Operating Instructions

Remove the exterior and interior packaging.
The unit has been cleaned and sanitized prior to leaving the factory. We recommend wiping down the dispenser with a damp cloth prior to installation to remove any dust and debris that may have collected during shipping.
Do not plug in the power cord yet.
Before connecting the appliance to a power source, once it has been positioned in the desired location let the appliance stand upright for approximately 2 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from jostling during transportation.
Place your appliance on a floor that is strong enough to support the dispenser when it is fully loaded with bottled water. The unit is provided with four plastic feet; if it does not sit level on the floor, adjust the legs to level the unit.
Place the dispenser upright on a hard, level surface in a cool, shaded location near a grounded wall outlet.
Position the dispenser so there are about four inches of clearance from the wall on the back and on both sides.

  1. Remove any label or sticker from the mouth of the water bottle.
  2. Vertically insert the bottle into the bottle supporter on the top of the machine. The bottle supporter has a built-in puncturing rod to allow you to use spill-proof caps without opening the plastic bottle seals.IST MWD1 Water Dispenser - Operating Instruction
  3. Check that the flow of water from all spouts is working properly. To check the cold water and room-temperature water spouts, push each button to dispense water from the desired spout. To check the hot water spout, slide the red child-safety lock upward and simultane- ously push the hot water button to dispense water. (Note that the water from all spouts will be room temperature still because the appliance has not yet been plugged in.)IST MWD1 Water Dispenser - Operating Instruction 2
  4. Once you’ve confirmed that water dispenses from all three spouts, insert the power plug into a power socket. Turn on the heating and the cooling switches (If you do not wish to have hot water, please leave the heating switch at the back of the unit in the off position. If you do not wish to have cold water, please leave the cooling switch in the off position.)
  5. Once the switches are in the on position, the heating indicator light and the cooling indicator light will turn on. It will take about 15 – 20 minutes for the hot water to heat to the appropriate temperature, It will take about 1 hour for the cold water to cool to the appropriate temperature.
  6. When the water has reached the appropriate hot and cold temperatures, the indicator lights will turn off and the water is ready for use. The indicator lights will turn back on automatically when the machine needs to reheat or cool again.
  7. To replace the water bottle, lift the empty bottle straight out from the top of the unit. Using two hands place the new bottle of water vertically into the bottle supporter.

NOTE: When using the dispenser, it is normal to see the water bubbling inside the bottle.
This indicates that water is flowing. Check the water receptacle frequently during use. If the water receptacle becomes full, please empty it in time.

CLEANING THE DISPENSER:

To prolong the life of the machine, it is recommended that the unit be cleaned and sanitized manually every six months.
Cleaning the outside of the unit:
Wipe the front and back of the product with a soft damp cloth.
Cleaning the inside of the unit:
The machine has been disinfected prior to leaving the factory. However, it is recommended to flush the system prior to its first use and periodically afterwards. To do so, carry out the following steps.

  1. Before cleaning, make sure the cooling and heating switches are off, then unplug the machine.
  2. Once the machine is off, pour water into the top of the unit where the bottle would be placed.
  3. Flush about 8 cups of water from each of the three spouts into a bucket.
  4. Then, drain any water left in the tanks by removing the drain cap at the back of the unit, until all the water has completely drained out. (Have a pan in place to collect the water that flows out.) Afterwards, screw the drain cap back on tightly.

Warning: Never use detergent or potentially harmful chemicals to clean the water tank.
Caution: The dispenser will heat water to a temperature of approximately 185°F, hot enough to cause severe burns if not handled carefully. Please use caution while operating and cleaning the appliance.
If the inner surface of the hot water reservoir develops mineral deposits, the unit’s heating capacity will decrease. To reduce the amount of deposits, fill the hot water reservoir with an aqueous solution of 2% citric acid and allow it to stand for approximately two hours, then empty and clean the reservoir as normal. If the problem persists, contact your dealer or our company’s Customer Service Center.

Troubleshooting

Water not dispensing at a sufficiently hot or cold temperature:

  • This could be caused by an overconsumption of water in a short period of time causing the tanks to empty. Please allow 5 to 10 minutes for the water tanks to refill, plus enough time for the water to heat or cool.
  • This could be caused by an interruption in the power supply. Make sure that the power cord is connected to an outlet and make sure that the heating and cooling switches are in the on position.

No water dispensing from spouts:

  • The water bottle may be empty. If so, replace the bottle and allow 5-10 minutes for the water cooler tanks to refill, plus enough time for the water to heat and cool.
  • The bottle supporter may be blocked. Lift the bottle from the bottle supporter with two hands. Check to ensure that the seal or possibly paper from the bottle is not causing a blockage. Install the bottle again.

Water is leaking from the bottle supporter:

  • This could be caused by a broken bottle. Check to determine whether the bottle is broken and if so, please replace it.
  • This could also be caused by a misaligned seal. Using two hands, remove the water bottle, then inspect the bottle supporter and ensure that the seal is aligned correctly around the edge. Reinstall the water bottle and check to see if the leakage has stopped.

Noisy operation:
This could be caused by the machine not sitting flat and may be a result of excessive vibration, Please make sure that the machine is level and placed on a solid surface (adjust the legs if necessary).
