The Backermatic BMST Thermostat is a second-generation safety thermostat
designed for retrofitting to existing installations or incorporating into the
Immersion range (Backer type VC) to meet new standards. It features a
secondary safety cut-out independent of the main thermostat with a non-self-
resetting second set of contacts limiting water temperature to 98 degrees
centigrade in case of primary thermostat failure.

Second Generation Safety Thermostat
- The BAckermatic BMST Thermostat is an ideal solution for retrofit to existing installations as it is possible to bring your old system up to the new standard by simply changing the thermostat. Alternatively, it can be incorporated into any of our Immersion ranges (Backer type VC) to enable the Immersion heaters to meet the new standard.
- Our new range of BMST thermostats incorporates a secondary safety cut-out, which is independent of the main thermostat. The new thermostats have a second set of contacts that open and limit the water temperature to 98 degrees centigrade should the primary thermostat fail. The second cut-out is non-self resetting.
