INTRODUCTION

CONGRATULATIONS
With your new steam cooker with steaming baskets made of stainless steel, you can prepare delicious meals in no time at all. The steamer is easy to use and easy to clean thanks to its material composition. For an easy start, you will find recipe ideas and useful tips on our website www.kemar.shop.Preparing food in a steamer with stainless steel steamer baskets is based on a different principle than conventional steamers with plastic steamer baskets. The steaming baskets and the water tank are made of SUS304 stainless steel with no coating and of course no plasticizers. Stainless steel is recyclable and can be 100% reused. Our steaming baskets made of stainless steel are very heat- resistant, easy to clean and durable. The glass lid and the steaming baskets are dishwasher safe. The stainless steel does not release any harmful substances into the food and is tasteless. The SUS304 stainless steel has no coating and is therefore free of BPA and PTFE. The nickel content is approx. 8%. Stainless steel is easy to recycle and is therefore more ecologically sustainable than many other materials. Due to the lack of a coating, deposits of lime or steam residues can occur on the bottom of the pot. This deposit can be easily removed after the food has been removed by soaking it in water and then rinsing it. Due to the special steam tube system in the middle of the steamer inserts, there is hardly any steam outside the glass lid, as the condensed steam condenses on the glass lid and drips off. The KFS-3000 can be used without the steamer inserts but with the glass lid like a saucepan on the stove. The KFS-3000 can be converted into a Hot Pot / Fondue. A ceramic pot and a large steamer attachment for whole fish or, for example, asparagus are optionally available. Thus, the KFS-3000 is a practical kitchen or camping device, since you can prepare steaming, cooking, soups, stews and fondues with just one device. The wattage and the time can be set manually via the menu. Please read all safety instructions, warnings and instructions in this manual carefully before you begin and use the item only as described in this manual to avoid accidental injury or damage. Keep the instructions for further use. If the item is passed on, these instructions must also be included.

IN A FEW STEPS TO PERFECT PREPARATION

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE USE

  • Make sure to use this product in a flat and safe place.

  • When placing the ceramic pot or the various steamer baskets on the base, make sure the containers are properly stacked on top of each other and do not wobble.

  • Make sure to keep the minimum level of 600 ml to a maximum of 2000 ml in the base. Too little liquid can damage the device and too much liquid can cause it to boil over.

  • It is dangerous to open the jar lid while cooking, so please open it carefully. If you really want to check the cooking progress, the glass lid is very hot and there is a chance that hot steam will come out when you open the lid. So be careful not to put your face or hands near the escaping steam.
Beware of burns! Please note that we are not responsible for burns caused by opening the lid while cooking.

  • During use, the area around the steam hole in the lid may become hot, so do not touch or look at it. There is a risk of burns!

  • Please note that the entire steamer, the steaming baskets, the glass lid and the base water basin become hot immediately after use.

STEAMING TIPS AND TECHNIQUES

  • Do not press the food too hard into the steamer inserts. Leave some space so that the steam can circulate as well as possible.
  • For best results, use food of approximately the same size, e.g. B. Potatoes, vegetables and chicken breast, so that everything is cooked at the same time. The size and thickness of the food affect the cooking time.
  • Do not lift the lid too often to check the cooking progress as this may result in steam loss and prolong the cooking time.
  • When selecting foods to steam, select foods that are the right size for the steamer, especially if they are being cooked whole, e.g. B. Fish. If necessary, use the optionally available XXL steaming basket.
  • Steamed dishes can be subtly seasoned with fresh herbs, lemon or orange slices, garlic and onions. These can be placed either directly below or on top of the food in the steamer.
  • To add extra flavor and to make meat, poultry and fish juicy and tender, marinate them before steaming. The marinade can be as simple as a mixture of wine and fresh herbs, or a flavorful barbecue or tandoori mix.
  • Frozen vegetables can be steamed without thawing first. All seafood, poultry and meat must be completely thawed before steaming.
  • For some recipes with a long cooking time of more than 45 minutes, you need to fill cold water up to the MAX line (2 liters). The maximum water level lasts about 90 minutes.
  • If you only use one or two of the steamer baskets, some water may leak out of the sides. If you notice this, turn down the wattage manually via the display.

