Thank you for purchasing a Browning Trail Camera. Our trail cameras are constructed of the finest workmanship and materials available. As hunters ourselves, we have designed our products to help you get the most of your time in the field. We hope you enjoy scouting game for years to come with your new Browning Trail Camera.

QUICK START GUIDE

STEP l
Slide the battery troy eject button lo release the battery troy. The troy will eject about 1/2″. With o slight pull, the troy will completely eject.
Insert 6 AA Alkaline Batteries ond on SD cord into the comero.

STEP 2
Using the control pod, set the lime ond dote.

STEP 3
Press the MODE button once.
Camero will countdown o 10 second delay ond then be ready lo capture images.

SD Cord Selection

Install a good quality memory cord. The best brands of SD cords ore Browning branded cords, Sondisk or Kingston branded cords. Your camera con operate on standard class 10 or higher SD cords ranging from 4-32 GB. You con also use higher capacity SDXC cords ranging from 64-51268.
Please see page 22 for a graph showing how many photos, videos and timelopse segments con be stored on SDHC or SDXC cords from 4-6468. Based on your intended camera usage, this table will help you determine what size SD cord you need to use in your camera.

Battery Installation

elease the battery troy by sliding the Battery Eject switch. The battery troy will eject about 1/2″.
To completely remove the battery troy, simply pull the  troy with o bit of force.
Install 6 AA Alkaline or Lithium batteries in the battery troy. Moke sure you install the batteries with the correct polarity, following the markings on the battery troy.
For opimtimol performance we recommend using Browning branded batteries, Energizer” or Duracell.”
Slide the battery troy into the closed position.

Main Screen

Turn the comero’s power on by sliding the power switch to the ON position.

The moin screen displays the comero operation mode, pictures or videos token, pictures or videos possible on the SD cord, comero delay countdown ond buttery life percentage. The background will show o live image from the comero. This con be used to help position the comero in the field.

  • The buttery life meter shows the percentage of charge left in your butteries.
  • When the delay counter counts down to 00:00. The comero is now ready to toke o picture or video.

To ploybock images or videos on the SD cord on the color screen, simply press the RIGHT arrow key while the Moin Screen is displayed.
Your first image or video will be displayed on screen. The RIGHT ond LEFT arrow keys will odvonce forward or reverse through the SD cord contents. Press the MODE button to exit the preview mode.

Set Time and Date

To set the time ond dote:
From the HOME screen, press the MODE button once. The  SETUP screen will display showing your ovoiloble comero settings options. The DATE option will be highlighted.
Press the OK buttton to highlight the month. Using the UP or DOWN arrows, select the current month.
Press the RIGHT arrow key to set the current day. Using the UP or DOWN arrows to set the correct day.
Press the RIGHT arrow key will highlight current year setting.
Use the UP and DOWN arrows to select the correct year.
Once finished, press the OK button.
Press the DOWN arrow to highlight the TIME setting.
Using the arrow keypad, set the current time and date. Make sure to set the correct AM/ PM option as well.

Capture Mode

To set the camera’s capture Mode, use the DOWN arrow to highlight the MODE option.

Using the RIGHT or LEFT arrow keys, select the operation mode for your camera. Press the OK key when finished.

CAPTURE MODE OPTIONS:

STILL PICTURES| This setting will take still pictures of game in daytime and nightime. This is the setting most people use for trails and feeding areas.

TIMELAPSE PLUS| This setting allows you to take timelopse images during the doy. In addition, your comero will also toke motion activated
pictures during the day and night, to make sure you do not miss any game activity.
VIDEO| This setting will take HD video clips of game in daytime and nightime.

Capture Delay

The capture delay sets the “timeout” in between motion aoctivoted images or videos.
Highlight the CAPTURE DELAY option ond use the RIGHT or LEFT buttons select the delay.

Capture Deloy options ore l, 5, l 0, 20, 30, 60 seconds ond 2, 5, l 0, 30 or 60 minutes.

Picture Size

To select the Picture Size, highlight the PICTURE SIZE.
Use the RIGHT or LEFT arrow keys to moke your selection.

OPTIONS:
LOW 4MP
MEDIUM BMP
HIGH l 2MP
ULTRA l BMP
TIP- A 4MP picture size works for almost ony opplicotion.
You con store more 4MP images on on SD cord os well.

Multi Shot Modes

To program the MULTI SHOT mode, use the DOWN arrow button to highlight the Multishot option.
Use the RIGHT or LEFT buttons to highlight a Multishot option.

