: Toulouse, France and Mobile, AL, USA. The plate on the window shroud produced in these facilities have been documented as having slightly different dimensions, which may cause the LTRM to fit loosely. The design of the PIVOT LTRM for the A320 family is intended to fit the majority of the aircraft and accommodate variations of window shroud dimensions. In the event the PIVOT LTRM (item numbers PM-A319-20-21-CA and PM-A319-20-21-FO) is observed to be loose after completing the Standard Installation Instructions, refer to Fit Modification Instructions for modifications.

Standard Installation Instructions

These procedures apply to the majority of aircraft and result in a stable, sturdy installation of the LTRM onto the window shroud. If after completing these instructions the LTRM is able to easily slide out from the chart clip, and/or be removed by tugging on the mount portion with light force (similar to that used to adjust the angle of an EFB), please refer to the Fit Modification Instructions on the following pages.

  1. Hold the device in one hand as shown.
  2. With your other hand, lift the chart spring clip on the window shroud.
  3. Slide the device under the raised chart spring clip and place the top edge securely into the window shade slot.
  4. Press down and clip the lower edge of the device onto the window shroud until the unit snaps into place.

Fit Modification Instructions

If after completing the Standard Installation Instructions the LTRM easily slides out from the chart clip or can be easily removed by tugging on the mount portion with light force (similar to that used to adjust the angle of an EFB), use the following instructions.

  1. Remove the LTRM from the aircraft and locate to a suitable work surface that allows manipulation of the device.
  2. On the underside of the LTRM, note the positioning of any Velcro that may already be in place on the LTRM itself. Do not remove this Velcro.
  3. Locate the inboard/seatside channel as indicated by red dashed line in adjacent image. Ensure the channel is free of any contaminant such as grease or debris. Clean with isopropyl alcohol and lint-free cloth and let dry as necessary to prepare surface for next steps.
  4. Obtain a length of ¾” (19mm) Velcro (loop-only) tape with adhesive backing. If not already provided, we recommend the following Velcro Brand Sticky Back Tape: SKU 90086, SKU 90276, SKU 90078
  5. Measure the distance of the inboard channel which is free of any existing Velcro. Trim the new Velcro to fit between the existing Velcro. Do not allow any overlap onto existing material. This distance is approximately 9.75in / 245mm, but may vary.
  6. Peel the adhesive backing from the Velcro loop material and place into the inboard channel, making sure to align within the channel and press firmly into place, ensuring no gaps between the Velcro and the device.
  7. This image indicates the proper placement of the new Velcro portion.
  8. Repeat the Standard Installation Instructions.

Note: If the application of additional Velcro pieces does not correct the LTRM fit, contact PIVOT.

Daily Use Considerations

Scratches and other surface imperfections are typical and do not affect the performance of the device. If a discrepancy is identified, remove the device from service and either repair or replace. If any part is visibly damaged, loose, or missing, remove the device from service and either repair or replace before further use. All surfaces of the device may be wiped with a solvent- free cleaner to remove any accumulated dirt or debris prior to being re- installed.