COOKING FUNCTION
With the KFS-3000 you can also cook potatoes or pasta in the base pot and with the glass lid. The cooking process should always be supervised, as pasta and potatoes tend to foam over. Always use the minimum filling level of 600 ml and do not exceed the maximum filling level of 2 liters with ingredients. Select the COOKING menu on the touch display. The preset time is 80 minutes. Use the + or – buttons to select the required cooking time.
After selecting the time, the display flashes four times and the program starts automatically. The keep-warm program starts automatically for a maximum of 4 hours after the end of the regular cooking time. You can stop it at any time by pressing the ON/OFF button. See the table on page 21 for more information.

FUNCTION STEAM POT

Select the STEAM POT program via the touch display. The default time is 2 hours. To adjust, press the + or – button. The display flashes four times until the program starts automatically. The water in the base station is used at 1,200 watts until it boils. Then it switches to 600 watts for 10 minutes. Then on 300 watts until the end of the cooking program. The keep-warm function starts automatically after completion for a maximum of 4 hours. You can end the keep warm function at any time by pressing the ON/OFF button. If you use the ceramic pot for a soup or stew, you can use up to three steaming baskets at the same time. To do this, place the supplied plastic ring on the edge of the ceramic pot and only then place the up to three steaming baskets on top. Finally, put the glass lid on the last steamer basket.

FUNCTION HOT POT | FONDUE
You can use the HOT POT program (Asian for fondue) to prepare the Asian fondue variant. You fill the fondue or the broth directly into the base pot up to the maximum capacity including the ingredients. Select the HOT POT program on the touch menu. The pre-programmed time is 2 hours. At the start, the display flashes four times and the program starts the cooking process at 1,200 watts until the water boils. After that, it automatically switches to 300 watts for the remaining time. You can manually adjust the time The hot pot is a social meal in Asia and has a centuries-old tradition there. The broth stays hot all the time and various ingredients can be cooked one after the other in the hot broth. Raw appetizers such as meat, vegetables and noodles are dipped in a spicy broth – the pot is ready to hand on the table. Especially in China, the hot pot is known under the name Huo Guo. In Germany, too, the Asian fondue variety has blossomed from being an insider tip to becoming a hot trend. Today, the fondue variant is represented in different variations throughout East Asia – in addition to China also in Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Thailand and Japan. Originally intended as a practical and quick dish, the hot pot is now used for special occasions and social evenings, similar to the European fondue variants. Traditionally, the hot pot is served in a copper pot on hot coals. Today, for convenience, the hot pot is usually served in metal pots over electric hot plates or a gas burner. We have developed the KFS-3000 so that you too can enjoy a hot pot. Below is a classic recipe for a typical Asian hot pot.

The broth can basically be made from beef, chicken or vegetable broth. You can get the original ingredients in the supermarket or in an Asian shop.

CARE AND CLEANING

STORAGE

Gather the power cord without knotting or kinking it Make sure the steamer and accessories are completely dry to avoid mold growth. If there is still residual moisture in the steam cooker, damage may occur. You can stack the three steamer inserts on top of each other. Store the steamer so that it cannot fall into a sink. Keep the steamer out of the reach of children. Store the steamer in a clean, dry place protected from sun and dust. Do not place heavy or hard objects on the steamer.

CLEANING | DESCALING
Disconnect the plug from the mains. Before you clean the device, it should have cooled down sufficiently after use. Do not pour out the liquid until it has cooled sufficiently to avoid scalding. Never immerse the cooking base in water as this will damage it.
Clean the parts with a mild detergent and a little warm water. Before you use the parts again, please dry them sufficiently. Do not use any scouring pads or cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the device. Clean the surface of the stove base with a soft cloth or sponge, a little warm water and a mild dish detergent. Do not immerse the stove base in water.

  1. Before cleaning, unplug the power cord.
  2. Remove the steamer’s glass lid.
  3. Wipe the surfaces and inner walls of the steamer with a slightly damp cloth.
  4. Thoroughly clean the glass lid.
  5. Clean the steam baskets with a soft cloth and mild detergent. The steamer baskets are dishwasher safe. The ceramic pot is suitable for the dishwasher.
  6. The cooking base is made of stainless steel. Hard water can cause a light layer on the bottom. Soak the pot in lukewarm water and a little washing-up liquid, then use a sponge to loosen this layer. Descale the device regularly with commercially available citric acid as soon as a layer forms on the bottom of the base. If the limescale layer becomes too thick, it can damage the device.
  7. Then dry all parts with a clean cloth.
