OXIPRO BP1 Blood Pressure Monitor User Guide

FIRST TIME SETUP

a. Turn blood pressure monitor over, remove battery cover and install batteries

b Connect arm cuff

TAKING A READING

a.Remove thick clothing from around the upper arm. If rolling up, make sure it doesn’t become tight around your arm.

b. For the most accurate results:

  1. relax, sitting down for 4-5 minutes before a reading.
  2. test at the same time each day.
  3. don’t perform several tests in a row

C. Insert arm in cuff and position as shown. Close velcro so the cuff is snug but not tight.

d. Press START on blood pressure monitor and don’t move or talk while it performs reading.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR RESULTS

Your reading consists of two numbers: your Systolic Blood Pressure (SYS) and Diastolic Blood Pressure (DIA). Readings are expressed with SYS over DIA. In the example below, your reading would be 118/70 (118 over 70).

Find the point on the chart where your SYS and DIA readings intersect to see your indicted blood pressure range. This chart is suitable for adults of all ages

Issue Cause Solution
A reading outside your expected range Cuff may be incorrectly fitted Refit

the cuff according to the instructions
Talking or moving during the measurement| Relax, stay still and don’t talk during measurement
Clothing could be interfering with blood flow to the arm| Clear the arm of clothing and try again
The cuff does not Inflate| The cuff is not connected to the machine or It is not securely connected.| Check the cuff Is correctly attached to the machine, refit the cuff to the machine and your arm according to the instructions and try again
Cuff deflates too quickly| The cuff is too lose
Powers down duringmeasurement| The batteries may be low| Install new batteries
Does not power up afterpressing Start/Stop| Batteries may be exhausted| Install new batteries
Batteries may be inserted the wrong way| Reinstall the batteries the right way round
