  • Operating both the warm white and cool white channels at 100% will double power consumption to 34.4W which limits the total allowable number of interconnected sheets to 2.5 per UL and Class 2 guidelines (96W / 4A at 24VDC). Evo-Lite specified control solutions utilize proportional balancing.

PRE-INSTALLATION ADVISORY & BEST PRACTICES

  • Inspect all light sheets at the time of delivery to ensure no damage has occurred during shipping. Dry fit tests the light sheets for proper illumination before permanently mounting.
  • Test light on the sheets before and after the forward-facing material is installed.
  • Please reference Auragami Gen2 specification sheets for all technical data.
  • Improper care and handling may damage the light sheets. Do not set objects on the light sheet (tools, mugs, etc.).
  • Avoid placing the product in areas where it may be stepped on, crushed, accumulate construction debris, or encounter damage.
  • Forward-facing materials in horizontal applications require complete support across the surface.
  • Light sheets must uniformly support the forward-facing material. Unsupported sections of the forward-facing material may result in damage to the material.
  • Do not install light sheets where subject to flexing. Do not fold a single light sheet back on itself. Adhering two different light sheets back to back is acceptable.
  • Field cutting of the light sheet does not void the UL Listing. Avoid cut edge contact with other conductive materials including other cut light sheet edges. Make precise, clean cuts with a sharp tool.
  • Thanks to the all-new AG2 Quad Bumper design, users can now safely slide heavy forward-facing materials into place. For best results, secure bumpers with mechanical fasteners before sliding heavy materials into place.

PLAN LAYOUT & DRY FIT
A well-planned layout will likely save you time and materials. Dry fit the light sheets (F1) and connection wires (F2) before permanently mounting them to the installation surface. This important step will help you identify where layout adjustments, light sheet cuts, folds, and power connections will need to be made. Mark the cuts, folds, and sheet connections as desired.

CUTTING THE LIGHT SHEET

AURAGAMI-AG2-24-RGBW-GEN2-Flexible-Light-Sheet-FIG-
\(4\)

Disconnect power at the source before making adjustments. cuts. on other modifications to the light sheets or lighting system. Cuts can be made using shears, scissors, a utility knife, or a precision craft knife. Score and make multiple light passes to create a clean cut when using a knife. Cut within the double-cut line path (F3) using a sharp tool to create a clean, precise cut (F4). Do not stray from this path or make rough, jagged cuts. If a cut edge has the possibility of making contact with a conductive surface or another light sheet’s cut edge, cover the cut edge with RTV sealant (Item #: ASI -388CL-EVO, sold separately) or other conformal coating (F5). Failure to do so may result in short-circuiting issues.

Diagonal Cutting Advisory
Avoid using independent, diagonally cut strips (F6). Include at least two contiguous diagonal rows of LEDs when cutting the sheet diagonally (F7). If a single strip of LEDs is required, plan to cut vertically or horizontally. Removing a diagonal strip from a light sheet will not affect the function of the rest of the light sheet (F8).

FOLDING THE LIGHT SHEET
It is best to fold the light sheet along its cut lines (F9). Do not fold the product where any rigid structures (LEDs, resistors, connection blocks) are present. Doing so may cause damage to these components. Bend the light sheet where needed, making a crease (F10). Relax the fold to the desired angle. Do not repeatedly fold and unfold along the same line as this can weaken the flexible PCB. Do not fold a light sheet back on itself as this bending radius may damage the circuitry. Instead, two separate light sheets.

REMOVE UNUSED CONNECTION BLOCKS
Connection blocks may be removed if they happen to fall on a cut or fold line. Before removing connection blocks, double-check your dry fit layout to ensure the blocks are not required for sheet-to-sheet or sheet-to-power connections. Use extreme caution when removing sheet connection blocks to not damage adjacent components. lo remove a connection block, use a pair of diers to grasp the block and rotate it back and Torn (r11), clockwise and counterclockwise, unal it unseats trom the solder (F12). Clear any remaining terminal block pieces from the removal area.

