OPERATION
- Select a suitable location for the appliance considering all the warnings mentioned in this manual.
- This heater cannot be hung but must stand: upright (on legs) or flat with the control knob and thermostat knob upwards.
- Make sure that the heater, when in operation, is always placed on a firm, flat, horizontal surface.
- Check if the control knob is in the OFF position (0).
- Fully extend the power cable and plug it into the power outlet.
- To avoid overloading the circuit, check that no other appliances are connected to the same unit.
- Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to the maximum position.
Switch on the heater by turning the control knob to one of the following three positions:
- fan only (thermostat always at maximum)
- heating at medium power (900W/1000W)
- heating at maximum power (1800W/2000W).
- The light on the front will turn on.
- It is most economical to heat the space at maximum power and then switch to medium power to maintain the temperature.
- Both at medium and maximum power, the fan rotates at the same speed. The difference between the two lies in the number of heating elements in use.
- Once the desired temperature has been reached, slowly turn the thermostat knob backwards until you hear a click. The temperature is now set. The heater will automatically switch on and off to maintain the selected temperature.
- When the heater is switched off, the pilot light will also go out.
- To set a higher or lower temperature, turn the thermostat knob clockwise or counterclockwise.
- To turn the heater off, turn the thermostat knob to “O” (off). The pilot light will go out. The pilot light indicates that the heater is switched on, not that it is connected to the mains.
- Unplug it.
Protection against overheating
-
In case of internal overheating, the protection against overheating will turn off the heater.
This may occur if the heater cannot emit enough heat or if it cannot draw in enough fresh air. -
As mentioned above, this is often caused by (partially) covering the heater, obstructing the air inlet and outlet grilles, or installing the heater too close to a wall or similar. When the protection against overheating switches the heater off, turn the thermostat knob to “O” (off), unplug the heater and allow it to cool down. Eliminate and/or modify the cause of the overheating and return the heater to normal operation. If the cause is not found and overheating occurs again, stop using the heater and have it checked/repaired.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Keep the appliance clean. Dust, dirt or deposits in the appliance often cause
overheating.
Make sure that this type of accumulation is removed on a regular basis.
Always turn the appliance off, unplug it from the power supply and allow it to
cool down before:
-
cleaning the device
-
performing maintenance of the device by the users
-
touching or moving the appliance.
-
Never switch on the device if you notice damage to the device, the cable, or the plug, if it is not working properly, if it makes strange noises, smells funny or you can see smoke, or if it has been dropped or shows any other signs of damage.
-
Unplug the cable from the power supply immediately. Have the appliance checked and/ or repaired by your supplier or a recognised electrician. Always request the use of original parts.
-
The device may only be opened and/or repaired by a competent and qualified person.
Do not carry out your own repairs, as this could be dangerous. Repairs carried out by unauthorised persons or modifications made to the device may damage the dust and water protection capability of the device and will void the manufacturer’s warranty and liability. -
If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service technician or similarly qualified person in order to avoid creating a hazard.
-
Failure to comply with the above points may result in damage, fire and/or injury. The warranty will be invalidated and the supplier, importer and/or manufacturer will not be liable for the consequences.
-
Keep the heater clean. Dust and dirt deposits on the device are a common cause of overheating and should be removed regularly. Switch off the heater, remove the plug from the socket and allow the heater to cool down before cleaning or maintenance work.
-
Clean the outside of the heater regularly with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive soaps, cleaning or abrasive sprays, waxes, polishes, or chemical solutions.
