INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE USE

This appliance should only be used for domestic cleaning, as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this guide is fully understood before operating the appliance.
Do not leave the appliance plugged in. Always switch off and remove the plug from the socket after use, or before cleaning the appliance or any maintenance task.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
If the power cord is damaged stop using the appliance immediately. To avoid a safety hazard, an authorised HOOVER service engineer must replace the power cord.
Keep hands, feet, loose clothing and hair away from rotating brushes.
Use only attachments, consumables or spares recommended or supplied by HOOVER.
Static electricity: Some carpets can cause a small build up of static electricity. Any static discharge is not hazardous to health.
Do not use your appliance out of doors or on any wet surface or for wet pick up.
Do not pick up hard or sharp objects, matches, hot ashes, cigarette ends or other similar items.
Do not spray with or pick up flammable liquids, cleaning fluids, aerosols or their vapours.
Do not run over the power cord when using your appliance or remove the plug by pulling on the power cord.
Do not continue to use your appliance if it appears faulty.
HOOVER service: To ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of this appliance we recommend that any servicing or repairs are only carried out by an authorised HOOVER service engineer.
Do not stand on or wrap the cord around arms or legs when using your appliance.
Do not use the appliance to clean animals or people.
Do not position the appliance above you when cleaning the stairs.

PREPARING YOUR CLEANER

  1. Remove the accessories from the main packaging. You will find the following:
    • Cleaner body
    • Cleaner handle
    • Parquet nozzle*
    • Carpet and Floor nozzle (GP)
    • Hard Floor Nozzle (HF)

    • Carpet Nozzle (CA)*
    • Miniturbo Nozzle

    • Grand Turbo Nozzle*

  2. Assemble the cleaner handle and fix in position with the supplied screw. [1a,1b]

  3. Secure the flexi tube to the rear of the cleaner handle. [1b]

  4. Secure the nozzle to the product. [1c]

*For models equipped with Carpet & Floor nozzle:**
Secure the nozzle to the product. Press the floor type selector pedal on the nozzle [2] to select the ideal cleaning mode for the floor type.
Hard Floor – Brushes are lowered to protect the floor.
Carpet – Brushes are raised for the deepest clean.

*For models equipped with Parquet nozzle:**
Secure the nozzle to the product in the same way as the carpet and floor nozzle. For parquet floors and other delicate floors.

*For models equipped with mini-turbo nozzle:**
Ideal to clean soft furnishings and for the pet hairs removal.

  1. The mini-turbo nozzle can be connected directly to the flexi tube handle or the lance. [3a]
  2. If any blockages are encountered, please open the inspection cover on the underside. [3b]

*For models equipped with Grand Turbo Nozzle:
Secure the nozzle to the product in the same way as the carpet and floor nozzle. Use the turbo nozzle for deep cleaning on carpets.
Cord storage:**
To store the cord after cleaning wrap the cord around the two cord hooks. [4]

USING YOUR CLEANER

Power switch:

  1. To switch the cleaner on, rotate the power control knob. [5]

  2. Adjust the power level by rotating the variable power knob. Adjust the suction
    regulation to the desired level.

  3. To switch off the product, rotate the same knob.

Carpet & Floor Nozzle: [2]**
– Hard floor Cleaning: Press the pedal on the nozzle on Hard Floor mode and adjust the slider on the nozzle on ALL FLOORS. In this position brushes, wheels and wiper blade are lowered to protect hard floors. [2a] – Standard Carpet & Rugs Cleaning: Press the pedal on the nozzle on Carpet mode and adjust the slider on the nozzle on ALL FLOORS. In this position brushes and wiper blade are raised while wheels are lowered to allow a perfect ease of movement on such surfaces. [2b] – Deep Carpet Cleaning: Press the pedal on the nozzle on Carpet mode and adjust the slider on the nozzle on DEEP CARPET CLEANING. In this position brushes, wheels and wiper blade are raised for a deeper cleaning of your carpet. [2c]