USING AURAGAMI ACCESSORIES

AURAGAMI-AG2-24-RGBW-GEN2-Flexible-Light-Sheet-FIG-
\(6\)

Each light sheet includes short sheet-to-sheet connectors (x2) and long sheet- to-sheet connectors (x2). We recommend using two connectors when joining light sheets. Join adjacent sheets with short connectors (F13). Use long connectors to join offset sheets or span gaps (F14). To install sheet connectors, remove the sheet terminal cover, match the connector arrow with the sheet terminal arrow (F15), and press the connector into place. Do not block LEDs. To remove connectors, pull up the connector wings or wires near the connector ends. Use 4 quad bumpers (sold separately) per square foot or 8 per light sheet to support forward-facing materials in both horizontal and vertical applications (F16). Secure bumpers by inserting a bugle head style screw (#8 / M4) through the centre and into the light sheet’s marked mounting holes (F17). Attach cap.

POWERING THE LIGHT SHEET SYSTEM
Purchase the Power Input Kit, sold separately, to power up to 5 full Auragami Light Sheets. To retain Class 2 compliance per Ul regulations, do not interconnect more! then 5 full light sheets (86 watts total) in any configuration. To avoid visible brightness variances due to voltage drop, the total distance from the power source input to the farthest end of any interconnected sheet should not exceed 6.5 feet (1981mm). If this distance exceeds 6.5 feet (1981mm), splice an additional high-count multi-strand lead wire (that is the appropriate gauge for the load and distance) to the power input wire and connect this lead to a centrally located sheet within the interconnected sheets. Refer to #3. Power, Control, & Wiring on the last page for more info.

Using the Power Input Kit (sold separately)
The Power Input Kit contains a 48” (1220mm) power input cord, WAGO splicing connectors, and cable management clips. To power one’s light sheets, simply press the Power Input Cord’s quick connector end into the light sheet terminal block. Then use the included WAGO splicing connectors to make a connection between the cord’s bare wire ends and compatible power source, control component, or additional lead wire (F18-20). Use cable management clips to prevent wires from covering any LEDs. Secure wire clips using both the adhesive backing and a mechanical fastener. Insert a bugle head style fastener through the clip’s centre hole and into the light sheet’s marked mounting holes (Fig 21). Alternatively, these clips can be secured to the mounting substrate, of the light sheets. Route cable once the clip is secured.

Tunable white and RGBW light sheets have orientation arrows (F22) printed on them. Install light sheets with the orientation arrows pointing in the same direction across contiguous surfaces to avoid undesired colour shifts. After dry fit testing, thoroughly clean the mounting surface to remove any dust or debris. Mount light sheets to the application surface using the adhesive backing and mechanical fasteners. The adhesive backing is designed to help assist with mounting, but we recommend that it not be used alone.

AURAGAMI-AG2-24-RGBW-GEN2-Flexible-Light-Sheet-FIG-
\(14\)

To use the adhesive backing, first peel back an edge of the backing film. Stick this edge to the mounting surface (F23). Peel the backing film away while applying the sheet to the mounting surface with firm, consistent pressure. Use the Auragami installation roller, sold separately, to assist with mounting (F24). Insert fasteners through Quad Bumpers and/or directly into the marked mounting holes at several points across the light sheet (F25). The inside circle is pre-cut for
ease of use. Do not insert fasteners through any other part of the product. Do not use tapered or self-tapping screws when directly fastening the light sheet (F26). Do not damage the light sheet surface by over-tightening the fastener.

PRODUCT HANDLING, INSTALLATION, & INTEGRATION ADVISORY
We have listed the following information based on our extensive experience developing this product and lighting thousands of incredible projects. These details include safety precautions and situational advisories that will help provide a smooth installation experience. Visit evo-lite.com for the most up- to-date product specifications.

  1. DO NOT CONNECT TO AC POWER ANY DIRECT CONNECTION OF AURAGAMI LIGHT SHEETS TO AC CURRENT WILL DAMAGE THE LEDS AND VOID THE WARRANTY. Be sure to use a UL Listed or UL Recognized Class 2, LPS or LVLE low voltage power supply that conforms to the voltage requirements of the product. This information may be found on the Auragami Light Sheet and its packaging, as well as the power supply labelling.

