Specifications
- Height: 31cm (12.25 inches)
- Estimated Assembly Time: 150 – 180 minutes
Product Information
The PRISMICTM Dog kit allows you to create a 31cm tall dog shape by folding and interlocking the included panels and inserting the USB-Powered LED string light inside the shape to illuminate it. The kit includes PRISMICTM panels, locking pins, LED light strings, and a mirrored base for added aesthetics.
Usage Instructions
Fold Lines:
Each panel features creased lines indicating fold lines. Red lines should
be folded towards you, while blue lines should be folded away from you. Most
folds require a 15-45 degree bend.
Edges & Tabs:
The edges and tabs of the panels are essential for locking the panels
together to form the shape. Flat edges are the panel edges that do not
resemble tabs, while tabs protrude out of the main panel. Tabs always go on
the inside of the shape.
Connecting Holes:
Black circles on the panels represent connecting holes where you insert
locking pins to connect flat edges to tabs. Apply pressure to push the pin
through one layer at a time, starting with the flat edge and then the
corresponding tab. If you encounter difficulty inserting a pin, focus on the
surrounding connections as they will hold the structure in place.
FAQ
Q: What should I do if I can’t distinguish between flat edges and tabs?
A: If you find it challenging to differentiate between flat edges and tabs,
refer to the instructions for guidance. Additionally, tabs always belong on
the inside of the PRISMICTM shape.
Q: How do I ensure a secure connection between panels?
A: When joining panels, make sure to push the locking pins through one
layer at a time, starting with the flat edge and then moving to the
corresponding tab. If you encounter difficulty with one pin, focus on securing
the surrounding connections as they will help hold the structure together.

INTRODUCTION
Fold Lines
With this kit, you will create a 31cm (12.25″) tall PRISMICTM Dog. This
project could take 150 – 180 minutes to complete.

READ ME FIRST!
PRISMICTM shapes are created by folding and interlocking the included panels
and inserting the USB-Powered LED string light inside the shape to light it
up.
Before you start assembling panels, take some time to read these instructions
and familiarize yourself with the various parts of the panels and the kit.
This will make your PRISMICTM building much easier and much more fun.
On the surface of each panel, you’ll see creased lines creating shapes. These
are the fold lines, along which you’ll fold or bend the panel.
The red lines are meant to be folded towards you as you look at the panel.
The blue lines are meant to be folded away from you as you look at the panel.
As for how far you bend each piece, they vary; Most require around a 15-45
degree fold.
Edges & Tabs
The edges and tabs of a panel are how the panels lock onto each other to
create the shape.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
This PRISMICTM kit contains: PRISMICTM Panels Locking Pins LED light strings
Mirrored Base
The Flat Edges are the edges of the panel that do not look like a tab (identified in the sample image with an A).
Panels
Each panel comes flat inside this package. Each panel has:
Flat Edges Tabs Connecting Holes Fold Marks An Inside and an Outside
More on what this means below: The panel images on these instructions are
shown outside side up.
Some panels may look very much alike, but they are not. Be extremely careful
to match up the panels to the instructions. A misplaced panel or connection
will disrupt your entire PRISMICTM build, and you’ll have to backtrack.
VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS: WWW.PLBFUN.COM/PRISMIC
The Tabs are the edges that protrude out of the main panel and look like a
little tab (Identified in the sample image with a B). TABS ALWAYS GO ON THE
INSIDE!
Tabs don’t all look the same but are easy to distinguish from Flat Edges. If
they are hard to distinguish, there will be a note on the instructions as to
which is which.