Your Browning Trail Camero con take multiple shots each time the camera is triggered. The default setting is l picture.
Your options ore as follows:

MULTI SHOT OFF| This is the default setting. Your camera will only take 1 picture when triggered.
---|---
-MULTI SHOT STANDARD| The selections available ore 2-8 shots in this mode. If you select 4-SHOT STANDARD, your camera will toke 4 pictures, spaced 2 seconds oport.
RAPID FIRE| This selection allows rapid image capture. When triggered, your comero will toke 2-8 RAPID FIRE shots, with only 0.3 seconds between pictures. Your available options ore 2,3,4,5,6,7, or 8 RAPID FIRE shots.

Video Quality

VIDEO RESOLUTION

Both video settings capture in 1296 x 720 resolution. The difference between ULTRA ond HIGH video settings is the amount of compression used when saving the video file. The ULTRA setting uses less compression when saving the file. This olllows for o higher quality video, but the file size will be large.

VIDEO LENGTH
You con select the length of your video clip os well in the VIDEO LENGTH window. Your options ore:  5, l 0, 20, 30 seconds, l minute or 2 minute lengths.

NOTES:
To conserve battery power, your night videos ore limited to o maximum time of 20 seconds. For example, if your video ength is set ot 30 seconds, your camera will toke 30 second videos during the day, and your night videos will be imited to 20 seconds.
Your video clips automatically record sound. Make sure your computer’s sound volume is turned up when ploying bock video clips.

Smart IR Video

Smart IR Video is o feature thot will allow o daytime video clip to keep recording os long os the comero detects movement during filming. If the deer stands still in front of the comero ond the comero does not detect movement, the comero will end the video clip.The maximum record time for o video clip using this feature is 5 minutes.
To enable Smart IR Video, press the RIGHT or LEFT arrow buttons to turn the feature ON.

Adiustable IR Flash

You con adjust the IR LED power in night photos to your specific opplicotion.

Power Sove| This is the most economical power setting.
Perfect for wooded oreos, ond where gome is within 50 ft. of the comero.

Long Runge| This setting is perfect for pictures in open oreos, or where gome moy be out to distances of 80 ft.

Timelopse Settings

Your Browning Trail Camero hos the ability to function as a timelopse comero. This is useful if you wont to veiw the entire activity in o given oreo such as a large field.

TIMELAPSE FREQUENCY
Your trail comero con be set to toke timelopse pictures of the following frequencies: 5, l 0, 15, 30, 60 seconds, l, 2, 5, l 0, 30 ond 60 minutes.

TIMELAPSE PERIOD
The timelopse duration con be set os well for the comeros.
The timelopse duration controls how many hours per doy the comero captures timelopse images. In some locutions you moy wont to toke timelopse images oll doy, while in other locutions you moy need to only toke images for 2 hours in the morning ond 2 hours before sundown. Your ovoiloble TIMELAPSE DURATION options ore:
– ALL DAY Camero tokes images from sunrise to sunset.
– 2, 3 or 4 HOUR These durations limit the comero from toking images either 2, 3 or 4 hours ofter sunrise ond 2,3 or 4 hours prior to sunset.
NOTE: Your trail camera learns the length of a day and constantly adjusts the 2,3 or 4 hour durtion modes automatically.

Temperature Units

Your temperature units can be displayed on the picture’s info bar in Fahrenheit or Celsius. To change the selection, Press the ENTER button once, and then use the RIGHT or LEFT arrows to make your selection.

Info Strip
Your trail camera has an information bar that is printed at the bottom of each photo taken. This info strip shows the following information: time, date, moonphase, temperature, Barometric pressure and camera ID. This option can be turned on or off, using the RIGHT or LEFT arrow buttons.

SD Card Management

By turning the SD Card Management feature ON, the camera will erase the oldest pictures or videos on the SD card when the SD card becomes full. This allows your camera to continue taking pictures if you cant get to the field to swap out SD cards.
If the SD Card Management feature is turned off, when your SD card fills up, the camera will not record any additional pictures or videos when triggered until you change out the SD card or delete the images.

Motion Test

Your trail comero is equipped with o MOTION TEST feature.
This feature helps you oim the comero of your forget oreo.
With the motion test turned on, simply wolk around in your forget oreo. When your presence is detected, o red LED on the front of the comero will flash.
Simply highlight the MOTION TEST option, ond press the OK button.
Moke sure you turn OFF the MOTION TEST function before leaving the comero in the field by pressing the OK button to stop the test.

