HELMET MANUAL
This helmet is designed for pedal cycles, skateboards, and roller skates and
is not intended for motor vehicles or other sports.
WARNING:
This helmet should not be used by children in any activity, including
climbing, where there is a risk of strangulation or hanging if the child gets
trapped with the helmet. The helmet must be fitted and attached properly to
the user’s head by the manufacturer’s fit instructions. It will only be
protective when it is the correct size and properly adjusted. It is
recommended to try different sizes to ensure the best fit.
No helmet can prevent all injuries. Even low-speed accidents can cause serious injuries or death. Please ride with care and caution and comply with all traffic regulations. Once a helmet has received an impact, it may no longer be adequate to protect the head against further impacts and should be discarded and replaced even if damage is not visible. FEND generally recommends replacing a helmet every three years.
HOW TO USE HELMET
- Unfolding the Helmet: Rotate both sides of the helmet outwards until you hear a “click” (see Figure A). To check if it’s fully unfolded, push on both sides. If the sides rotate inward, it’s not locked. Continue rotating until you hear the “click”.
- Folding the Helmet: Lift the lock tab ( ) and rotate one side of the helmet inwards (see Figure B). Repeat on the opposite side.
FIT GUIDE
Make sure the helmet fits correctly and is worn properly to ensure it will provide the maximum protection.
- Fit: Once the helmet is fully open, place it onto the head with the rear fit adjuster in the back. Make sure the helmet is straight in the front to protect your forehead (see Figure C). Never wear the helmet tilted forward or backward. Not all adjustments must be made when the helmet is perfectly horizontal across the forehead. Failure to do so may result in an improper fit with the risk of the helmet not being secured properly and may come off in an accident.
- Buckle: Fasten the buckle securely under the chin (see Figure D). Pull the strap tight for a customized fit. Make sure straps do not cover the ears (see Figure E). Check all adjustments each time before use.
- Rear Fit Adjuster: Rotate the rear dial fit adjuster clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen (see Figure F). Note the fit should be adjusted for your comfort and should not be uncomfortably tight.
- Fit Check: Once all adjustments are made, it is very important to check the fit. Stand in front of a mirror and grab the helmet with both hands. Twist left and right. Your forehead skin should move along with the helmet. If it can be rolled off the head completely in either direction, it does not fit properly and needs readjustment.
WARNING: If you cannot adjust the helmet to fit properly, it must not be used. Please consult with your dealer or contact FEND for further assistance.
HELMET CARE
- WARNING: Helmets can be damaged by certain cleaning solvents, including ammonia or bleach. The damage may not be visible to the user.
- Cleaning: Clean the helmet with a soft cloth using only warm water and mild soap. Note, the inner foam lining may be removed and washed separately. Do not dismantle or modify any part of the helmet, which will result in seriously jeopardizing its protective function.
- Storage: Store the helmet in a cool, dry place. Do not store in direct heat or sunlight. Excessive heat can damage the helmet.
LIGHTS MANUAL
The FEND Superlights are designed to enhance your visibility and safety while
cycling, especially in low-light conditions or situations where visibility is
reduced. Using both the front light and taillight is highly recommended and
legally required in many states, as it significantly improves your visibility
to other road users, particularly motorists. Before riding, ensure that the
lights are sufficiently charged for optimal performance.
WARNING:
Do not attach the FEND Super Light(s) to any other helmet. Using the FEND
Super Light(s) with other helmets may compromise your safety, including on
impact.
HOW TO USE LIGHTS
- Charging the Lights: Before using, charge the lights for approximately 1.5 hours. The lights are fully charged when the indicator lights switch off.
- Turning On/Off the Lights: To turn the Light On/Off, press and hold the power button located on the back of the light for 2 seconds (see Figure G), until the light turns On/Off.
- Turning On/Off the Lights When Installed in the Helmet: To turn the Light On/Off when installed in the helmet, press the U-shaped indicator bump located on the front side of the light for 2 seconds (see Figure H), until the light turns On/Off.
- Switching Modes: The light features three modes: Steady, Pulse, and Flash. To switch between these modes, quickly press the power button for 1 second each time.
HOW TO INSTALL/REMOVE LIGHTS FROM HELMET
- Choose the Correct Light: The Front Light (White Light) should always be placed on the FRONT of the helmet, and the Taillight (Red Light) should always be placed on the BACK of the helmet (See Figure I).
- Install Lights Onto Helmet: Locate the designated slots for the lights on the FEND Super helmet and push the lights into the slots until an audible click is heard, indicating they are securely locked in place.
- Remove Lights From Helmet: From the inside of the helmet, push outward on the back surface of the light until it snaps out of place (see Figure J).
HOW TO CHARGE THE LIGHTS
- Locate Charging Port: Peel back the protective rubber layer on the back of each light to uncover the USB-C port (see Figure G on page 6).
- Charging Time: It takes approximately 1.5 hours to fully charge the lights with a completely drained battery.
- Charging Indicator: The LED light will blink while charging and will switch off once charging is complete.
The charger’s output voltage must not exceed 5V. Use only Class II electrical, CE/UL approved charger with double insulation against hazardous voltages.
