SM01BK Fire Extinguisher Seat Mount

Thank you for your purchase! This versatile mount provides a secure platform to install a fire extinguisher in a vehicle while avoiding the need to drill mounting holes. It can attach to existing seat mounting holes from between 8 7/8” to 19 1/4” apart, and it is designed to work with a wide variety of automobiles. Seat Mount Instructions

1. Find a mounting location within the vehicle. This can vary. Possible options are the seat rail and seat slider. Choose the Mounting Tab size (SM#4 or SM#5) that works best for your installation.

2. Loosely assemble the Mounting Tabs (SM#4 or SM#5) with the Extension Arms (SM#3) using two (2) Large Cap Screws (SM#6), four (4) Washers (SM#7) and two (2) Lock Nuts (SM#8).

3. Insert the Support Bar Adjuster (SM#2) into the Main Support Bar (SM#1). Note: This assembly will be referred to as the “Mounting Platform” for the rest of this manual.

4. Attach an H3R Performance bracket to the Mounting Platform using the following instructions specific to each bracket type.
   a. Standard bracket pg. 4
   b. Extreme Duty pg. 5
   c. ProLock pg. 6

5. Remove the vehicle attachment points (e.g. seat rail bolts), install the Mounting Tab/Extension Arm assemblies over or under the seat rails and secure loosely.

6. Adjust the length of the Mounting Platform so that it fits between the two (2) Extension Arms (SM#3). Tighten the Backing Plate (SM#11) on the back of the Mounting Platform to set it at the required length.

7. Check that the mounting location will not hinder access to the fire extinguisher.

8. Attach the Mounting Platform to the Extension Arms (SM#3) using two (2) Large Cap Screws (SM#6), four (4) Washers (SM#7) and two (2) Lock Nuts (SM#8).

9. Tighten all of the fasteners and torque the vehicle attachment points to the manufacturer’s specifications.

WARNING: Lock nuts are prone to galling/seizing. When test fitting, apply lubricant to the screw threads and slowly rotate the lock nuts to avoid galling/seizing.
Do not over tighten nylon lock nuts.

This warranty does not cover defects resulting from modification, alteration, misuse, exposure to corrosive conditions or improper installation or maintenance. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR PURPOSE AND MERCHANTABILITY, ARE LIMITED TO THE TIME PERIODS STATED ABOVE. IN NO EVENT SHALL H3R BE LIABLE TO INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. H3R neither assumes nor authorizes any representative or other person to assume for it, any obligation or liability other than as expressly set forth herein. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. Standard Bracket Instructions

Underside of Mounting Platform with the standard bracket installed.
Hardware required (from the Seat Mount bag):
Three (3) Button Head Screws (SM#9) (Requires 3MM Allen key)
Two (2) Backing Plates (SM#11)

1. Remove the bracket from the fire extinguisher.
2. Place it on the Mounting Platform with the forked end positioned by the Support Bar Adjuster (SM#2).
3. Insert one (1) Button Head Screw (SM#9) through the center hole nearest the forked end of the bracket.
4. Thread the Button Head Screw (SM#9) into the Backing Plate (SM#11) and loosely tighten so that it is still possible to adjust the length of the Mounting Platform.
5. Ensure that the bottom two holes on the bracket align with their respective Mounting Platform holes, and insert two (2) Button Head Screws (SM#9) threading them into the last Backing Plate (SM#11). Tighten snug, do not over tighten.

Extreme Duty Bracket Instructions

Hardware required (from the Seat Mount bag):
Four (4) Button Head Screws (SM#9) (Requires 3MM Allen key)
Two (2) Backing Plates (SM#11)

1. Place the Extreme Duty part NMF (#1 in Extreme Duty manual) on the Mounting Platform.
2. Loosely attach it to the Mounting Platform with Button Head Screws (SM#9) and Backing Plates (SM#11) at each end of the mount.

ProLock Instructions

Underside of Mounting Platform with ProLock bracket installed.
Keep hardware from different bags separated
ProLock bag:
Two (2) M5 Bolts (PL#6) (Requires 3MM Allen Key)
Two (2) M5 Nylon Lock Nuts (PL#7) (Requires 5/16” socket/wrench)
Two (2) M5 Washers (PL#8)
Seat Mount bag:
Two (2) Button Head Screws (SM#9) (Requires 3MM Allen Key)
Two (2) Flush Mount Screws (SM#10) (Requires 3MM Allen Key)
Two (2) Backing Plates (SM#11)

1. Insert the two (2) Button Head Screws (SM#9) in the holes that attach the Main Support Bar (SM#1) to the Support Bar Adjuster (SM#2).
2. Place one (1) Backing Plate (SM#11) under the Mounting Platform, threading the two (2) Button Head Screws (SM#9) into the Backing Plate (SM#11). Keep them loose enough for adjustment.
3. Place the ProLock Bracket Base (PL#1) on the Mounting Platform so that all four holes line up (see above image).
4. Insert two (2) M5 Bolts (PL#6) through the circular holes, not the oval holes. Followed by two (2) M5 Washers (PL#8) and two (2) M5 Nylon Lock Nuts (PL#7). Snug these down, do not over tighten.
5. Insert two (2) Flush Mount Screws (SM#10) and thread them into the last Backing Plate (SM#11) on the bottom side of the Mounting Platform. Tighten all of the fasteners, do not over tighten.