Camera Name

You con odd o custom nome for your comero if needed. To nome your comero, Highlight the NAME option, ond press the OK button. This will highlight the first chorocter in the comero nome. Use the UP ond DOWN arrows to change the field. Press the RIGHT ARROW button to move to the next letter. Your ovoiloble chorocters ore Capitol A-Z, 0-9 or o blank space.
When finished, press the OK key to sove your selection.
The following options con be changed by pressing the DOWN button to highlight the option, ond pressing the OK button.
You will see o new screen asking you to confirm your selection.
Using the RIGHT or ARROW buttons you con select CANCEL or OK.

Default Settings

This selection returns your camera back to the factory default selections for each setting.

Delete All
By selecting DELETE ALL, all of the images on your SD card are erased. This function also reformats your SD card. It is a good idea to use the DELETE ALL function and reformat your SD card each time you install it in the camera for use.

Software Upgrade
The software upgrade function allows you to upgrade your software. If a software upgrade is available for your camera, it will be posted on our website, along with detailed instructions for upgrading at: www.browningtrailcameras.com/customer- service

Image Retrieval

The most popular woy to review the images on your SD cord is to review the images on your home computer.
The pictures con be viewed on both PC ond Moc computers.
Simply insert the SD cord info the SD cord slot on your desktop or laptop computer. If your computer does not hove on SD cord slot, you will need on SD cord reader. These ore inexpensive ond con be found of your local sporting goods or electronics store.
After your SD cord is inserted info your computer, novigote to START/MY COMPUTER/. Look for the SD cord icon.
Double click on the SD cord icon. A folder named DCIM will oppeor. Double click on the DCIM folder.
A new folder oppeors with col led l OO_BTCF. Your pictures ore in this folder.
Your images ond videos con olso be viewed directly on your comero’s color screen. See poge 4 for details.

Timelapse Viewer Installation

INSTALLING THE TIMELAPSE VIEWER SOFTWARE IS FOR VIEWING YOUR TIMELAPSE FILES. YOU COMPUTER ALREADY HAS PROGRAMS INSTALLED TO VIEW STILL PICTURES AND VIDEOS CLIPS.
In order to ploybock your TIMELAPSE FILES, you need to install the Browning Buck Watch Timelopse Viewer software. This software will work on ony PC running Windows XP or later version. The Buck Watch Timelopse Viewer con be downloaded from our website of: www.browningtrailcameras.com/Buckwatch.

IMPORTANT: Once you hove loaded the Buck Watch viewer on your computer, o full set of operation instructions is ovoiloble by clicking on the HELP icon in the viewer window.

Field Installation

Your comero hos o built in odjustoble tree mount bracket.
After securing the comero to a tree, loosen the tension knob on the side of the comero.
Position the comero of the correct ongle, and re-tighten the tension knob.

  • We recommend mounting your new trail camera of a height of approximately 3 feet off the ground.
  • For best results, use the MOTION TEST feature ofter mounting the camera. This ensures the camera is pointed of the correct location.
  • The adjustable steel mounting bracket is also equipped with built in security coble loops. These ore perfect for using o locking steel coble or o 5/16″ Python'” coble lock (not included).

Warranty

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Your Browning Trail Camero warranty covers your trail camera for one year.
We warrant that your camera will be free from defects in workmanship and materials when operated in normal use and conditions. This warranty will allow Browning Trail Cameras, at its discretion, to repair the product or replace it with a new or refurbished unit.

Warranty limitations:
This warranty does not cover cameras that hove been:

  1. Neglected or abused (including, but not limited to water damage caused by submersion, battery leakage, or improper storage).
  2. Modifications or repairs by unauthorized agents.
  3. Damaged cameras that hove crocked or broken outer coses due to excessive impact, heat or mishandling.
  4. Damages caused by wild animals.

WARRANTY SERVICE
In the event warranty service is needed, contact Browning Trail Camera’s customer service at 1.888.618.4496. Our knowledgeable agents con help troubleshoot any issues with your trail camera. In the event your camera needs to be returned for service, our agents will advise the correct moiling address and RMA number needed for proper service of your unit. You will also need your original receipt, or proof of purchase for warranty service.
You ore responsible for packaging and shipping cost of your camera unit to our warranty center.