  2. PRODUCT INSPECTION & TESTING
Our production, packaging, and shipping processes are accompanied by a rigorous quality control procedure. All Auragami Light Sheets are subjected to a burn-in period and tested before packaging to ensure operation of the highest quality. Due to potential unforeseen issues with shipping and handling, we advise that all products be inspected at the time of delivery and dry-fit tested for proper illumination before mounting. Test the light of the products again before, during, and after the forward-facing material is installed.

  3. POWER, CONTROL, & WIRING
For optimal power distribution and to minimize voltage drop, only use multi- strand, high-strand count wiring for all low-voltage DC connections. Wire gauge should be appropriate based upon system voltage and wire length to further minimize voltage drop. For voltage drop information and guidance visit us at www.evo-lite.com/library#general. Solid core wire is not recommended for low-voltage power connections. Power supplies, drivers, and controls should be installed in well-ventilated enclosures and/or per manufacturers’ recommendations. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all components and installation practices meet or exceed local codes and requirements.

  4. FRAGILE CONNECTION BLOCKS
The product’s integrated connection blocks are made of plastic which can be damaged if made to bear weight. Always use protective bumpers to bear the weight of any forward-facing material in horizontal applications and to act as a safeguard to protect the light sheet in vertical applications. We recommend using 4 Quad-Bumpers (sold separately) per square foot, or 8 per full Auragami Gen2 Light Sheet. Do not substitute Auragami bumpers for other after-market options. Set an acrylic sheet on the bumpers to add height if more spatial diffusion is necessary or ask your Evo-Lite System Integration Specialist for other suggestions.

  5. INSTALLATION TEMPERATURE
Due to the characteristics of the 3M adhesive backing, installation environments and locations should be taken into consideration. Colder temperatures may cause longer cure times for permanent adhesion.

  6. FOLDING & MINIMUM RADIUS
There is no minimum bending radius for Auragami Light Sheets. Do not fold a single sheet back on itself, which may disrupt the flow of electricity. Two separate light sheets may be attached back-to-back as the 3M adhesive will act as a non-conductive barrier. We do not recommend this product for applications with a radius of less than 2° (51mm).

  7. STORAGE
Store Auragami Light Sheets in a clean, dry area on a flat, horizontal surface. Do not open the anti-static envelope until ready to install. Ideal storage conditions: 68° – 77° F (20° – 25° C). 50% humidity. Do not allow dust or debris to settle on the opened light sheet, as this may affect the colour temperature and quality of light diffusion.

  8. SOLDERING
Auragami sheets have been engineered with + and – solder pads near every LED or LED group. Create a solder connection when sheet connection block terminals are absent or inaccessible. Solder pads are engineered with a 4A at 24VDC rating. To create a custom soldered connection, first locate the marked conductive pads. With care, lightly scratch away the conformal coating and the white top layer of the light sheet until the conductive solder pad is revealed. Complete the soldering process using lead-free, flux-core solder.

  9. FASTENER / SCREW RECOMMENDATIONS
Use bugle head screws with Quad Bumpers and Wire Management Clips. Use flat head screws when inserting directly through the light sheet.

  10. WET LOCATION USE
Unaltered Auragami Gen2 Light Sheets are IP67 rated per the standardized International Protection Code testing and rating system. It is essential to understand that this testing is performed in a controlled environment and does not necessarily reflect real-world conditions or scenarios over extended periods of use. As defined, an IP67 rating offers protection against dust ingress and 30 minutes of immersion in 1 meter or less of water. We designed the IP67 rating of Auragami Gen2 Light Sheets to function as an enhanced protective feature. As with most lighting systems and products, Auragami is not recommended for applications where the light sheet or associated components may be directly subject to frequent exposure to liquids or moisture. Failure to follow this recommendation may void the warranty. Olosco contact vour Gun lito Suctom Intooratimn Gnorialict fre additional rocouros and information on this cubit