TIP: A Tab will always look out of place on the outside of the PRISMICTM shape. Each Flat Edge has a matching Tab to connect to (sometimes on the same panel, but most often on other panels).
Connecting Holes
The black circles on the sample panel image are holes where you insert the
connecting pins to connect Flat Edges to Tabs.
provide support from the backside of the hole you’re pushing the pin through.
They require a little pressure to push through the holes. It’s easier to push
through one layer at a time. Push through the Flat Edge first, then the
corresponding Tab. It is possible to go through both at the same time, but it
does require more pushing force and doesn’t really save time.
As you join the panels together, if you can’t get one pin in, don’t worry, it
won’t affect the final result. The surrounding ones will hold it in place.
Just place the pin through the flat edge, and don’t worry about getting it
through the tabbed edge underneath.
LED String
PRISMICTM shapes are lit up from the inside with USBPowered LED Lights (USB
Charger not included).
These strings are placed evenly inside the PRISMICTM shape during the final
steps of the assembly and are locked in place when the final panel is
attached.
They have a 1m (39″) lead with a standard USB plug at the end. They can be
plugged into an existing USB power port.
The instruction diagrams (whether it’s an overall diagram, or a smaller
section-specific diagram) will have lines between holes on the Flat Edges and
their corresponding match on a Tab.
The connecting holes will have little plugs in them. They can be pushed out
using the locking pins, or the tip of a pencil to get them out of the way.
Not every hole pairing will be indicated in these instructions, but once you
start with the matched ones, the remainder are easy to figure out.
TIP: The holes are accurately placed. If a pairing looks like it matches up,
but it isn’t perfectly aligned, it’s not meant to connect, as tempted as you
may be. They probably connect to another panel in a step further down the
instructions.
Locking Pins
The included plastic locking pins are how folded panels are connected to
themselves and other panels, forming the PRISMICTM shape. Locking pins have a
larger round end, and a pointy one.
Tips on How to Fold / Bend the Panels
The diagrams are looking down on the panel with the Outside up and the Inside
down.
As you fold the panels, regularly check against the panel layout on the
instructions to make sure you have the Outside of the panel always facing you.
Following the diagram at each step, you can start folding or bending along the
marked crease lines.
Locking pins are always inserted from the Outside of a panel towards the
Inside, going through the hole in the Flat Edge first (A), then the
corresponding hole in the matching Tab (B). Use one hand to push the pin in,
and the other to

To fold each crease, secure one side of the crease between one thumb and index finger and use your other hand to fold the other side of the crease in the direction indicated.
Make sure that each panel matches the location
3 and shape exactly. Some panels look alike, even when flipped over. To make
sure your project goes smoothly, match them exactly as laid out on this
diagram.
The panels have protective film on both sides of
4 the panels. You can remove it all now, making sure you place the panels back
in the correct position before continuing. Alternatively, you can remove the
protective film at each step.
Before you start folding and bending the panels remove the protective film
from both sides of the panel.
The smaller creases will fold with one motion, whereas the longer ones may
need you to crease a couple of times along its length until the panel starts
to fold.
Make sure that the fold is consistent along the length of the crease, so the
edge is nice and even.

Take the panels and lay them out according to the diagram below. This will
make it much easier to follow the steps for the instructions. This diagram
will be shown in each step of the instructions and used to show you your
progress and more easily identify the panels needed. You can remove the
protective film from both sides of each panel now, or do them at each step as
you go.
5 Doublecheckthatyouhavethepanelsinthecorrect position before starting off, and if they are, it’s time to get started with the assembly process!
REMEMBER THE BASICS:
Start folding at one end of the panel and work your way to the other side. When you reach the end of the panel, make any indicated connections with the Locking Pins.
GETTING STARTED
A PRISMICTM build can take some time and needs a clean and flat surface where
you can lay out the panels and have enough room to work. A desk or large table
is ideal.
1 Start off by taking the Panels, Locking Pins and LED Light Strings out of
the package. Set the LED lights aside. You won’t need them for a while.
Remove protective film from both sides of the panel before folding. Outside of the panel is facing you, the inside faces down as laid out in Step 1. RED LINE = fold UP towards you BLUE LINE = fold DOWN away from you Flat Edges on OUTSIDE of Tabs, and tuck tabs onto the INSIDE of your PRISMICTM. Push locking pins INWARDS (pointy end goes in). If you need help, ask an adult to help out.
2 Find a safe place on your workspace to place the locking pins. You’ll need
these on each step, so it’s a good idea to keep them within easy reach.
VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS: WWW.PLBFUN.COM/PRISMIC
For each step, there is a main layout of all the panels indicating which to
use for the step.
There is also a larger version of that same panel showing the fold lines and
which Edges connect to which Tabs (if any on that panel), along with any
additional notes for that step.
