GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS

WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

SAVE ALL WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS
FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

  1. This device contains a factory-installed coin cell battery. It cannot be removed or replaced.
  2. Chemical burn hazard. Keep out of reach of children.
  3. Do not use in extreme hot or cold conditions. Keep between -30 °F (-34 °C) and 140 °F (60 °C).
  4. Choking hazard. Keep out of reach of children.
  5. This device contains a lithium button/coin cell battery. Do not force open the device as the battery can cause severe internal burns and lead to death in as little as 2 hours if swallowed or enters the body. If the device is damaged in any way, stop using the device and keep it away from children. If you think batteries may have been swallowed or entered the body, seek immediatemedical attention.
  6. If coin cell battery contents come into contact with the skin, immediately wash area with mild soap and water. If coin cell battery liquid gets into the eye, rinse water over the open eye for 15 minutes or until irritation ceases. If medical attention is needed, the battery electrolyte is composed of an organic solvent and lithium salts.
  7. Do not incinerate or dismantle this device.
  8. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the device. Avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
  9. DO NOT dispose of device together with household waste material! Appliance that has reached the end of its life must be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.

Pairing and Activating the DeWALT Tag (Fig. A)
Download the DeWALT Tool Connect™ Site Manager and Control applications at:DEWALT DCE045 Tool Connect Tag - appFollow the instructions in the DeWALT Tool Connect™ Site Manager and Control apps to create your account and then to pair your Tag. Once the Tag has been connected, you can confirm that you would like to register the product.

Installing the DeWALT Tool Connect™ Tag

WARNING: Do not apply the Tag to product where it will become wet or exposed to flammable liquids or gases.
WARNING: Do not secure in such a way as to impede or compromise the safe use of the Tag or the product to which the Tag is attached. Do not mount near rotating parts, heat producing surfaces, or where it will interfere with the operation of guards.
WARNING: Do not overtighten screws, rivets or other fasteners as this may damage the Tag.
WARNING: Do not pierce the Tag with screw, nail, drill bit, etc.
WARNING: When drilling holes for mounting, do not drill or use fasteners where hidden wiring, hoses, pipes, etc. can be pierced or damaged. Do not mount with screws or rivets to power tools, electrical devices, or battery packs unless they are specifically designed to accommodate the DeWALT Tag.
The DeWALT Tool Connect™ Tag is designed to track tools and equipment using the DeWALT Tool Connect™ Site Manager and Control apps. It will not prevent theft from happening. The Tag can be installed in a variety of orientations. Consider installing the Tag to prevent tampering.
The Tag can be installed using the following attachment options:

  • 6 Pan head screw through one or both of the mounting holes 2 .

  • Glue or epoxy to back of Tag. Be sure glue or epoxy is compatible with mounting surface.
  • 5/32 diameter rivet through one or both of the mounting holes 2 .
  • Adhesive backing.
  • Cable or zip tie through one or both of the mounting holes 2 .

NOTE: Flat head screws are not recommended as they may damage the mounting hole 2 .

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning the Tag. These chemicals may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only with water and mild soap. NEVER IMMERSE INTO A LIQUID.
Repairs
The Tag is not serviceable.
WARNING: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and adjustment (including brush inspection and replacement, when applicable) should be performed by a DeWALT factory service center or a DeWALT authorized service center. Always use identical replacement parts.
Removal
It is not necessary to remove a non-functioning Tag.
WARNING: When removing an epoxied or glued Tag, use appropriate personal protective equipment. Removal should not in any way compromise the item to which the Tag is attached.