WARNING: It is recommended to avoid potential scratching of wooden floors that the pedal is not set on Hard floor mode and the slider on Deep carpet cleaning.
Using the flexi tube with accessories:
The flexi tube gives you the maximum flexibility of usage. It can be used alone or combined with the accessories, as desired. To vacuum with the supplied accessories:

  1. Select accessory mode by rotating the carry handle/accessory mode activator to accessory position until locked in position. [6]
  2. Remove the flexi tube from the location in the back of the cleaner handle. [7]
  3. To use the extension tube: remove the tube from the door by unclipping from the top. [8] Attach to the flexitube. [10a]
  4. To use the dusting brush: remove the tool from the location in the body of the product by pressing the middle of the component [9a] then unclipping from the top. [9b] Attach to the flexitube. [10b]
  5. To return to floor vacuuming push the floor mode button. [11]

IMPORTANT – When using cleaning tools, the cleaner must be kept in the upright position, and held. It must not be used in the stand alone position without the user holding the product. [12]

CLEANER MAINTENANCE

**EMPTYING THE DUST BIN ASSEMBLY *
a) Lay the cleaner on a flat surface, pull back the door release button and remove the transparent door. [13] b) Remove the bin assembly. [14] c) Remove the bin top cover assembly from the container, by rotating the container and bin top cover in opposite directions. [15] d) Empty the debris from the container into a bin. [16] Check if it is necessary to clean the relative filters, as described in the “Maintaining the filters” section.
e) Refit bin top cover to container assemble the dust container and filter assembly to the product ensuring you keep the container ribs aligned with the cleaner body as shown
[20b], once aligned push dust bin assembly fully into position.
NOTE:** Hoover recommends to inspect and wash if necessary, the mesh and the filters after each full container, see maintaining filters section.

**MAINTAINING THE FILTERS *
a) To access the washable HEPA filter, rotate the mesh filter assembly in the opposite direction from the bin top cover. [15b] b) Remove the mesh and remove all dust and debris, wash mesh if required but ensure it is dry before refitting. [17a] c) Gently tap the filter to remove any excess dust and if required wash the HEPA filter thoroughly under hand warm water until water runs clear. [17b] d) Remove excess water by shaking and leave to dry for 24 hours. [18] Refit filters to the cleaner only when completely dry.
e) When refitting the filter ensure mesh is assembled correctly as per [8d] then reassemble filter to bin top cover [19b] and finally fit to container ensuring correct alignment. [19a] f) To refit the dust container and filters assembly to the product [21], ensure you keep the container ribs aligned with the cleaner body as shown [20b], once aligned push dust bin assembly fully into position.
DO NOT USE HOT WATER OR DETERGENTS.
IMPORTANT:** Ensure the bagless filters, mesh and HEPA, are fitted before use.

ACCESSORIES

To obtain the best performance and efficiency it is recommended that the correct nozzles are used for the main cleaning operations. These nozzles are indicated in the diagrams by the letters GP, HF or CA.
A nozzle type GP can be used to clean both carpet and hard floor.
A nozzle type HF is suitable for use only on hard floor.
A nozzle of type CA is suitable for use only on carpet.
The other nozzles are accessories for specialist cleaning tasks and are recommended for occasional use only.
All accessories can be fitted to the end of the handle or the end of the telescopic tube.
Parquet Nozzle – For parquet floors and other delicate floors.
Mini Turbo Nozzle
– Use the mini turbo nozzle on stairs or for deep cleaning on textile surfaces and other hard to clean areas. Particularly suitable for allergen removal.
IMPORTANT: Do not use the turbo and mini turbo nozzles on rugs with long fringes, animal hides and carpet pile deeper than 15mm. Do not keep the nozzle stationary while the brush is rotating.

USER CHECKLIST

Should you have a problem with your product, complete the simple user checklist before calling the Hoover customer service.

  • Is there a working electricity supply to the product? Check with another electrical product.
  • Is the dust bin full? Inspect and empty.
  • Is the hose blocked? Check by stretching to the full length.
  • Is the product inlet blocked? Check by removing the dust bin and checking the dust bin inlet.
  • Is the filter blocked? Check by removing and clean.
